My heart skipped a million beats. I can't even begin to tell you how sorry I am, Kim. How heartbreaking. {Hugs}
Kim, we experienced some of this when we lost Murphy and when we lost Zipper. Lilly was just lost without Murphy, as they were "inside" buddies together. I ended up taking her almost everywhere with me for a month or more. She did snap out of it, eventually, though. And when Zipper died, Honey was lost. Her reaction wasn't as dramatic as Lilly's had been, but it was hard to watch. Zipper was Honey's "outside" pal. Such gentle souls and obviously, so in tune with what is going on around them. When Lilly died, Honey and Mack didn't react that way, and I guess I'm glad. I was so torn up, myself, by that time, I'm not sure I would have had the energy to deal with their grief. Having another dog to bond with is so important. I'm glad Dottie has Coco to play with.Quote:

Logan, Dottie likes Coco and Coco likes Dottie. Only problem is that Coco is a bit too rough at times for Dottie. Also, Coco is very food and toy aggressive with her! I have to watch as they eat to make sure that Dottie gets her bowl to herself. Also, when a toy is out, or chew bone, Coco hogs all of them! If she has one and Dottie has one, it doesn't matter ... Coco will drop the one she has and take Dottie's away. It gets very frustrating for me to watch! Kenny was so gentle with Dottie, even though he was big and clumsy at times, he never was rough with her!!! I love Coco and I am thrilled that we were able to help her out, but I sometimes wonder if she is a good fit here. Now with Kenny gone, I hope that Dottie will be happy with just Coco. :confused:

I am not sure how I missed this post - that Kenny had passed away but I did. Can't be anything to do with 8 dogs, 2 kids and 1 puppy do you think? I was so sorry that Kenny passed. It had to be heartbreaking for you that he went so suddenly. And although it will be heartbreaking for us, I would rather my dogs pass suddenly and quickly rather than them have a drawn out painful death. I often wonder how old our Jack is we were told he was 5 when we got him which would make him 9 now. But sometimes he acts older than that. We all (meaning all pet talkers) love our pets so much that their passing is just so overwhelming.... You will be in our thoughts and prayers!
Rest easy, handsome Kenny. :( I'm sorry I missed this earlier. But like Diana, I think sometimes it's easier when they go quick, it's heartbreaking to watch them suffer. (((hugs))) to you, I know you miss your golden boy. I'm glad he got to be with your family as long as he could.
I'm very sorry for your loss. :( We'll miss you, Kenny.
