I am allergic to penicillin and I suffer mildly from hay fever. It is easily controlled with anti histamins though.
Oh! I am also a bit allergic to Daisy - none of the other cats, just Daisy. My eyes swell up badly if she comes too close. Most of the time it is easy to make sure that I don't touch my eyes after touching Daisy, but on those occasions when she jumps on the bed while I am asleep then sneezes in my eyes, well ...
Not a thing as far as food and plants and ingested meds and such go.
But skin allergies... . If it is a cleaner, topical medicine, perfume or cologne, air freshener, scented soap or lotion, etc. it is just safer at this point to assume it will induce massive hives and swelling.
I'm not allergic to any foods that I know of.
Milk/dairy sometimes makes me throat itchy/stuffy.
Cigarette smoke bothers me to the highest level.
So you'd understand my dread of going through the comestics department at department stores. Salesladies seem to not understand why I veer way around them and their "ready-to-spray" samples!Quote:

And when they insist it is mild, she'll just spray it next to me instead of on me, or we should just try and see... it is time for plan B.
I pull out my cell phone and say "I have made you aware of the fact that I am highly allergic. If you choose to ignore that and spray it anywhere near me than I will be calling the police and pressing charges for assault."
Only once, when a door-to-door salesman sprayed it on a cloth and shoved it in my face, have I actually called the police. He went to jail, and I still have scars in a couple places where my psoriasis and skin allergies reacted so violently it actually made the skin split apart everywhere it had touched me for weeks after.
Gosh - I cannot imagine a door-to-door salesman doing that! You were right to press charges. I hope that company either changed their policy, or if it was just his "idea," he got fired.
Wasn't the most reputable company... they had a lot of reps in the area, and not one had a license to be selling  .
So, I don't know if his coworkers were employing the same tactic, but they all got in trouble because of it anyway.
I'd just like to know who the idiot is who arranges the Health and Beauty section at our local Sam's club........
Putting antihistamines and asthma meds next to perfumed soap just isn't too bright.
