I would feed it in a heartbeat, though I would freeze it first ;) Unlike borzoimom I would feed the organs as well. As long as you freeze it solid for a week, it will kill any parasites that the deer may have carried. If it were me I'd feed a regular meal sized portion or possibly a small amount of boneless meat (1/2 lb or so) with an easy meal like a chicken quarter and then I'd just watch my dogs' stool for any problems.Quote:

they get all of the portions, organs , lights and brains.
as for the ostrich and the Emu, I have a friend that raises them in Ga. she brings with her a huge amount of what is usaleable to humans ie hearts lights etc. so I usually ahve a gift from her that will last me a few months.
this list of course doesnt include the eggs, yogurts, and treats and some veggies that they get.
I feed venison too. I do not give much because with these guys, the lack of fat makes it rich- but they love it!

Chevron is goat meat, and the farm is down by savannah on an island her family still owns, and she sells to a wholesaler, not sure if she does private sales. I have known her for years so she saves the offals from the butchering for me. I can ask if she sells to private buyers, and also a list of stores that carry it, I do know it rather expensive, compared to beef or lamb.
Also, you may want to contact beefalo breeders, and slaughter houses, they often will sell the offal also.
Thanks! Contacting slaughter houses has been on my to-do list forever. I met a guy who owns an organic, free range beef farm and he has someone come butcher his animals (or sends them away, I can't remember). He said that he lets him have all of the stuff he doesn't need, and that he would probably be happy just to give it away because you can't sell some things (although things like liver he probably sells to someone else?)
I actually bought some goat the other day. I've fed it to Buck once before, he loved it. But I only had enough for one dog. This time I got enough for all four.
