Prayers and good thoughts coming your way Karen.
Oh Karen, that is a lot on one plate! But honestly, you should put "Karen" on your list of "people to take care of", and perhaps try to leg go of feeling so responsible for handling every detail for others. I you don't, you may find yourself on someone else's "care" list, laid up because of more back & hip problems. Sending you prayers!
Please put my 12-1/2 year old black lab, Payton, in your prayers. He has been sick for a month now and looks so sad all the time. I'm hoping the meds are properly dosed now so we can begin the healing process. I'm sure he misses LD, the border collie/husky mix who found us 6 years ago. We lost him to lung cancer on 10/01/2007. Payton just hasn't been the same since.
pepper636 i'm sending positive thoughts and prayers to poor payton..he must be grieving at his loss and maybe not feeling well on top of missing his friend. :(
LES right now. Thanks you all SO much. I hadn't expected so many responses. Thank you Toots for your beautiful prayer for me.
Saturday (4/12) morning at 6a, my phone rings. I panicked and recognized the caller. My uncle Carl. Crap. He peed blood and panicked. John and I rushed to his house (no, he will not call 911 without me there). I kept him on the phone until I arrived to make sure he wasn't faint or in pain etc. Thankfully, 4 hours in ER, it was determined to be a UTI (caused my a botched, painful catherization from last week). He was sent home with antibiotics. I made him a big breakfast and John helped him to bed. I called and he's fine.
The reason I do Ann's wash is because she has a zillion (no kidding) pieces of clothes all over. She's a fashion diva. All her stuff is linen, silk, cashmere etc. I found 1 sweatshirt and wound up giving her some of my old ones. I finally invaded her place and picked out clothes she won't remember or ever wear again. I don't want her stuff mixed in with others, plus it's all done in hot water.I bought her some cheap sweats and pants the other day. And I was asked to buy her shoes that fit her now swollen feet. I got running shoes, 2 sizes up and the PT girl was very thankful. However, tonight, I found them in a plastic bag in her closet. Seems she had an "accident" which also included the ins and outs of her new Champion pink and white sneakers (t.y. payless). Looks like John has a huge cleaning job ahead of him tomorrow! :p See? i DO draw the line! :D
Thanks for asking Phred..I have to see a Vocational Specialist (suit also includes loss of income) since I only have 1/2 or less use of my hand. It's the neighbor's insurance company holding stuff up. My super (and soon to be wealthy) lawyer is ready to roll I can't believe it's 2 years as of April 5. Still an innocent victim.
Karen I am sorry to hear that your life is so full of stress (and pain) right now. I agree with Pat, you need to take care of you. If you let yourself go who's going to take care of everyone else;)
Lots of hugs and prayers headed your way dear friend!
Prayers needed for Kia (and me).
Long story short...
1) A chihuahua picked a fight with Kia
2) The chihuahua lost
I offered to pay the vet bills, but the owner ignored me and left. His owner wasn't very happy with me and I'm nervous someone will talk her into sueing.
I don't blame her for being upset, but seeing as her dog was lunging at every dog at the party, I'm upset she didn't just excuse herself and leave.
We found 5 scratches (from teeth or nails, I'm not sure) on the chihuahua. Kia got nipped on the chin. I don't think anyone will require stitches, but I know how wounds can go unnoticed sometimes. :(

I'd suggest you keep an accurate list of the adults who witnessed the altercation.
If you're good friends with one or two of those witnesses, you might ask them to write out
a Statement of what they saw - while it's all fresh in their minds.
A "follow up call" to the Lil Nipper's Mom might help to calm the waters, and you could
repeat your offer to cover any medical bills.
I wouldn't worry too much - after all was said and done, the Lil Snot did manage
to walk away - not too much the worse for wear.
;)
:( Prayers for you & Kia, paws crossed everydog is ok and this will go away quietly. It's hard NOT to be upset, but its pretty common for little dogs to pick fights and big dogs get blamed.
Prayers for my mom, please. It was confirmed today that she has cancer. :(
I'm taking the news harder than she is and finding it easier to cope by ignoring/avoiding any conversation about it. (I guess that's really just a nice way of saying, I won't be answering phone calls or emails for awhile.)
Her next doctor's appointment (to discuss a treatment plan) is May 6th.
I hurt so bad and really just don't have the strength to pray right now; thank you in advance, for those of you who can.
OH Zip. :( :( Many many prayers that your mom beats it. *hugs* and prayers for her and your family.
Phred and Pat, thanks. My sisters were there (it was Sasha's party) and a couple other guests saw it, so I'm certain they'd vouch for me and Kia.
Oh, dear, Zippykat, what kind of cancer? Many kinds now are more curable and treatable than they were even ten years ago. I know and love many cancer survivors, and hope you mom will get the proper treatment and beat this. Remember, cancer isn't necessarily a death sentence anymore, and you and your family will be in our prayers.

Zippy - treatment plan sounds good. There are lots of ways that cancer is beaten these days.
When you feel up to it, try to find out more about her kind of cancer...she will need a lot of support, as will you. A lot of hospitals have groups for cancer survivors and their families. It helps to know you and your mom are not alone.
{{{{hugs}}}} and PT Prayers!
A young friend of mine, Richard (age 18?), is facing surgery this Friday for a fast growing growth in his throat. If you would please pray for him, it would be appreciated.
Thank you.
We will, of course.
Thank you. I've gotten clarification from his mom. The growth is in his sinus cavities. He's been having trouble for 2 years, but it was thought to be an allergy. (And she's thought he was goofing off on taking his allergy medicine and is KICKING herself over this misunderstanding.) At this point he's having a lot of trouble breathing.Quote:

One of my riding buddies died last week (not in a riding accident) and his family and friends are sorely hurting from the loss of a really genuine, good person. Prayers going out to them....
Apparently they attempted surgery today on an outpatient basis. Took a biopsy which is being tested, but it was too extensive/bleeding uncontrolled to complete the surgery today. They're in the process of rescheduling until after his high school graduation (mid-June?) and will perform the surgery in a hospital.Quote:

Please keep my SIL Pauline in your prayers. You may recall that she underwent a liver & kidney transplant last fall. She's had a setback & has already been hospitalized for 3 weeks for an infection. Please pray for wisdom for the doctors, as they just diagnosed lymphoma on the new kidney, too. She'll be undergoing chemo, which has both her transplant team & oncologists pretty nervous about the chemo causing organ rejection issues. A team of specialists & research doctors are all putting their heads together on this one. Her spirits are good, but my brother is pretty shook up. Thank you.
Still keeping everyone in my prayers, too.

Prayers that Pauline will pull through and enjoy life again.
I am requesting prayers for my young cousin's second daughter, Zoe. She is a few weeks short of 6 years old, and has just been diagnosed with leukemia.
Mom and Dad, Grandmom, Mom Jennifer, Zoe's dad (not the man she is with now) are all in Victoria on Vancouver Island, where Zoe is undergoing tests. I know child leukemia survival rates have REALLY improved over the years, and I hope Zoe is one of them.
Bone marrow transplant is really painful...I hope they have other options.
Thanks for thinking of this little girl.
Prayers for Zoe.
