Gini, please let Slick know that she is still in my prayers, and I am thinking about her.

Ohhh, I hate hearing that she had such a difficult day.
Slick, you are always in my prayers and I'm now praying for a better day today with a little less pain. Hang in there, sweetie!
I just got off the phone with her night nurse, Sue. Slick had a good night although still in pain of course. She has a drip pain medicator, not one of those buttons she can control but that's a good thing as it keeps the meds going even as she sleeps. Sue said her mood and spirits were good, all things considered. No elevated temperature and all vitals are good. They will be getting her up for a short walk later today (it's only 5:30 a.m. there - shift change in another two hours). I asked Sue to please tell her that Gini and I will be holding her hands and she will have lots of friends holding her up during her walk, even if she can't see us she will feel our support. I could almost feel Sue smiling and she assured me she would let Slick know.
PS, KiKi is home!!!!
Thanks for the update Laurie. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...lies/Hugs2.gif
:) Aww, thanks for all theupdates, Gini!! I am glad that the opration is over. Now Slick can start with the recovery. It won't be easy, buit we will all help her through it!! Please tell her that :)
Thanks Laurie! I'm glad Slick has had a comfortable night. I'll be holding her up during her walk today too. :D
For anyone who has contact with Slick, could you let her know my baby girl is home?
What an amazing woman she is - she was so worried about my little girl but had her own thing going on at the same time. I thought about her constantly and I am so glad to see she is doing well.
Thank you, Slick!
Slick is doing GREAT and my little girl is home!

Thanks for the update, Laurie. I hope Slick feels a little better today and that the walk goes well. Will keep her in my prayers.
I'm sorry about the pain. :( No fun. I hope its somewhat better today. You are in my prayers everyday.
Slick - I hope you have lots of meds for the first two days...and lots of healing and more comfort!
Gini - I can send a bottle of pure aloe spray for the skin - it's non-aerosol, so doesn't "blast" the skin. Might help the incisions in a few days. It's very cooling and soothing.
If that'll help, let me know!
hugs
I agree. When I talked to her, she almost talked more about Kiki coming home than she did about her surgery. I just KNOW that knowing Kiki is home will make her happy and help her through another day.Quote:

But it sounds like everything is going well and as expected, so I'm confident she will continue to gain strength every day. I know for me just one night's sleep made a world of difference so I know every day will be better for her.
