I saw Slumdog Millionare recently. Great movie! Would definitely recommend this one.. :D
Rescue Dawn starring Christian Bale and Steve Zahn, i really enjoyed this story. *****
The film recounts the true story of German-born Dieter Dengler, who dreamed of being a pilot and eventually made his way to the United States where he joined the military during the Vietnam War era. He was shot down over Vietnam and captured. His detention and escape made for an intense story.
Recently I have seen:
Chronicles of Narnia-Lion,Witch and the Wardrobe
Chronicles of Narnia-Prince Caspian
Harry Potter movies 1-4(buying the 5th tomorrow)
The Goonies
Lately I've been watching tv shows online, no movies. A LOT of Doctor Who, some Angel, and I recently bought reason one of M*A*S*H on dvd so I've been watching that too.
Last night - Dead Man Walking
Tonight - Gigi
Harry Potter 5 and EagleEye
Just finished watching P.S., I Love You.
And the other day I watched Miss Potter.
Both enjoyable; both with wonderful scenery.
Section 60- an HBO documentary about the Section 60 in a cemetary where the Iraq /Afghanistan vets are buried.
As I watched it I noticed that two of the headstones had the DOD around my birthday- one was killed on my Bday. Made me think and very sad indeed.
Meet the Spartans- **** I LOVED 300 and thought this was really funny. It was all stupid humor -but they stayed away from the 'fart' jokes and the immature crap- even tho some people think it was stupid, I loved it.
My cable provider is presenting movies for .01 this weekend and I want to see Hellboy II!
I hate movies.
Usually..
But the other day
I watched Space Buddies
it was so sad and funny at the same time
my favorite character was Budderball.
I love any movie
about dogs
and I give it a 100star. That's the only movie I'll watch 3 times in one day.
Last weekend I watched "The Blob"... the original from 1958 with a very young Steve McQueen! Loved it yet again.
Last night we watched "American Gangster". Great movie
Hellboy II was really good.
WHat was the big deal about Dark Knight?
THat movie really sucked. Heath Ledger was really ill in this movie-No wonder he killed himself-that was a totally effed up character he played and anyone could see that he was on his way to trouble.
I didn't see anything good about it and the people who praised HL for playing such a 'dark' role should kick themselves into a coma for thinking it was a good 'acting' job.
Sheesh.
Just got home from seeing The International. Really good movie.
Did you ever wonder who owns the U.S. national debt? This movie will make you ask that question.
The part that bugged me was seeing HL and kind of knowing that he was fighting demons much larger than Batman. I think that is what wrecked the movie for me. Seeing someone that might NOT have been acting?
I'll give it another try and write a book report!
I love Ron Perlman and think that the HB movies are fun-especially his love of cats. The cats aren't as prominent this time out, but there was the one scene that made me laugh! "Come On OUT!":D
I recently saw:
He's Just Not That Into You - FUNNY! I loved it.. it's just as good as the book!
Pink Panther II - I fell asleep.
Confessions of a Shopaholic - Had its funny moments but nothing particularly memorable
Underworld: Rise of the Lycans - Some cool shots but a majority of the movie was a snore
New In Town - Funny! Great cast and some really great lines!
From 1960 - EXODUS - with Paul Newman, Eva Marie Saint, John Derek, Sal Mineo . . . . . . .
I watched Moondance Alexander to sort of preview it for my boss to see if she wanted to play it for the kids at saddle club. It was ok. The height of cheese, and I'm usually a sucker for cheese but this was way over the top.

I mean come on, she's on a tight budget so she buys rubber boots a used jacket, and a GPA helmet? GPA helmets start at like $300.
Last movie I saw in the theatre was Rise of the Lycans, I saw it opening day with my friend and we both loved it.
Good Witch's Garden(It was on hallmark a few nights ago)
It was a good movie.I will have to catch the first one when it's on.
I tried to watch The Waitress and Changeling but couldn't get thorw them.
ooh, The Waitress has Nathan Fillion right?
We never miss anything with Clint Eastwood so went to see Gran Torino yesterday and thought it was fantastic. I woke up this morning thinking about it - LOVE movies that make me do that. I will have to watch it again to see parts I missed. Eastwood movies have so many subtleties. Hubby and I generally have "different" taste in movies so am wondering if anyone else here has seen this one and what they thought. It was fun to see moments where "Dirty Harry" appeared:D We both laughed and cried.
Taking Chance -************************************************** **
Can I give it TWO LEAKY EYES or LES's?
HBO premiered this short movie, based on the notes of a Marine officer who volunteers to escort the body of a young Private who us killed in Iraq.
I watched it twice tonight because I could not get through it the first time.
A very touching story about how our soldiers 'get home' when they are killed in combat.
For me, this movie especially reinforces the notion that the caskets boing brought home from overseas should NOT photographed and printed as a media propaganda tool.
To take one dead soldier's casket and use it in the media as a representation of all the the rest is a slight to the families of service people and the men and women who prepare and escort them to their final resting places.
Great movie, see it if you can.:(
I saw slumdog millionaire, I really like it. I wasn't really that interested in watching it but it was really good.
I watched The Changeling with Angelina Jolie.
Loved it!
"Burn After Reading" w/Brad Pitt, George Clooney, John Malkovich, all my faves. It should've been titled "Burn Instead of Viewing". Ugh.
Seen the new Friday the 13th-some new twists-really liked it.
Martian Child-what a wonderful movie. Very touching.
I saw the Slumdog Millionaire cast interviewed at the awards show last night.
The kids were obnoxious and as they got more and more excited, they sounded like one of those overseas tech calls where the tekkie has had more that three cups of coffee!
No thanks, I'll pass on that flick.
What's a million in rupees, anyway?
IT's only 20.070.20 in U.S.D. and there are no dogs in the movie.
THUMBS DOWN.;)
I saw "Milk" last night. Everyone should go see this movie. It was amazing, and I cried and cried at the end even though I knew how it would turn out! :p It is amazing to me, that in 1978 California voted "no on prop 6" but in 2008, it was "yes on prop 8" - it really made me think.
I just watched "Japanese Story" for the third time, and i am a person who hardly ever watches a movie more than once.
Please if anyone else has seen it, i would love to hear what you think about it, i have raved about it before on PT long time ago, it stars Australian actress Toni Collette (from muriels Wedding) she is fantastic in it too.
I think this movie has the complete package,a little drama, good humour,Romance and there are some moments in it i can only describe as tender, and beautifully done, not to mention the wonderful scenery of the Australian outback.
Prepare to have your box of tissues handy girls.
LOVE IT LOVE IT.
I also watched Death at a Funeral last night on the telly, was very enjoyable, good British sattire, bit over the top at times, but yes entertaining.
I watched The Dark Knight for the first time last night.Liked it,Heath Ledger really stole the movie as the Joker.
I just watched "W" tonight, and was very impressed! It was far more sympathetic than I thought it would be. James Brolin was amazing!
I HATE ADAM SANDLER.
I won't watch anything that he stars in except SPANGLISH.
I saw it again on broadcast tv and laughed just as much as I did when I first saw it. Funny and true.:D
I quite like Adam, i thought Click was pretty good, and was it first forty dates or something like that with Drew, i liked that too, don't like all his movies though, Spanglish was pretty good too.
Watched W. Pretty dang good, I think a few things where slanted but with Stone that was to be expected.
Today I went to the library and I got a PBS special on Andrew Jackson and a 30 minute VHS on MacArthur. I also went to Walmart and succumbed to their $5 DVD bin. I bought Fiddler on the Roof, which I am about to watch. I have only seen a high school production of it, about 6 years ago. That and "If I Was A Rich Man" is one of my grandpa's favorite songs to sing. :)
I watched about 2/3 of the Jackson one and it was pretty good. I have a feeling the MacArthur one will be a joke considering they're trying to cover three wars in 30 minutes.
