Lilith: Boy can I relate! I didn't go for about 6 1/2 years because of that fear. Found a wonderful dentist that helped me work through it (a few sessions with Halcyon) That stuff is wild. I still get nervous but it's tolerable now. I hope you'll make it through it alright. I get nervous about it for you, too.
Kay: Sorry about your grandparents. It hurts to see our loved ones getting ill anf getting older. Makes you feel helpless.
And prayers for Robin, that she may continue to get better and find sunshine in life.
Also for Jess (k9soul) Send some sunshine and love her way. She really needs it.
Also to Freedom for their dad. Possible dementia or Alzheimers starting.
And for my Dasher. He might have to have his toe amputated. He's got an appointment at the vet Thursday for an ex-ray. I find out then.
Keep those prayers and good vibes coming! Andy's second interview went well. He's pretty sure he's got the job, but won't know for certain until Monday. :)
Continued prayers for all those that need them!!! *HUGS*
Good GRIEF! :pQuote:

Hi everyone! I just wanted to say thank you for all the good thoughts while i was having my dental work done. Lots of prayers and goodthoughts to everyone who has asked for them.

I'm sorry I missed this. Too caught up in my own stuff, I guess. I'm glad that things went well and that you're on the road to recovery and will regain a beautiful smile kinda like this guy >>>>>> :D
Great to hear Lilith!
I love your sig line. I'm currently reading Good Omens right now. Really liking Terry's work. :)
Sending prayers out to all those in need and in distress. Also a special prayer going out to Anna. Peace and warm hugs to you, lovely lady.
Thank you Val for your thoughts. You know you and others bring a sunshine often when I need it most :)
I just got this update from my friend Liz re. her husband's cancer in his jaw and associated areas. :(Quote:
Hi Friends and Family,
This Tuesday, February 19th is Bob's surgery date.
He will have a left mandibular resection and removal of 4 metastatic nodes in his neck, a full fibular flap transplant to his jaw (bone, muscles, vascular structures) and facial reconstruction. His doctor told us it would take 7 doctors a total of 12 hours to complete the surgery.
He'll be in University of Miami Hospital for an estimated 7-10 days, 2 of those in the ICU. As soon as he gets out of the unit, they'll have him up and walking.
Prayers, healing vibes and well-wishes are greatly appreciated.
I'll keep you posted...
Liz
Oh my. :( Many prayers for a successful surgery.
Prayers for Bob and Liz. I hope they can clear all the cancer.
It's gonna be a long road, but they will prevail.
On April 25, 2006, my sister died of aspirational pneumonia, which is what her MS eventually caused. She had had a few close calls but was intubated in time. This last time, she was intubated on a Friday night, spent Saturday on life support, Sunday was breathing on her own, and went back to the long-term facility on Monday.
My mom got a call from the RN on Tuesday morning as Darcia started to fail. Her body just couldn't fight any more. She died about 6 pm that day. She was 48 years old.
Tomorrow, February 18, Darcia would have been 50. I talked with my mom tonight, and she started to cry.
I miss my sister - but nothing compares to the grief of a mom who lost her baby girl, the youngest.
Please send prayers and good thoughts her way.
Thank you so much.
C
Candice-I am saying VERY strong prayers your way and extra for you Dear Mom.This is very very sad.
I too lost my baby brother John a few months before the 9/11 attack from a motorcycle accident that wasn't his fault.
My mom died of diebetes and heart troubles 2 years after his death. She would of lived if she hadn't given up life because of the loss she carried for her baby son 29 years old(Her favorite kid by the way).
(He was my favorite in the family too..we were extreemly close)
So...believe me...your mom's grief I DO understand.any parent losing their kid...dies inside after.Your mom needs daily support to go on.
Phone calls...jokes to make her laugh.Or bring up some VERY funny happy memorys of your sister...of all of you growing up together...anything to make her remember all the fun you guys all had.
not the bad stuff...just the good.or make fun of the bad stuff in a funny way by saying...what a crab apple someone else was in the family...anything to make her laugh.
It's hard to remember those fun days in such a sad state.
Prayers strong...positive thoughts your mom's way.
Catfamily - thank you so much.
My mom is fortunate in that she is resilient. She used to exercise - power walks, the Y - to help her with the stress of dealing with my sister's health, even after Darcia had gone into long-term care.
A few months after Darcia died, she kind of faded out of that - yet one day, gave herself a kick in the butt (her expression) and got back into keeping fit.
Now, two years later, she has started volunteering with the city Literacy group, and is going for training - she is getting back with people.
Days like tomorrow will be hard - I called her back this evening and we arranged to have our dinner tomorrow night.
With all her resilience, she is still a mom, and that was still her baby.
I am so sorry for your loss of your brother...and can understand how your mom 'gave up' even though she loved all her kids.
{{{{hugs}}}} to you.
C
Thanks cadice.
My mom loved all of us but he was the baby and the circumstances behind what was going on at the time of her being pregnant with him was a story in itself. My exstepdad was such a creep...his dad.
But she ended up loving him so VERY much after he was born and he accually gave her her life back when he was born.
So i understand why he was her favorite.
And what a cutey pie he was.
Keep strong and tell your mom the same.I hope she'll get through your sister's b'day ok tomorrow ok. :(
I know it's real hard for me...on a daily basis.with the loss of my only 2 members of my family that were decent human beings.
But my cats help. And Mike has been great.
Prayers for everyone who needs them here.
Your all in them.
Good thoughts for everyone. I hope the surgery is a great success for Bob.; my my dental surgery pale when I think of him!
I will also be thinking of you and your Mom today Candace. Im sure your sister is watching over you both.
Ramanth, any news on the job for Andy yet? Good luck! And just an afterthought - Terry Prachett ( the author you are enjoying right now) was recently diagnosed with Alzeimers so please spare a kind thought and a prayer for him too.
Could you please add my dog, Mac to the list? I can't go into details right now, but we have an Animal Control issue that could have dire consequences for him.
**Please May We Pray for Gayle {queen pf poop} for All She Is Going Thru Right Now** Praying for her Safty & Healing Internal & External.. Thank You All ..

She said she'd let us know if she thought that would help.
Again, Prayers of Support and prayers that poor Mac can be forgiven, are about all we can do.
Please keep Tamara, Mac, and all the other Sled Haulers in your thoughts.

My thoughts and prayers are going out to Tamara, Mac and family. I feel deeply worried seeing this :(
Same as above post. I hope it all turns out okay. We are pulling for you buddy.
All paws crossed, we're praying for you, Mac. Tamara, if there's anything we can do to help, please ask.
I'd seen her post, has anyone heard from her yet?Quote:

Haven't heard anything. I'm getting anxious but Andy remains optimistic. He'll call them tomorrow if they don't call today. Thanks for thinking of us. :)Quote:

I just talked to him so I have to wait til the right officer is on duty again. I left a message for him saying he can come out any time tonight or call me and I"ll come into his office. I have nothing to hide(except a couple cats since I have too many of them according to the AC bylaw!) and he or any of his collegueges are welcome on my property anytime.
Mac was loose running beside the team on Monday morning, something he has done for four years without any problems. On this day, if it could go wrong, it did. Mac was not being aggressive, he was playing(tail up, playbowing ect), but his behavior was towards a small child and therefore completely unacceptable. I'm still trying to figure out why the mother grabbed her dog(unsuccessfully, I might add as the dog got into the team and Tehya has a puncture wound on her leg from him) yet she left her toddler son standing alone on the far side of the trail with eight large dogs she's never seen before approaching him. No one besides Tehya was injured. The child was scared but physically unharmed. However, Mac's behavior under our local AC bylaw is enough to designate him a dangerous dog.
I know dogs who have done much worse, including intentionally inflicting injury, and they were given second chances. I am hoping that my history with animal control helps and that Mac will be given a reprieve as well. We've never even had a simple noise complaint before; several of the dogs came from the AC pound, including Tehya and Heyoka; Stuart has worked with them frequently. We're properly liscenced and have the support of my immediate neighbors and my vet.
I am fully prepared to accept responsibility for his behavior. He was way out of line and as his owner, that's my fault. I'll pay whatever fine they want to dish out, implement whatever handling and confinement rules they want for Mac. He's never getting off-leash again in any case. I don't believe Mac is dangerous and I will fight that designation. However, if it comes right down to it, I'll do whatever they want as long as they don't want to euthanize him.
That's so scary, Tamara. :( From the sounds of it what Mac did isn't severe so hopefully they'll let him slide.
I wanted to add a very sweet man that I've actually met before. He's the Chief Meteorologist of our local News station, Dick Fletcher. He had a stroke on Monday and from what my neighbor said he does not sound to good (she works for the News station.)
Please keep him in your thoughts - the news certainly isn't and wouldn't be the same without him.

Two wrongs may not make it right; but YOU should not be the one to shoulder
any more blame, nor consequences to your dog (Mac) - HE wasn't the aggressor!
Sure hope the Animal Control Folks see this the same way I do!
Stick to the Facts in your statement - and don't "offer" to accept punishment -
make THEM think of that.
Maybe we better call God again ...
Loose dogs are perfectly legal here. That's not the issue at all. We could both be fined for out of control loose dogs. They are supposed to be under verbal control if not leashed. Neither of them was listening worth a hoot at the time!Quote:

I understand the concern about the child - do you have a witness who can say Mac was playing? He'd have to have made threatening sounds and movements, right?
And what about Tehya's injury? Does that count for nothing, legally?
I hope she pays for the vet bill!
