Actually, I do have some child safety locks but with my arthritis, I can't open them! :o :D

Gosh, you do have your hands full, don't you! But they're wonderful! I think Angel may be trying to get you back in shape! :D
Isn't it about time you sit down with that blueberry/banana smoothie. :p
My poor boy is under the weather. He acts just like Angel did when she had that virus bug in January. I can't get him to the vet until tomorrow plus we are to have freezing rain tonight. If we do, the buses won't run.
He ate some of his breakfast and I have been squirting a bit of water down his throat every few hours. He just doesn't want to move much.
He did feel awfully hot a while ago, so I wiped him down with a damp cloth. That seemed to help. My vet had told me to do that with Angel if her fever came back.
My baby boy is never sick!!! :(
Oh, I am so sorry to hear Chester's not feeling well.:( I hope this
is just a temporary thing & with rest, he'll feel better tomorrow.
Prayers that this is not serious & he will feel better soon.
Chester, I know you love your little sister but do the two of you have to share EVERYTHING? :p;)
Prayers that you and Chester can get safely to the vet and back, and that some antibiotics will have him right as rain in no time!
Prayers for Chester to be back in good health shortly.
Hugs and purrs, and gentle pets for Chester,
Pat and cats
I am just so worried I'm almost sick. I hate seeing him laying around like this. If something happens to him because I couldn't get him to the vet, I'll never forgive myself. :(
Prayers going out for dear Chester. Get well soon, handsome boy!
He has been laying beside my computer chair since this morning. No potty or water breaks. I have been squirting a syringe full of water in him about every 3 or so hours. He just acts like he doesn't want to move. On the bright side, he did eat well at supper. Not a lot but he ate good and had a good appetitie.
It's good that he had an appetite & ate something for you. :) That
does sound like better news. Fingers & paws crossed here.:)
I'm sorry to hear about Chester.:( Lots of prayers and positive thoughts are being sent his way. If he's still sick tomorrow and the buses aren't running could a neighbor or a friend give you a ride to your vets?
I have no neighbors who would do that plus all my friends dropped me when I got disabled with arthritis. :( BUT:
Chester says thanks for the luvies. He had his very first bus ride. His eyes were so big!!!!
He was a good boy at the vets too. Even when this HUGE dog, called a brindle but looked like a tiger, (just a pup weighing 115 pounds) was right beside his carrier. He did protest the cottom swab up the bum though when they did a worm check on him. (he was worm free) He didn't care for the thermomater either. His temp was 103 something.
They did some blood work. He has a virus. All his blood work was good except his blood suger was high. That's probably because he ate some breakfast this morning. Not much but several bites.
So, he got a shot and some amoxi-cil to start tomorrow. He did start drinking on his own this morning before we went to the vets.
He's laying beside my chair right now.
The receptionist at the vet said if the roads should get bad and the bus wouldn't run and I have a kitty emergency like this, to call her and they would send someone to get them. That's a load off my mind.
thanks again everyone for all the prayers and well wishes.:love:
Dear precious Chester, please get well soon! (((HUGS))) for you and your 3 sisters!

Oh, I'm just seeing this! Chester, feel better, honey!
That is so cruel that your friends dropped you because you have arthritis! Wow, those were some friends. Well, you have friends here. You are an outstanding meowmie! Tell Chester I hope he feels better real soon.:) Loves to all your precious kitties.
Glad to hear Chester is better. What an adventure he has to tell the girls about.
Just an FYI - a cat's glucose can go up because of stress - so the bus ride and vet visit might be the only cause of that.
How GREAT of your vet to offer pickup service! :D That is fantastic!
I'm not sure how big a place you live in...but is there a volunteer society that could help you out even once in a while? Houseclean once a week or something?
{{{{hugs}}}}
MOFF:
Just checking in quickly here. I was tied up all weekend and never had a chance to look at PT. I'm so very sorry dear Chester is "not peewing berry well." but I'm so glad that he drank some water and ate a bit on his own.
Hugs to you and prayers for that nasty virus to go away for good.
So glad you got Chester to the vet's! .. and to learn it is a virus that can be cured with medication! Be well again VERY SOON, Chester!
And how GOOD of the vet receptionist to offer to come get you in the event of another kitty emergency when buses aren't running. Many, many thanks to her from us too!
And a candle with some light and warmth to help Chester get better: http://www.gratefulness.org/candles/...g&cid=10252029
I'm so glad that you were able to get Chester the care that he needs. That's a good vet you have there if they're willing to come and pick up your babies. There's always a way, huh? I hope now that Chester will be feeling better very soon so that you'll feel better, too. Keep the faythe. :)
Sounds like the meds will get him feeling better soon.:) I'm glad he was so good for the Dr. ((Hugs)) Good boy Chester.:)
That is so great of your Vet to come to pick him up, if need be.That should
relieve your mind about future visits.:)
Specially since both the vet and vet tech asked me how the others were feeling.
Chester is already feeling better. He had a snack and a good supper. He's been up moving around and is tons more alert than he was. We both thank you all again for the luvies and prayers.:love:
Do you suppose he might have been just a wee bit jealous of all the attention the "girls" have received - and wanted his fair share :)
So glad to hear that Chester is feeling better and is on the mend. If I lived closer to you I would pick you and your furkids up whenever you needed. Please give everyone lots of love from me and my furbabes.
Amy
I sort of wondered about that at first. Poor boy, the girls take up so much of my time, he gets put on the back burner. He can't even play fetch any more. Angel or winnie will take his toy. Winnie is specially bad about picking on him. She smacks him just for fun. I think I will start shutting them in the kitchen for a bit each day and just give Chester some me time. We will be able to play then without them taking his toys. I have his favorite toy put up so only he will be able to play with it.
He has started 'talking' again. He came up and started chatting and telling me all about his adventure today. He is also jumping up on things again. Such a relief to have my chatty fellow feeling better.
He really frightened me at 1am this morning. He was sleeping on my bed all stretched out. When I called him, he didn't respond. Finally, he opened one eye and looked at me. He was just sound asleep I guess. I gave him a drink of water and a snack and he started feeling better. I was afraid he had died.
Never been so glad to be wrong in my life. Thank you all again so much. I'd be totally crazy without you! The hardest part of my life right now is feeling so alone. I'm glad I'm really not. You are all here!!!:love:
I'm glad to hear that Chester is starting to feel better and I hope he'll make a speedy recovery.:) You're never alone. We're all here whenever you need us.:) I'm glad to hear that your vet will be able to pick up your furkids if needed in the future. I'm sure that this is a big relief for you.:)
Oh, Chester! Such good news, to hear how much better you're feeling now!
Special lovies to you from us!
So glad to hear Chester has perked up.:) I'll bet he will enjoy a little
more "me" time. Bless his heart.:D
ps. We are all just a click away.:D
Chester is mad at me because I have been giving him yuckie meds. ;) He's been sleeping a lot but then, that med probably makes him sleepy, plus he isn't feeling real well yet.
He is eating and drinking good. Unless I've missed something, he hasn't pooped in about a week. He pees good. I think he may use the potty during the night and I just have been missing the big event. He doesn't act like he has to go or anything. I just try and keep track of things like that when one of them is sick.
Winnie is in time out in the kitchen right now. She smacks Chester every time she sees him. Angel is sleeping on their unused tv stand in the middle room in the sun and Grandma is snoring in my bed. I'm the only one awake right now. How odd is that?
Chester says thanks for the luvies and prayers.
Winnie, stop smacking Chester! He lived there first! You are a beautiful girl, too beautiful to be so naughty!
Oh dear, all the things Chester has to put up with... being smacked by Winnie and forced to take his medicine. No peace and quiet for a well deserved nap. I hope he will perk up even more and deliver some nice tootsie rolls for you soon.
Moff, I think it's a good idea to give Winnie a time-out in the kitchen. I'll be curious to hear how that went!
Just checking in to see if Winnie is being nicer to Chester? Hope
he is starting to feel better each day.:) (((Hugs)) all round.:)
Winnie is being her norman pain-in-the-bum self. Angel is getting to be just like her. Only Angel just wants to play. Funny thing, was Chester used to do the very same thing to Luke and Leonardo. He's got his come-uppance!!! ;)
He's feeling better today. They are all napping now. It's almost supper time though. He is still in a snit with me because of his meds. He will just have to stay that way because they gave him a BIG bottle and it has to be taken until all gone. Probably two weeks at least. :D
Chester, I hope you finish the medication without too much difficulty and that you feel lots better! *kiss*
Winnie and Angel - come over here and sit down. I need to talk to you!!
Do you realize that you have this wonderful home with lots of warmth and loving and good food just because of MOFF, Chester and Grandma?
Well, you don't act too grateful.
Try to be good girls while Chester is on the mend. He doesn't feel very good and he has to take yukky medicine.
And what is this about you chewing on cords and cables? You sillies, do you think you are rabbits?
Be good now and here is lots of loving and scritches from most everyone on Pet Talk.
I will be checking on you in the next few days to see how it is going.
Love, Rascal
