christmas card swap 2006 list sent

Wow, just wow.


These swaps are generally very civil. Amy and I, and whoever else decides to host a swap, try to keep it that way by removing any problems. Thus, the reasoning of me removing those who did not follow through with the card swap from the gift swap. It is very stressful to host a swap so any grief is NOT needed.


The whole thing about not participating in the gift swap started out private (and very mature and civil) but was brought public by a member, and has become very immature and uncivil. Lets be adults and keep it the way it started and leave this thread be. What's done is done, nothing is going to change.

For God sake Lori was ill, BC mom got hit hard the whole month of december, and instead of sympathy, I see an attack.. I thought I was doing a good thing letting everyone know what were the resons they didn´t got a card from someone, I was by no means trying to "kick" someone when down.......just letting everybody know if they should worry about someone like Lori, some may not know she was ill, some may not know Catluvrs was lookig for another job.......it could´ve been as well to give them support in those times, not meaning "start harrassing them for a card"........no way I meant that.........

I´m so sorry how this turned out, please forgive me and please stop arguments caused by my bad posting...........

I wish you can forget about it, but was it´s said it was said......so I´ll just stick to my OWN card delivery.....I hope everybody knows know as to why and I believe many don´t care (in a good way) if they received all or just a few (it was the thought that counts) but for me I want MY cards to gt their destination as they were sent (not saying anything about those who didn´t, they had they reasons and i totally understand them) but I´d hate to see my sent cards get lost.........

sorry about taking too much space but i hope I made myself clear adn hoping no further swap negativeness is taken in consideration........swaps are fun.......so let´s keep them that way......

Seeing this nice thread turn ugly is one of the main reasons I don't like Pet Talk anymore and don't spend much time on here.

Can't you all just sit back, take a breath and remember why this thread was started in the first place.....to spread joy to others.

You're doing a wonderful job, and you're right, some people had NO clue why they hadn't received a card from so-and-so. After taking over the card swap duties from Corinna, it became your duty to be the messenger and you've done a wonderful job. All of this fueding is no fault of yours. {{HUGS}}

I deleted most of my posts. Not because I think they were "wrong", but, as to not offend some of the people here.

Husky's mom- you had nothing to do with the way things went. As one of the ones taking it in another direction, I can tell you, it wasn't YOUR posts that anyone was offended by.

A suggestion...

Maybe a rant on swap issues could be started in the DH where people could air out their frustrations, and all of it that is here could be taken out so that this, one of Corinna's last posts on PT, could be preserved as something pleasant and in the spirit of "family" and sharing of this community. Someday people might like to look at Corinna's posts again to remember her with a smile, and this thread instead of doing that, would bring sadness and disappointment.

Ok we have a storm here tonight in Germany and I see there is one at PT as well.
Well I participated in the swap for 4 years now and it always made my December!
I am very glad to receive all these cards and I keep every single one of them :D

In each year, there have been some I didn't receive. So what?

This year up to now Isabel didn't receive mine- I know I sent it. I think that can happen- Christmas time is the most troublesome for the mail service as well.

I would prefer if people who didn't send cards would tell me- some do and some don't- but the cards you get make the fun :D

As the originator of the gift swap thread Kay mentions I would like to publicly apologise for the trouble it appears to have caused - a valuable lesson in engaging brain before opening cakehole.

The post was made public but that was also dealt with using some mature, civil and downright amusing pms! :D

Be happy people ;) I took part in the card swap and will do so again - it was great!

And, if I had to go back and re-do my original participation in this thread, the above is what I SHOULD have said, and left it at that.

I, too, will continue to particpate in the card swap. It is total fun to recieve ALL those cards and well wishes.

I just want to say "thank you" to you precious Pet Talkers who sent me cards, knowing that I did not participate in the card swap. You are all very special to me!
