Don't worry about Love4BCs, she has been banned. Everyone else seems to feel the same as you do about BSL.
Good to know, thanks for the FYI.

Those are THREE SEPERATE breeds.
There are no bad dogs(cats, birds, guinea pigs,ect..) just bad people.
Why was she banned?Quote:

IMO they are the same breed just different types..one bred for performance and one bred for show.
just like with ESS, irish setters, labs, etc....working breeds.....within most working breeds there is a show type and a working type...they have similar characteristics but dont really look the same...
For a post she made on this thread, which has since been removed. It was her goodbye post anyway, but it was *VERY* arrogant.Quote:

The ones I've seen try to attack my co-workers were some of those, as well as chows, a malamute, shiba inus and a shiba mix. I do not hate any of these breeds, in fact I love some of them. I may not like the breed's general characteristics and I might not ever get one, but I am not hateful toward the breed.
Pit bulls were never just bred to kill other dogs -- they were bred to be terriers. Terriers are bred to kill other animals. Pit bulls have no more and no less terrier drive than any other terrier. Jack russels are often used to kill rats -- does this mean they are going to go out and attack a child? So why does one assume that just because a pit bull is dog aggressive that it must be people aggressive too? Most dogs are aggressive in their own way. It doesn't mean that they will go out and kill other dogs or people. And nurture can often overcome nature. Pit bulls, when raised properly, are very good family dogs and love people and other dogs. They don't just suddenly "snap." Everything happens for a reason.
That's what I thought as well. I know that you can register them as either breed, or you can change your registered APBT to an AST(I believe?), so they're the same. I could be wrong, though.Quote:

From the history I read about Amstaffs, it is like you said, people wanted to disassociate the show/family dogs they were breeding from "pit bulls" so the AKC officially recognized them as Amstaffs instead of APBT. Fighting line pits can look different from show bred the same as racing greyhounds look different from an AKC show greyhound, they are bred for performance rather than to a physical standard.Quote:

I've never had a pitbull, but I've known people who have had pitbulls, am. staffs., and different types of dogs that people ignorantly group together as "pitbulls", and most of them have been the sweetest things ever! If one is mean, it was the way they were trained. I don't believe that certain breeds are mean, individual dogs (of every breed) are mean because they way they were raised.
I hate when people just blame the pits. They're really sweet dogs! Even St. Bernards can attack people. Blaming the pitbulls for all attacks is so wrong.
me too got attacked by an american staffordshire terrier.. this beast snugg up on me and tried to suffocate me.

Hi, I'm new to this but I just had to write when I read what everyone was writting about. I have an Am Staff and a Pit Mix and I would never be scared of them. When I first picked up my Am Staff (Cali<3) She wasn't very human friendly and my work group had a camping trip, so I thought I would socialize her and took her. She barked at every on and would growl whenever anyone came near. Then she would get use to them and be fine, till they changed. (she wouldn't remember them) But I took her to dog daycares, had people visit and now she loves people. And my pit mix, I just picked her up and she loves people more then any dog I have ever seen. People walk by when I walk her and she just stares and doesnt give up when we walk by. She has to say hi to every one. Bad thing though she was a stray and she has tick fever and demodex so notbody wants to pet her. I feel so bad. When she gets better I want to check into her being a therapy dog. I think she would live to do that!!! Anyway I love Pits, Am Staff, well any dog. There are always a few in every breed that might have a screw loose, but gosh how many people have screws loose? Pits just have the jaw power and teeth. That's all!!!
