You're more than welcome, Robin!!
I can't wait to hear the news from the White Coats! Good luck sweet pup!
Can't wait for the name, either!
I LOVE THE NAME CINNAMON!:D But then, I also love the name Ginger. Or Flair?:D :D Brandy is a cute name. But everyone is right. The name will come to you in time.:) Just be patient. WHAT A SWEET PUPPY!! I JUST ADORE HER!:D oh oh! or what about STORMY? haha:D
She is beautiful, she looks like our Nebo. :D
Hi Everyone! The vet visit was a huge success! My lil' girl is healthy as can be. YAY! Alden was worried to death about me taking both dogs but I told him I could handle it. It was a breeze. Katie rode in the back seat just like always and Lil' Bit rode up front. Both of them very well behaved and both of them like to ride in the car. Matter of fact Lil' Bit fell asleep sitting and leaning against the seat. She is adorable! No, Lil' Bit is not her name. It is just my nickname for her. Still no name :( The vet said if I still couldn't figure it out by our next visit that he would help me out and name her for me. So I have one month.....hehehe. The vet said eyes, ears and teeth all look great and she seems to be in excellent health. She had a big shot and some liquid stuff. I think that was the dewormer stuff. We also got some frontline. I said the wrong date for her bday. It is jan. 10th. So she is just a little over 3 months old about 15 weeks I think it is. She is weighing in at 20 pounds. I was shocked and couldn't believe she weighed that much. I think that may even be more thanwhat Katie weighed at that age. I'll have to look it up. Of course Katie was sick for awhile when we first got her. Miss Katie herself was a huge hit at the vet's! Everyone loved her and she loved everyone. There was even 2 cats sitting at the door and she justs wiggles and wags and sniffs at them. she was so well behaved. The receptionist just went on and on and kept petting and hugging on her and saying she just couldn't believe how friendly she was and that usually she is intimidated by Akitas but Katie is nothing like the others that she sees. Katie's vet has quite a few Akita clients because his wife use to breed them. They have 4 akitas themselves. The receptionist told the doc that she wanted to take Katie home with her. Then another couple came in and just went on and on about her also. They thought she looked like she just had a bath and couldn't believe how pretty she was. Actually katie is in need of a bath. They just couldn't get over her personality either and then I found out why. they were there to pick up there own akita who had just got spayed. Her name was Zoey. She looked very pretty but kind of hard to tell because she looked a little goofy still...lol. They said there dog did not have quite as friendly personality as Katie. I told Dr. Roll about the dog park and he said that akitas can be strange like that and that I have to keep a constant eye on her. I let out a big sigh and said "I know". He has always warned us. That is why we try so hard to make sure she is well socialized. He said I am doing a great job with her and to not let that discourage me though. He said that maybe that first fight with Kia and her getting her ear hurt may have triggered her behavior for the rest of the day. Could be it. Diana has a good point also. Maybe it had something to do with Dee Dee and being protective. I was also thinking that when I had her on her leash beside me at the table maybe she was being protective of me when the other dogs came around. I don't know what started that first fight with katie and kia. I didn't see it start. It just happened so quick. Did you see what happened, Kimmy? I have just never seen Katie like that. Yes, she has had a few fights but it has always been because a dog attacked her first. This was not the case on Sunday and I was very floored by it all. Oh yes, one more thing. The vet said kudos to you and Amy for your quick thinking and your first aid training and kit. Well done, ladies! Gosh, I'm sorry I have been rambling on and on. I'm always writing novels on here. About the name thing...we have had several family talks trying to pick out a name and it seems that every time someone mentions a name I am always saying oh no we can't because so and so has that name. Like Ruby we all seemed to like it and then I say but we already have 2 Ruby's on pet talk, then one name was GiGi, oh can't do that because we have a new little doxie named gigi. Then Nala AND Kiara. Oh no Kay Ann would kill me! Nala is her little girls name and Kiara is a named planned for her next pup...hehehe. Keisha was a big hit and almost Katie's name but then I say Oh I can't do that. That was Anna's RB doggie and I wouldn't want her to maybe get sad when she hears the name and so on and so on. Finally Alden and Lea (my sis) said, STOP THAT!!!!! They said I know too many dogs from here and can't keep on doing that....LOL
Ok, I'm done for the night. I have done enough yakking. Thanks for listening and thanks for being such great friends and I really do think of you all as that!
Hugs...Robin :)
Robin,
You ramble on as much as you like .............. we are happy to READ it!!!
Just a note, I was going to name MY Ruby, Revlon - because she has such a pretty face ........? Just ANOTHER name to try!!!
SO glad the visit went well! Good job Katie, and good job *pup*!
Ahhhh.. Names!!
What sort of names are you really looking for? Maybe I could find some different ones that may appeal to you. ;)
He says he has the perfect name and that he really likes it:
JASMINE
He says we can call her Jasmine with nicknames like Jazz, Jazzy and Lil Jazz. The more I say it the more I kind of like it. What do you guys think? Be honest!
Robin :)
*SIGH* Brandon is really stuck on Sophie. I also like that one! Brandon was in bed but he just came out and got the pup from her crate because he says he is having puppy withdrawls. They have slept together every night so far. It is so sweet. Brandon seems to be really attached to her. I haven't seen him like this since our Sweet Chloe. I know he loves Katie and he plays with her and even talks baby talk with her but there is something different with this new little girl.
I really like the name Jasmine!!!
Glad to hear everything went smoothly at the vet today! :D
I LOVE Jasmine...Jazzy is adorable!!! Great name...
So it's officially Jasmine now!?;)
I'm strongly leaning that way. So you guys like that one better than Sophie? I feel guilty about Brandon though. I know thats silly and I don't know why I feel that way. Its not like he is a little kid or something. I mean he is 20 years old!
Hey! Why is everyone else up so late??? I have been up late every night thinking about all this puppy stuff...lol. I have to work again in the morning, but I can't ever seem to get off of here at night....LOL
PLUS, it is always so quiet at this time and I love that!!!!
That's why i'm up late! It's so quiet.
I do like Sophie better than Jasmine, but both names are great!
To answer your first post, i do like Jazzy, i think it fits her...she has that look in her eye that says Jasmine to me...i think of Sophie for more of a smaller, curly haired dog, LOL :)Quote:

To answer your second question, on why we are up so late...i just got done posting about maybe getting a Swissie rescue companion (female) for Dale...it is under dog general...
...but i am just about to hit the hay...tired!! :)
Again, congrats on the lil bit :)
Oh, Robyn, a swissie rescue! That would be so fantastic!!! I hope it all works out for you. To be honest, I thought maybe our next dog would be a rescue dog. Who could turn down a birthday gift like this though! In a way though I do feel like Alden saved her. I mean she wasn't living in the worse of situations but she was an outdoor pup with no shots and completely filthy and she now has a good home and lots of love. Who knows what might have happened to her. I never understand why someone has a dog running around like that and NO SHOTS!!!!
I have to apologize to everyone! I have been so wrapped up in myself and my job and the new pup and Katie that I have missed a lot of threads and I'm sure i'm missing lots of good stuff and great pics. I have got so much catching up to do! I haven't even seen all the findlay dog park pics and posted my own and I think I actually have a few good shots from there. There is just never enough time!!
I vote for Jasmine or Isabel!!!
I did the same thing the first night we got Abbey (she was our second). I cried and cried, thinking Kito would never be the same, and that we had made a terrible mistake. But then I cried because I had already fallen in love with Abbey........Quote:

I'm glad to hear everything went well at the vets.
I like Jasmine.
I like Jasmine too!!! And my sister's baby girl, Jasmine was born on Janurary 12. Seems to be the name that fits for baby girl born in January :)
Glad the vet visit went well. You just keep rambling on, Robin. We love the updates!!!
Ramble any time you feel like it Robin, I love hearing of all the fun your having:)
You know after all the problems naming this sweet thing, your going to know just what fits her. If it's Jasmine then I wouldn't feel bad about naming her that instead of Sophie.
Can't wait to hear what her name is:D
P.S. I would have never been hurt if you would have decided on Keisha, I love that name:)
That is wonderfull that Katie and the pup hvae bonded so quickly :D
I love the pictures of them playing together so cute :D
And you can ramble all you like ;)
Glad the vet visit went well! And I love the name Jasmine. :D
Unfortunately no. :( I had my back turned and suddenly heard a commotion...turned around and saw that it was Kia and Katie going at it. As far as I know there were no treats or toys about... I told my vet about it yesterday and she said, "They were having a conversation.....with teeth."Quote:

Oiy.
Kia's had tiffs before with Roxey and Keegan, but those times she was being protective of me. This was her first rough and tumble.
I'm sorry that Katie got hurt. Is her ear okay?
By the way.... dogs on leashes tend to be a little more uptight around dogs that are loose, I've found. It's because they know they can't get away if need be and they go on the defensive.
Well...... I like Jazzy for dog's name but I am not crazy about Jasmine since my grandbaby is Jasmine. But that is silly because lots of people have Katie's, Jack's, Sadie's as children's names. I like Sophie but I don't think you should name your dog that just because Brandon likes it. After all it is YOUR dog and no matter what any one including any of us says, it should be YOUR choice. I highly doubt if any of us are going to be terribly hurt if you pick a name that we either had for a RB dog, a future dog or even a grandchild. We are all way tooo happy for you and your new baby!!!
As for choosing dog's names, the reason ours, except for Oreo, have the ones they do is because they came with those names. It probably would have been easy to change Snoopy or Taggert but we couldn't come up with anything we liked better so they stuck. (And Snoopy is one of the snoopiest dogs alive). Naming dogs, I think, is one of the hardest things to do.
I have found that to be true too - that is why I try to get people coming in to the dog park to let their dogs off the leash as they are coming in. It has to be very intimidating for a dog on a leash to come into a mass of loose dogs greeting him. You can see it as we approach the park along that trail. The dogs growl and fight to get through the fence at each other. Then when you enter they sniff each other and take off in all directions. Dazzi does it even with dogs she knows and gets along with - I guess it's just that thing - I'm tied up and your free but if I wasn't tied up and wanted too I could beat your @$$.Quote:

Yes, A name has been chosen.
It has taken me forever but today I finally found one that we all liked which for some reason was important to me.
Here it is:
Lady Victoria Rose
Tori
Boy, I feel such relief. I was really stressing out about this one. I think I was having trouble because I really haven't had time to spend with the puppy because it was all about Tori and Katie. I finally put Katie outside for a bit and we had some alone time with Tori and that really seemed to help me out. Thanks for all your help!!!
Uh, Kay...work some more of your magic whenever you get the time...hehehe.....Thanks!
Robin :)
BTW...Katie's full name is Lady Katherine Lee. I think the 2 names go well together. Victoria Rose and Katherine Lee. I like it!
Yeah a name!!! We can now offically welcome Tori!!!!
I was reading up on Huskies yesterday and it sounds like you're really going to have your hands full :) But, since she's got someone to play with, that will help out a lot. More pics!!!
Thanks, Amy! Whew, I don't know how you people do it with more dogs. Having 2 young ones has been SOOO HECTIC! But SOO FUN! What a handful they are!Quote:

What a cutie! And sweet Katie, I hope they do become best friends. I loved all the names given, but the name you choose is perfect. I'm kinda glad Layla wasn't the name...I like being different, even though I wouldn't have been mad at all or anything.
Kimmy, are you forgetting Kia and Layla's tiff...I don't know what that one was about...
Congratulations! Seeing everyone elses new pup makes me want another.
Aww! I think Tori fits her well!!
Which pictures would you like me to use? ;)
Well that name came out of left field! Last time I read it was Isabel, Jasmine, or Sophie. I like the name Tori and it really fits her. Good choice!:D

Thanks, Kay! All I have is what I have posted and there are a few more at another thread I started. You can pick whatever you want and whatever past ones of Katie. I trust you and always love what you do. Thanks for all your help and advise.
Thanks to everyone for all your help and advise. I'm sure I'll have plenty of questions on how to handle things between 2 dogs. Right now the girls are even drinking from the same water bowl at the same time. Too Cute! We do feed them seprately right now. Don't want to push things, plus we have Tori on puppy food.
YAY! A concensus has been reached!Quote:

At that time, Layla wasn't fixed. I think Kia was trying to show her dominence and Layla wasn't about to back down. ;) :)
