I too, just got off of the phone after talking to Sharon to make my donation.
Aside from helping Bassett - I think all of us have made Sharon's day.
We both agreed that the next important step is to say lots of prayers for Bassett. She assured me that the clinic would be giving Bassett the very best care.......and that isn't a question that I asked - it was just her way of being reassuring.
I 'd like to help too, but have to ask my dad. I really do want to help, but well.......my parents might not let me. They always tell me to not believe everything on the Internet. But I do believe you guys, and I really want to help! I really would if I could, and I really care about you guys. So, I'll ask and see what I can do.
I'm so happy to be part of this community too, you guys are so nice. This is the best forum and the best site there is.:)
So, I'll ask, and if my parents won't let me, don't think that I don't care. Because I really do.

Bluekat - why don't you show your Mom and Dad all of the threads on the forum about Bassett - and have them read that people all across the globe - are jumping right in to help. I am not trying to convince your parents to donate - but it might be a good thing for them to see what is going on - and what you are involved in. You are absolutely right - this is the best site there is - and we have a wonderful group of caring people here. And after all........this is for a CAT!! How could you go wrong?:) :) Also a phone call to the clinic should reassure them - Karen, our one and only MAYOR has already cleared them.Quote:

So, I called the clinic back, and Sharon was on the phone, and needed to call me back. In the mean time, I called the CC company...seems Security wanted to speak to me about some UNUSUAL charges??? He he...I had forgotten that about one hour before I made a donation, I put Tex's medication on my charge, here in Ohio...and hours later, a charge in CANADA? He he he...so, they wanted to make sure it was me...
What a great CC company, eh? So, I authorized the charge, and hopefully, we are all set.
I definately want to help.

I love Naomi and Basset (and Tilly and Nutmeg) to death and have been figuring how I could come up with some money. I just don't make enough money to cover my expenses and fosters, especially Peka who needs daily medication and monthly vet visits and tests galore.... BUT my dad said I could put a donation for Bassett on his credit card and pay him back later when I can. THANKS DAD!

I agree! I thought people would think that it was petty, but I think that knowing how far we've come will give people hope! Especially Naomi when she realises just how generous PTers are!

I don't see posting the amount as petty. We are all trying to reach a goal....and, want to see how close we are to it, and it would be awe inspiring to see us reach, or even exceed, our goal! So, maybe the clinic could let Naomi know?
Glad to see you all agree. Meanwhile, Naomi will have a very good idea of how much we've raised once the vet tells her how much she needs to cover! But I think it would be nice for the vets to provide regular updates!

We don't need to know who gave what - but Naomi will know and then be able to come up with the total donations. It will be important for the clinic to let Naomi know how much has been donated for Bassett.
There is a momentum that has built up and we don't want anyone to lose enthusiasm over making a donation.
It would be wonderful if we could make our goal!!

I can't even tell you how hard we are praying for sweet Bassett and for you. Know that we are all here for you both....David said he'd babysit Nutmeg if Bassett needed "quiet time" when she comes home. ;)
I called the clinic and gave them my credit card. I just quit my job, so I couldn't donate a huge amount, but we gave what we could. I love how the exchange rate works in your favor!
