C'mon Bandit, my man!! We are all pulling for you and hope for a full recovery!! You're another Christmas miracle. Prayers continue from the Kendalls.
So happy to hear the good news that Bandit came through the surgery. Prayers continuing.
Hugs
Up and alert!!! Thatta boy Bandit!
I hope your parents can go visit him. Their emotional happiness does so much for their physical health and I know that'd help him a lot.
ANOTHER LITTLE MIRACLE!
Bandit was sent home to my parents to recoup!!! They said he would do better at home where my doting parents will take good care of him!!!!! However, my Mom just called and said that his incision is red and she had called the doctor about it and is awaiting word. I told her not to worry. It's probably ok, but of course she is worried.
The power or prayer is at work here, Friends. We are seeing little miracles. In about a week, they should have the results of the biopsy. That is where a big miracle is needed. I do believe in miracles!!
Thank you all for your prayers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Miracles DO happen!!!:) I'm so happy to hear the happy news, Sue!!:) Your family must be thrilled to know they will have their boy home for Christmas! Hopefully, the incision is just a little irritated. Prayers continue for an encouraging biopsy report next week! Tell your parents how happy we all are for them! And when you see him, give Bandit a big kiss from me!!:)
Way cool!!! Good boy Bandit. With all the good thoughts and prayers coming your way, there's no way you won't recoup just fine and the biopsy will come back negative!
Cisco and I are going to keep Bandit and his family in our hearts. Many, many prayers will go out for Bandit. Ya'll stay strong for him. I do belive in miracles!!
Sue,
I'm so glad to hear that Bandit was able to come home
and continue his healing with Family around him:)
Prayers and Good Thoughts will continue for another
miracle when the test results come in. Thank you Lord
for first prayers answered:) Hugs from Liz & Moki.
Amen!! Liz
Thank you everyone.
They ended up taking him back to have the incision looked at and the pain patch retaped. He's back home. He's doing fine!! Woohoo!
Sue this is wonderful news! I know that home is the best place for humans to recuperate and I am sure it is the same with our furry friends. Feeling safe and secure in the presence of loved ones creates a climate of well being and I believe aids the physical healing as well. I know both Bandit and your folks agree! Prayers still going up for the biopsy results. (((hugs)))
I am so sorry that I didn't post until now. Sue, I know how loved Bandit is by you and your family. I sincerely hope he is feeling better and he will live a long and healthy and happy life, and that the tumors are not cancer. I am so pleased at the outpouring of love that you have received from this site. I think that helped him through the surgery and helped him get well enough to recover at his house.
I will continue to send Bandit good vibes and positive energy. Give him a hug for me and thank your parents for being so dedicated and spending what sounds like a LOT of money to get their friend well and keep him well. Your parents sound like wonderful people, and Bandit was lucky that they adopted him, rather then another family.
Hugs and kisses to Bandit.
I know that all the prayers said by the dear people of PetTalk have given Bandit little miracles. I believe it.Quote:

I'm very glad to hear that Bandit's starting to feel better.
I can just picture him in his "sentry" spot in the living room:)
Hugs from Liz & Moki.
Paws crossed until Thursday. Please let us know as soon as you can when you find out. I just KNOW it will be good news.

Good news Sue! Bandit remains in our thoughts and prayers for more good news Thursday. {{hugs}}
Wanted you to know that even though I haven't been here, Sue, I have had Bandit on my mind. I will be anxious to hear your update today.
Paws crossed, fingers too!
Logan :)
Dear Sue:
Although I didn't have time to post in the last weeks, I want you and your parents to know that Bandit was in my thoughts and prayers. I'm so glad he is recovering from surgery at home and I'm sure everybody had a happy Christmas with him there. One more miracle may be on its way for a good report on the test. Best wishes for a quick recovery from Carina and Alicia.
Any word yet Sue?? Keeping you and Bandit in our thoughts and prayers. Praying for an encouraging update. Love, Sandra, Cody and Star
No news today. Hopefully the reports will be in tomorrow. Mom is going to stop at the vets and drop off the patch tomorrow. Maybe the report will be in then. sigh.
I've been thinking about Bandit all day today. I'll keep my fingers crossed for the report tomorrow!
Mom and Dad went to drop off the patch. They were told that it would take at least two weeks for the results of the biopsy, that it was a mistake to say the results would be in within a week. :( The surgeon will be back in on the 6th of January, so the results should be in by then. More time to bite our nails down to the quick. However, Bandit is looking good and I hope to have some pics of him developed soon.
No fair! All right, everyone, keep those fingers and toes and paws and claws crossed for Bandit!Quote:

Ugh! We'll all be sitting on those pins and needles along with you Sue. But I'm so glad to hear that Bandit's feeling well! And I can't wait to see pics!!!:) Psssssssssst....Is the "other" Bandit there yet???:)
Tomorrow, Sandra!!! Woohoo! He has complications from his neutering and they did more surgery on him. He'll have an e-collar for two weeks. Did anyone notice that I attract the sick ones??? Is this a hint that "I shoulda been a vet????" again and again????? sheesh!Quote:

I seem to attract the sick ones too Sue. In fact, I have no hope of finding Peka her forever home because she's so sick. Maybe you'll end up with your third this way too ;)
I can't believe we have to wait so much longer to find out the test results. I will continue praying and sending good vibes.
The cats and I are keeping everything crossed that can be crossed hoping for good news.Quote:

My parent's Bandit's vet called and said he will try to find out something sooner on the biopsy, if he can. :)
aly, there is a reason why we get the ones who need special care. :)
Foster Bandit is here. I will post in his topic. Uh oh.
Any hope of an earlier result??? I've been wondering about him. Good thoughts still on the way for Bandit #1
Molly, the results are in on Bandit #1.
He has a rare congenital lymph system abnormality. It is so rare that they aren't even sure how to treat it. (I'm guessing that it is so rare because dogs die from it at an early age without it being diagnosed. If it weren't for Bandit's trip to the ER vet office for a fractured toe and my Mom asking about his breathing, would they have ever been referred to the specialist to find out about his potentially deadly problem. They said that if he had not been treated, he would have been dead in one to two months. Bandit's home vet gave him cough medicine for the condition.) Talk about miracles. They are going to start treatment with Roten ?? 3000mg. 3 times a day! . If that doesn't work then there will be steroid treatments, but that has too many side effects. They want to try Roten first.
In two weeks, his stitches come out and they will be meeting with the specialist to see if the treatment is working and what to do next.
So what's the prognosis?? It sounds like your parents are great parents to Bandit and he's lucky to have them. I sure hope the Roten works. I'm a little confused though, what exactly is the condition and what does it do?? It makes the chest cavity fill with fluid???
Molly, it's very frustrating to be getting the info second hand when my parents don't ask the right questions. I want to know why, how, what......exactly. My parents don't know what it is called (and that would be my first question) and since it is rare and there are extremely few cases to compare it to, I don't know if there is a prognosis. They are going to try things. As far as I know, so far, the chest cavity fills up with a lot of fluid. I don't know if that is all that is going on. The lymph system is malfunctioning. Hopefully in two weeks, I'll find out more. I will volunteer to go with to the vets and see if I can get more info.
I would take the diagnosis with guarded optimism Sue. Hopefully after the next vet visit you can get some more detailed info. After that you can do a little more investigating on your own. I'm SO relieved to hear that it was not a malignancy. Yes, so many conincidences conspired to see that Bandit's illness was discovered in the nick of time! Hopefully the medic. will start to give him so relief. You all have been through so much...I hope the tide will start to turn for you, your family and all the furkids very soon! {{{hugs}}}
Sue,
Bandit will stay in my prayers. I agree it is very frustrating
to only get small answers to the questions in your mind about
what exactly is causing Bandit's problem. Hopefully the tests
will reveal more specific details & that boy can be made healthy
again. I hope you get to go with on next visit to with the Vets
and maybe they can answer more questions & offer more
help for Bandit. Hugs & prayers from Liz & Moki.
