Awww, man, I wanted to see Chrissy do good today:(
The pups and I are all warm and cozy and watching the Nationwide race. Go Carl!
I enjoyed the Jr. interview. I sometimes wonder if he has too much on his plate.

I have a humble confession to make: I have disliked Danica for awhile. I didn't like her attitude and figured she'd fail miserably in NASCAR. But I gotta say... she's not doing as poorly as I had thought (and secretly hoped) she would. Granted she's only run a couple races so far....
Good race. I enjoyed it.
I had really hoped Chrissy would do better today. I also would have like to see more of a replay to see if we could see what happened. I am not a fan of Paul Menard, and since his daddy bought his way into the race it makes me that much more upset if he did wreck her....
I also think Carl was getting too much blame for the big wreck with Junior. Yes, he came up, but Krashlowski came down at the same time. I don't think it was either ones fault (as much I would LOVE to blame Brad), they just both timed it a fraction it wrong.
Great finish!! Tony is amazing in the Nationwide race. 5 of the last 6. Perhaps Kevin and DeLana could build him a cup car?
I set the DVR for the truck race but for whatever reason it recorded 1 minute and quit. So thankful for social media...still had a great idea of what happened from Twitter. And of course the video's on nascar.com
Can't wait for the 500 today!! Go SHR and JGR!!!
I have mixed views on paying teams to withdraw. Menard didn't qualify on his own, but in the end he gave it pretty a good run, plus all of the other teams were start-and-parks anyway.
In this case, none of them really qualified becuase of the rain...it was the luck of the draw. That does make it a little easier to accept that they bought out the other teams. And maybe now one of those teams (Parker Kligerman's?) will be able to run the whole race at California. Parker was only supposed to run the first 8 races of ARCA last year and was doing so well he finished the season 2nd in points. I know Nationwide is a whole nother level, but I would love to see him get some track time and sponsorship. Right now they were only scheduled to try the first 5 races this year.
Richard...*knock* *knock* where are you?? No comments on all the coverage Danica got yesterday;):p I must admit...even I got tired of it.
I like what they called it on Speed this morning "The Datonika":D
I've yet to see the end of the Nationwide although I did get to see the big wreck that put Danica out.
Only a couple more hours till the big one! Let's go Racin'!
I fell asleep, Ive' been sick for the last week-LOL, Mental don't count.
I don't dislike her enough to see her get hurt or smashed up.
I come from the idea that people should pay their dues as they work their way up the ladder.
It's annoying because they gave Wallace an " oh, she's a girl racing", Yet DP gets treated like she walks on water.
CW is treated like a novelty, where DP is treated like she won the Indy, Daytona, the Rolex, Tour De France and the Iron Man Triathalon on the same day.;)
I do want to see a woman win races and kick some arse. But, just don't care for a prepackaged racer that the media is using to get people to tune in.
I want to choose which racer I 'consume'...Being force fed Danica just makes me look for it when I go number 2. And I mean Number 2, not the car!:D
Let's go racing, ladies?
------------
This week is like going on a sports bender for me.
Hockey, football was good this year, I got Olympics, racing for the last few days, I'll peek in at the basketball all star game?
Life is good.
I just saw the Kyle B commercial for the 'design the car/Toyota' contest.
I thought that was the funniest thing in a long time.
He scored some points w/me for wearing the 'kitteh firesuit".

Why is everyone taking a break over some messed up road?
In Cah Lee fuh nee ah, we drive over it until someone falls in.;)
NASCAR: "OK, the coldpatch isn't workin ---
Here; everbuddy start chewing some Bubble Gum!"
New Problem:
*Stompin in* the bubble gum - it's sticking to their shoes.
Kasey said it looks ok but that he can see it coming back up. Hope not!
Check it out...I buy that epoxy in the tubes that you mix yourself.
I use what I need then....
It gets all over the place.
My hands, shirt, the area I am working on, and NEVER EVER CLEANS UP.
I have a few dots of tile grout in the bathroom too, THAT stuff is like concrete.
I know the patch is probably stronger that the surrounding asphalt, but come on!:D
What a mess.
So happy for JMac!
Good race, if Kasey couldn't win I'm glad it was Jamie Mc
RichardSounds like you need to quit using Epoxy. Maybe you can try thisQuote:

Bondo.
If I missed the race and somebody told me Jamie won, I'd punch them in the mouth and call them a damn liar. McMurray? Whodathunkit? Somebody needs to pull his Man Card for crying on TV though. But, it's not like he had a firm grip on that card to begin with ;)
He just won the biggest race of his career after losing his ride and winding up with a team no one knew whether it was going to have enough sponsorship to run the full year.
Pull his man card? What kind of sexist crap is that?
Men who have cried on TV.....Dick Vermeil, Brett Favre, Chocolate Myers, the entire booth at the 500 last night, Helio Castroneves, Allan Iverson...........
When you just pulled your entire career and possibly the existence of your team out of the trashcan with a win in the biggest race of the year, I think it's allowed.
I don't care that Jamie cried after the 500...many have. The problem for me to two fold, first is wasn't just eyes welling it up, it was full out, snotty nose sobbing. Which would be fine...expect he has cried like that after every one (which is only 4!) of his wins. I'll give him a pass on this one, but should he wion again, and we see more tears, then it is time to think about pulling the man card.
Jamie does seem like a sweet kid and always seems so happy on TV. I'm just happy all my guys finished ahead of Jimmie Johnson!
Well, if none of my guys could win I'm at least happy that Jamie won...even if he did cry:p
All in all, what a great race!
------------------------------
Mark couldn't agree with you more lol.
------------------------------
I've tried for the last 45 minutes to get those $1 tickets to Atlanta...looks like it just wasn't meant to be:(
Really? I don't get it. There is nothing wrong with men crying. What a race that was! The two long breaks while they attempted to fix the track. Think of how nerve wracking that would be. Anyway, he is a sensitive guy. I think that is better than a guy that has no emotions at all.
I've always seen Jamie as a rather un-talented pansy who catches a lucky break every now and again.
My problem is understanding why the 500 winner is so celebrated? Sure you gotta get in the proper line at the proper time but c'mon nobody wins the 500 on their own. Everybody in that lane needs a friggin' trophy for pushing the winner across the line, and they probably don't care who is at the front, they're just trying to get ahead of the other line.

I will admit that I'm among those men, and there are many, that cry during an emotional time. As young boys we are conditioned to repress our emotion because it's not manly. When I was very young my father would spank me and with every swat, I would hear "Hush" because I was crying. I never understood why he was saying hush, until in his latter days admitted he had always been emotional and would cry during emotional times. He did not want me to be a crier like he was. In spite of all the conditioning I find I tear up at emotional times. I would probable blubber like McMurray if I won Daytona. I have known men that pride themselves for never crying. I really feel sorry for them because they are so repressed they also have a hard time being intimate. I find the older I get the more I realize that it is not unmanly to cry.Quote:

In the same vain I was always taught men do not embrace (hug) when greeting or saying good bye, they only shake hands. I ran away from home at 17 because of a conflict with my father, who never showed any emotion toward me. When we reconciled when I was 22 I hugged him and continued that practice until his death when I was 42. I taught my son that embracing another man is not unmanly. In my old age I realize those emotions that were repressed did more damage than good.
I'm thrilled he won!!! He is almost a local boy here. He's from our four-state area. His home town is not far from here.
Hey, stronger men than he, have bawled like a baby at winning Daytona!!! :p
:D:love:
Congrats to Jamie! Very happy that he got the win and I don't care if he cries or doesn't cry. If anyone is interested Jamie will be on Letterman tonite and Live with Regis and Kelly tomorrow.
Not a bad day for my guys.
Martin in 12th
Edwards in 9th
Kenseth in 8th
Its a good start. I'm ready for some more racing!
I do think it is a little ironic they spent all weekend focusing on Carl's wife and if she was going to have the baby and what he was going to do....but it was Elliot Sadler's wife that had their baby this morning.
Congrats to Elliot and Amanda on the birth of their son, Wyatt.
The local sports talking heads were laughing about the pot hole.
One made a joke about it being smaller than the kind we find on our
freeways.
I cry when I watch cooking shows.:)
Onions do that to me.:eek::o
Todd Bodine?
I don't trust any man who don't cry.
You can never tell when to stop hitting him.:o
----------
No, there's no problem there.....just make sure you have hankies handy for him.
Boo Hoo!
There's a hole on the course...
Yeah, It's called a LAKE!

I was watching FOX NEWS and Chris Wallace starts to gush about an interview he did.
Some guy in a suit, red, kinda scruffy beard appears....
Hmm, That looks like DE Jr..........
LOL, no firesuit and baseball cap. He cleans up nice.:D
Richard, I want to say thank you for addicting me to that silly show Madhouse! Why does it have to be on at 11 pm on Sunday night? It is nice, can I can watch it when I get home from soccer, but not going to bed until midnight may not be the best start to my week!!!
All my guys had Top 20 finishes this weekend...first time this season that has happened! What a great start to the year for Joey Logano!!!
Don't blame me, I don't control the remote in YOUR house!;)
It replays during the week sometime.
We used to have a 1/3 mile track where Ron Hornaday used to race-Saugus Speedway.
I was into Off Road Racing-Jimmie Johnson sound familiar?-and started to go to SS just to see people go in circles!!
THAT is what started me to appreciate asphalt racing. Especially when the BIG shows would come to town.
Before they started the truck series, NASCAR put on a exhibition tour to see how well people would accept truck racing....
P.J. Jones and two other drivers did the race. Jones stuffed his ride into the fence, backwards, almost in front of us. He drove away with the bed of the truck pushed in to almost the back axle! I really got hooked after that.

I'd rather go to a small track than a super speedway.

Don't tell me who you root for on MH.;)

LOL, I just read about a pothole that opened up on the 101 freeway.
It popped about 20 tires before the Highway Patrol closed all lanes for 5 hours while
the fixed it.
Since the Rat Race is still going on, there is no winner yet. :)
