Any news on Cassie...?
Leslie I am so sorry. You and your family are in my prayers.
So much sadness on our pettalk.
Leslie, I'm so sorry about little Cassie. We are thinking of her as well and sending good thoughts to add to all the others being sent her way. Fingers crossed that the next report is more positive for you and your family.

Leslie the following two lines from your last post say it all.
The vet told us that she does have a chance for pulling through this.
If by next Friday her quality of life has not returned, then we will say goodbye to our darling little friend.
I am keeping Cassie in my prayers that she may have the strength and resources to turn this around. Leslie you are wise in the way you are looking at this situation. I know your heart is breaking. Come on Cassie - fight, fight, fight!
My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family Leslie. *hugs*
I'm praying for a miracle.
Has anyone heard how Cassie is doing? Still praying for the whole family.
Thank you so much everyone for the kind words. Sadly, Cassie is not showing any signs of improvement. The vet put her on a long course of antibiotics, but she is supposed to stay on them for a total of 21 days. I can't see her suffer for that long. It's not fair to her. She throws up so often that it's getting near impossible to give her the antibiotic. She'll keep it down for maybe 5 minutes and then it's in a pile of vomit.
We may be extending the time that we had originally planned on. I really don't think I can see her suffer for 21 days, but if the vet is sure it may help her, then we'll give it a try for as long as we feel necessary. If after two weeks she is still in the same condition that she's in now, we'll ask the vet what he thinks we should do at this point. Like I said before, the vets at the animal hospital are amazingly loving and kind. They would not intentionally keep an animal alive if it were not in the animal's best interest. They felt that she did have a chance of getting well enough to have her quality of life back, but they also told us that if she did not get well that they think she should be put to rest.
My mom and I are loving on her a LOT and reminding her how much we love her. She is enjoying all the special attention. She's still as sweet and gentle as always. She said thanks for all the nice words. It's so nice to have such love come towards her from all around the globe.
I just found out new news this evening. Cassie may be helping us make that most difficult decision :( My mom has been trying all night to give Cassie her antibiotic and she immediately vomits it up. :( It makes the decision easier but it is frustrating and sad. My mom was giving Cassie her antibiotic in about a teaspoon of canned food, but Cassie kept throwing up the teaspoon of food with antibiotic and mom kept picking the pill out and trying again with another teasapoon of food, only to have Cassie vomit it up. She then put the pill in a piece of cheese and Cassie ate it up, and then promptly vomited it up...pill and all. She then tried to pill her without any food, and Cassie vomited the pill :(
my poor little girl. :(
Oh poor, dear, sweet Cassie. I am so sorry, sweetheart. I wish you would get better. {{{{{HUG}}}}}

Poor Cassie...my heart hurts for you and I'm so sorry! :(
Cassie, I'm so sorry to hear that you're still not doing well. I'm sure that your parents will make the right decision when the time comes. Take care sweet Cassie. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
Oh, Leslie, I am so sorry to read this latest news. Does the vet have any ideas about why she is throwing up so much? :( I wish he could give something to settle her stomach, so the medication would have a chance to work, or that you could give it to her as an injection rather than pill form. I do hate to hear that the little girl seems to be suffering so much. Please know that we are with you constantly in thought and prayer and hope only good things for Cassie, and for you and your mom.

Oh Leslie, I am so sorry to hear about what Cassie is going through, It breaks my heart to think about it. I do hope that there is something that the vets can give her to help settle her stomach. Cassie and your family are in my thoughts.
Oh Dear Leslie, I am so very sorry to hear about Cassie. Although I've been keeping tabs, this is the first time I've had the courage to check at work since I know I'll burst out in tears. I'm such a coward. I am so sorry. Poor Cassie. Precious soul. You are so unselfish and brave Leslie. What a hard decision. I know it must be torture to see the little puglet like that. Please know that my prayers are with all of you, dear friend.
Leslie,
This is just so sad.:(
I was wondering ,as Logan said , if Cassie could get an shot
of antibiotic or give the RX via I/V since she vomits it up
again. Cassie & family are in my prayers. I do hope she gets
better. Love & Hugs to all. Liz.
Poor Cassie. Prayers continue.
Her world is spinning from her inner ear infection and the damage that the nerves are doing to her brain. The vet told me that it's kind of like being carsick everytime you open your eyes. She is dizzy from everything spinning, so she vomits her food and water. There is actually nothing wrong with her stomach, it's all from her inner ear infection. My mom called the vet today to tell him that she is no longer eating, and so she can no longer administer the pills. I am under the asumption that the injectable antibiotic is for a different type of infection, and the one she is on is supposed to be good for both ear and bronchial infections, which is why she was prescribed oral antibiotics. I am not sure, but I have alot of trust in the vets. They are wonderful. I'll keep you all posted if you like. She finds comfort in sleeping, so she has been doing alot of that.Quote:

Love to you all,
Leslie
Poor Cassie! I know how she feels. I have an allergy to milk and it gives me inner ear infections. I have felt just like that: dizzy whenever you open your eyes and heaving tummy. Even when your eyes are closed, the world seems to spin. I pray the med kicks in for her and helps her feel better. :(
I wonderered, after posting, Leslie, if the inner ear problem was the cause of her nausea. Bless her heart. Hug her and love her for all of us, please. As you can tell, we all are hurting for her, and for you and your mom.
Love you.
Logan
Poor lil girl! Cassie is in my thoughts, Leslie. Please keep us updated.

Thank you so much everyone. I hate to keep posting bad news so I have been avoiding adding any updates. She is not well and not any better, in fact, she's worse still. She has a vet appointment on Monday and I'll let you all know how that goes. I am not sure what else the vet can offer at this point, but we'll let him evaluate Cassie and see what he tells us. I'll let you all know on Monday what is happening. :(
Leslie, I think the main thing that we want to convey to you and your mom is that we love you, and precious Cassie. We are all so in hopes that she could improve. :(
Please know that all of you are in our thoughts and prayers (by now, you know that already.......).
Logan
