YEAH!!!! I am so happy for you and Taz!!
Thank you so much! While I do have a huge sense of relief, I'm still not 100% calm until he gets home. :) But I'm sure he will be fine. And I am hoping he will be a new kitty too. :D
I am so happy to read this update!
Yay for Taz!
WELCOME HOME, TAZ!!!!!
Your meowmie loves you SO MUCH! She is looking forward to spoiling you and treating you like the queen you are.
I'm so glad to hear that Taz's surgery went well and hopefully he'll be able to come home tomorrow morning.:)
I also hope that Taggart doesn't have kennel cough.:( I'll be keeping both of them in my thoughts and prayers.
This is wonderful news!!! YAY for Taz!!!!:D:love:
Well, Taggart does have kennel cough. But we've got meds. I just hope Zoee doesn't get it too. But the chances of her not getting it are slim.
Thanks for the wonderful words everyone! :D
WOOOHOOOO!!!!!!! I am so glad everything came out all right for Taz and you!!! I know you will feel better once he is home and you can take care of him and see for yourself just how he is. Good luck once you get him home..lol Sorry to hear about Taggert, hope he gets to feeling better soon.
Good news!! It will be so great when he is back home with you. I hope it's tomorrow! Prayers that Taz has a restful sleep tonight. :)
Thanks Ladies. :D I got his stuff set up back in the bedroom and Paizly sat out where it usually is and meowed at us. LOL She usually steals his food so I think she was looking for her snack. Silly girl.
I'm going to miss my snuggle buddy tonight. :( I wish I didn't have to work tomorrow so I could be home with him. But I will be home all weekend with him, that's for sure!!
Ok, I'm going to try to get some sleep now. I'll let you know when he is home. :)
great news
I'm so glad Taz did well that's wonderful!
Melissa
Great news about Taz...you have your hands full with those critters this week don't you?
That's for sure. Then last night I heard Zoee make a weird noise. It was like a cough but held inside. Like she just didn't open her mouth. I was like awww man, here we go already. But she only did it the once, so there's still a glimmer of hope there.
I have to look into the Bordatella shot and see how long it lasts.
Anyway, I am anxiously waiting for the doctor to call and say Taz can come home! :D :D
Oh, I had a dream that Taz was already home this morning when I got up. I was like - how did he get home? And then I guess we figured he came home on his own. LOL Dreams can be so weird. But he was happy to be home in my dream. :D
He's home!!! (But I'm not:()
Bruce said he is one pi$$ed kitty. He was doing the meow/growl on the way home.
They gave him a soft collar, at my request. We'll see how that goes.
I'll take some pictures of him tonight or this weekend (if he'll let me).
Thank you so much for all the kind thoughts and prayers. It means so much to me. :D :D

Well, I came to give an update. But I'm still trying to see through my tears after reading Katie's thread. :(
So I'll be brief and update more over the weekend. I saw him for about 5 minutes when I first got home. He seemed VERY happy to see me. It took a minute but I got him purring. Then he followed me while I read his paperwork from the vet and was rubbing against me, as best he could with the collar on.
I had to go feed the dogs and when I went back in he was hiding under the bed and would NOT come out. I kept talking to him telling him if he came out I'd take the collar off while I was with him for a break.
We went to dinner and when I got back he came out to see me again. I took his collar off and let him clean himself. I literally sat 6 inches from him while he cleaned and if he even got close to the incision I'd stop him. Oh, the looks he gave me...... I could only imagine what he was thinking.
OH, I gave him the medicine and he sat there like he was waiting for it. LOL Then I realized they only gave me enough for one dose. So I have to call tomorrow to get more. Unless they don't want him to have more.
The incision is about 4 to 5 inches long and has about 12 staples in it. So we have to go back in 10 - 14 days to remove them.
Ok, this is enough for now. More coming later and maybe even some pix.:)
Cindy, thank you for caring about Andy when you have a pitiful boy on your hands too.
Sorry I did not post earlier, I know you understand though.
I am SO glad Taz is home, and that he looks ok. Thats alot of staples! Poor guy, it is so hard when we must vet them, isnt it?
I can only imagine what he was thinking when you would not let him lick his ouchies, but he will forget soon enough!
I dont know about the meds? I thought they got pain meds for about 3 days?
I just always request it, and have never had any problems. Maybe his age had something to do with it.
I will look for the pictures, and I am so glad he purred for you. Cats are so special!
Prayers still going out to my favorite old fella Taz, and I pray he heals up quickly and perfectly!
That's great news that he's home!! :) Sounds like he's a good boy when it comes to taking his meds. :)
A speedy recovery to you, Taz!
Kirsten
Thank you Kirsten!
And Katie, you have a lot on your mind right now. To even take a minute to post for my guy means so much to me. You are such a special person. :)
I'm glad he is home. Sure hope his recovery is quick.
I'll be watching for more updates.
So I called the vet to ask about the meds. The girl I spoke to was in San Mateo, not the Concord office. She had to contact the Concord office and then get back to me. She calls me back after she looked up his chart and asked if I gave him 1cc. NO! I think I can read. I gave him between .1 and .2cc. She wanted to make sure I didn't overdose him. Geez, Bruce said the exact same thing last night.
So I went to the vet to pick up more meds and the nurse had syringes already full of the exact dosage. Why is everyone thinking I'm overdosing my damn cat!?! This hurt my feelings. They don't realize that Taz is my BABY.
Anyway, I've got more meds in case he needs it. I just want him to be comfortable. He's already irritated and keeps trying to come out of the room, but I don't want him running around out here.
He loves it when I take his collar off and let him clean his face and paws. I only leave it off of him while I'm right there with him so I can make sure he doesn't lick the incision. Last night he was Mr Sneaky and was licking on the other side of his leg where I couldn't see. Brat! :p
Oh, he was hissing at Paizly under the bedroom door. :( I guess it will be like starting all over again with the two of them once Taz is all healed up. That's okay though. My little man is going to be okay!!! :D :D
And I do owe a ton of HUGE thank you's to everyone here on PT for helping me through this. :)
They're probably just protecting themselves by measuring it out for you. Actually, I'm always thankful when they do that for me. Saves me the work and my eyesight, too. LOL I understand why you feel the way you do, though. Most importantly, Taz is on the mend. :D
Welcome Home, Taz!!!!!
So glad he's home and on the mend. Some home lovin' can be some of the best meds for him.
Gentle hugs to Taz today!
I'm so glad to hear that he's home now.:) My Storm is always very grumpy after he's been to the vet too. My vet's office actually marks the syringe with a red marker so that I'll know exactly how much medicine to give my furkids. I think it's a great idea. I hope that Taz heals up quickly and that his incision area doesn't become too itchy or uncomfortable.
Pics? Pics?
When he's feeling better, I guess.
Did the surgeon say what she thought the cysts were once she had them out? I gather they are kind of unusual.
Gentle kiss on the forehead!
Ok, here are a few pictures of my little man.
Please excuse the dirty floors in them, I've been preoccupied with him and Taggart this week. :o
So here is a good one of his belly. Sorry it's dark. The incision is hiding under that fold of skin there in the middle. LOL

I let him out to the rest of the house while the dogs were outside this afternoon. He was wanting to get out of that room for a while.
http://i133.photobucket.com/albums/q...ber2008018.jpg
And this is him modeling the lovely collar he must wear when I'm not with him.
Can't you tell he loves it? ;)
http://i133.photobucket.com/albums/q...ber2008021.jpg
That's it for now. I can't wait to get some of him once he is healed up and has all his hair back on his tummy. :D
He looks great considering what he's been through.:) Starr had the same kind of e-collar but ended up tearing his up. Some of my other cats were afraid of it too. They thought he looked weird. What does Paizly think of it?
Awe.. sweet boy!!! He looks very at ease after that surgery! Wow.
Gentle kisses to sweet Taz! Belly rubs when you are all healed!
Oh I love seeing the pictures. Aww dat belly! Thanks for sharing your Taz with us.
PInk Tummy! Taz, you look just so handsome...and you are feeling well enough to show attitude with the collar! ;)
I hope you feel better soon and never have to deal with those silly cyst things again. BYE BYE! to them forever!:D
