Yeah, that line of storms was nasty. It produced tornados here, but no local damage done to our complex. Just branches down.
Hope it passes Findlay quickly.

I hope everyone over there is ok!

well I didn't get OUT and look but there were some dogless people walking around the inside of the dog park.. The road to the park and around are open - I was able to go in and around. I didn't get out. With these extra appendages - I just didn't want to mess with it...
but I think barring any complications - we should be fine.
;)
Whooo!
May things stay dry for you all! Good luck!

I bet Cinder & Smoke could tell you, as they have stayed in Findlay - and some hotels base it on the weight/size of the dog, and you're all little!

Rates were cheap *IF* you bartered for a Good Deal with the Motel Office -
usually $35.00 per night PLUS Taxes = totaled about $41.00.
(They advertise a "best rate" of $45 per single occupancy, PLUS Taxes. Don't pay that much!)
EACH Dog is "supposed to be" an extra charge of $5.00 ... I just say the WEB Site says
"dog friendly" with no mention of Extra Charges!
We've never paid the Dog surcharge! :p
(And now I don't "mention" the Mutts at check-in, either.) :p
Now, the BAD News ...
They're CLOSED while they try to dry the place out! :(
They had flood water in the Basement and First Floor levels ...
STILL not accepting reservations as of Midnight Sun/Mon.
------------------------------------------------------------
Another Choice:
Red Roof Inn - Findlay
www.redroof-findlay.com
1951 Broad Ave (North off rte 224, just east of I-75)
Findlay, OH 45840
 CORRECTED PHONE #= (419) 424-0466
<deep sigh>
Monday Night Night Guy doesn't speak English so good, either ... claims they did NOT get flooded;
he said "rooms available" on Sat & Sunday nights (Sept 1 & 2) ...
"cheapest one person / one bed" was $49.00 PLUS Taxes = total of about $60.00 a night.
I'll keep calling around. :p
NOTE: Their Web rates are upwards of $65.00 per night!
I've bunked with them in Toledo for about $35.00 per night with all three Mutts ...
(mitta forgotten to "mention" the Mutts :p ) - but they say All Red Roofs are "pet friendly".
SOME Red Roofs have feedback saying they're pretty "ratty" or antiquated ...
Toledo Inn was nice two years ago.
I Never stayed in the Findlay Red Roof.
--------------------------------------------------
Do a Google.com search for "Findlay, OH" + Motel and you'll get tons of choices.
BE SURE to check on their Flood Condition ... the 1-800 reservation numbers
may not know if the pillows are still soggy.

Debby,
If your planning on coming maybe you could stay in another town close to Findlay. Just a thought.
I hope you'll be able to make it!
Looking forward to seeing everyone (thanks for the update Stac!)
Hey, Princess Mini and Princess Sierra could hang out together all day and have people serve them treats all day long!Quote:

The Dawg Park itself was under about a FOOT of water, as was some of the parking lot. :(
The Lil Bridge across the drainage "creek" floated away.
Thankfully, The Lodge, that new, large and pretty rental building near the road, was spared.
Tim reported that the Grounds Crews were going to start mowing again today -
the grass has gotten way ahead of them this last week. The Lil Bridge will be re-set
into it's proper place later today.
Hopefully, the Dawg Park and Pavilion #7 will be "presentable enough" for us on Sunday.
THANKS to all the Hard Working Park District Employees!
;)
Just thinking... *perhaps* a Plan B meeting place should be scouted out, just in case. ??? (Even if it is just brainstorming so that everyone isn't scrambling at the last moment if things don't go as planned/hoped.)

Wrap it all up and send it on Wednesday ... it should be delivered on Friday.Quote:

hopefully the Service Ranger will accept that as proof you mailed in the registration.
Bring LAST year's membership card if you still have it ... show's you're a Frequent Flyer.
Not a problem at all Robin!!Quote:

*When you sit on the bench, my Sherman will be very nearby, perhaps you'll feel him sitting there so serenely, waiting for a treat...he was such a good boy. Thanks for loving him as much as we did.

It's been days since it last "rained"; Thursday morning there was an hour of
"Fog/Mist" reported at the Findlay Airport.
With fair skys, warm temps, and a light breeze since then ~
the ole Bark Park might be almost "dry" by Sunday!
Bring your Sunny Glasses!

the same goes for me!Quote:

I'm starting to get sick though... :( I have a horrible cough and my chest feels like someone's sitting on it! :( Ugh... I feel like poop.
Looks like there is no need to do the sunshine dance... so I'm doing the make me feel better fast dance.
Pat... I still have the directions you wrote for me the last time (when I made the infamous trip through, around and back through Norwalk on my way to the park :o ) I found them above my sunvisor the other day!
I'm dancing with ya on that one Angie! Yesterday my throat hurt, today it is in my head. Breathing seems to be a challenge right now! Few more minutes til I can leave work and go home to bed!!Quote:

Carl & I were out running errands and stopped by the dog park to see how things were. There are no puddles of water - everything seems pretty dry. We really wanted to check out the smell factor. Some areas that are still drying out smell pretty bad. But there didn't seem to be any odors worry about. It was already gettng dark so we didn't stay long but with all the water we've had and the closeness to the river, I would suggest bug spray as a precaution.
The little bridge to the dogpark area looks a little worse for wear but quite usable.
Looking forward to Sunday! See you then!
Soooo ... wubber booties no longer required! :)Quote:

It was a beautiful day and we all had a great time. Good friends, great food, dogs, sun - what more could you ask for? Well, I guess Icould have done without the pain pills as they make me feel a little weird but.....
Here are a few of my pictures - which I found I had not taken as many as I thought I had after I got home - before I lay down to rest.
