That's good news. Does Peterson even try to eat? I thought maybe something like baby food, beef or chicken, would help get him interested in eating again. If you got the strained kind it might be easier to get down him. You could ask your vet about it. It may not be too good for cats. We had an old dog we fed it too when she lost all her teeth. It was kind of a last resort type of thing. I'm sure the vet knows more about this than I do. It was just an idea. I wondered about the little guy earlier but didn't want to bug you. All paws and fingers still crossed here for all of you! Please keep us posted.

Oh, what wonderful news!!!!!!! I am so, so relieved for you.:) My heartdog, the Lab of my life, passed from liver cancer, and I was so hoping that Peterson's biopsy would come back negative. Liver disease, however, is tough on a kitty!! So try not to despair over his appearance right now. The important thing is that you know now what it is, and he can be treated. The weight will come back slowly. Just take it a day at a time. Bless you precious Peterson. Hearing the good news has made my Easter extra special. Love and hugs to you dear boy, from Sandra, Mr. B and Oliver

Thank you all once again for all the well wishes and prayers. He is trying to eat a little bit. the vet said that it doesn't matter what he eats as long as he eats something. He did give him some special food and she is able to get some of it into him and he has been eating just a little bit of tapioca pudding and yogurt. Hopefully each day will get better even though we know he has a long way to go before he is out of the woods but every bite is a step in the right direction. Again thanks for all the prayers and Happy Easter to everyone.

jaundice kitty
I'm so glad to here the good news about Peterson.:D When I had to force feed my cat the vet gave me Hill's Prescription Diet a/d. I then diluted it with some water and put it in a big suringe tube that had a curved tip. Pepper hated it but he got stronger each day and recovered. My vet will only put a feeding tube in animals as a last resort. Good luck and my prayers will be with you.:)

Yes that is the same food that the vet gave to Peterson. They dilute it and put it into a syringe and give it to him that way. He is still eating the pudding and yogurt and today he had a big drink of water on his own. So maybe that is a good sign. Thanks for all the advice, support and prayers we have gotten on this list. As I said before, there are no people like cat and dog people.

So glad to hear Peterson is improving. Any little bit helps. Paw and fingers will remain crossed here until he is all better. Thanks for keeping us posted.

Good to hear Peterson is getting better. :) It's hard having a sick kitty on your/your daughter's hands, but at least you know what the problem is and that's half the battle. Tubby and Peanut send bumpies and nose kisses and hope Peterson continues to improve.

Sandra and friends,
Peterson is still the same. He is eating yogurt and tapioca pudding. they have to force feed him the special diet food that the vet gave them. My daughter thinks his nose is starting to look a little pink but I can't really say that I thought it was pink. Stilll looks yellow to me. He doesn't do too much but just lay around. His little brother Sean just can't understand why Peteson won't frolic and play like before or chase each other. So there really isn't much change but at least he isn't worse and that is the best news. the vet said he could stay like this for a week or 3 months. Just depends on how he responds to the meds. Time is the key. thanks for asking and keeping in touch. KAS

Glad Peterson is still doing better. It will probably take awhile for him to get his strength back. Paws and fingers still crossed for him here. Thanks for the update.

Glad to hear Peterson is still doing Ok. Doing the same is so much better than getting worse. He's hanging on and I'm sure he'll be back up and at 'em in no time, although it will probably take him awhile to get his full strength back. Poor kitty, give him scritchies from me and head bumpies and nose kisses from Tubby and Peanut. :)

Yes, while we wish he has shown great improvement, we have to be patient and be happy that at least he hasn't gotten worse. My daughter actually thinks he seems a little stronger yesterday and today. I guess we have to take improvement in little kitty steps. thanks for thinking of him.

Hi all....just a little update. Peterson seems to be doing a little bit better. He actually got up the other morning with my daughter and sat in the bathroom while she took her shower which he usually does every day but hasn't been doing since he got sick. He also went out into the front hall way of their apartment buidling which he hasn't done in weeks and then last night and this morning she got him to eat bonker treats on his own. He is still pretty yellow though. he has started to fight them a little bit with the force feeding but my feeling is that maybe he is fighting them because he is starting to feel better. At least I hope that is what it is. lets keep all finger and paws crossed.
