Da bore :p
I'm just reading this ... hope paddy will be ok I have a very soft spot for BC's.
BTW where are you in Wales.... before coming to the USA I made my home on angelsey.
Thanks Karen and D&D. :D
Thank you. :) Pads isn't a full BC though, he's more of a Sheltie size, in fact he looks like a BC/Sheltie cross to me.Quote:

Prayers on the way for Paddy, and for the family too... It must be so hard to have a really sick pet... (((hugs))) and stay strong Paddy!
Thank you. :) They actually have two sick pets now, their cat, Bella, is at the vets undergoing treatment too. :(
Paddy looks really sweet. I'm so sorry that his health is declining. I'll send lots of positive thoughts for him, and for Bella too. :)
Hang in there boy, and you too Bella!
Hugs to you and the family.
Thanks Randi. :)
I haven't checked back here in a while. I am so sorry to hear that both of their pets are not well. That has to be very hard. I will keep them all in my prayers.
Thank you, and more thanks to you all for your continuing prayers and thoughts. However it has occured to me that I may have given a too gloomy impression of our Paddy. Not in the state of his health, the prognosis for how long he will be around is not good, not good at all, but the boy himself quite sprghtly, especially given his age too. He tends to sleep a lot more and has become a little tetchy but he still loves to go out for a walk - he was so happy to see the snow the other week! - but of course he has to be restricted from running around much.
Once again, many thanks to you all. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...lies/Hugs2.gif
Dear Chris -- I am so happy to know that Paddy is still "kicking"! I notice that you first posted about him in September last year, so for him to still have a good quality of life six months later is excellent.Quote:

I am concerned that he should be taking some antibiotic, but the vet has not prescribed it. I wonder -- was Paddy treated with antibiotic?
My 'lil Shorty is still happy and has a good quality of life, and I'm hoping that with proper management he will have as much more time with us as possible. Paddy's story gives me hope. God bless!

Chris, Paddy looks like such a sweetheart of a pup - you can add my prayers to the list too. But I am really glad to hear that he has had more time than you initially thought.
Holy Cow I lived in Wrexham for a year lol.... ( up by the old closed down steel works. I moved from there pretty fast.) do you think we should really confuse folks and start talking in welsh lol.
I'm from across the border so my welsh is text book and very rusty ....:o
Thanks Gini. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...tachment-1.gif
Oh, I am sorry to hear about your boy having the same thing as Paddy.Quote:

Good thoughts and prayers on the way for your boy. Please give him a kiss from me.
It's a small world as they say! :D I live more in Wrexham town itself, well, close anyway. I'm not familiar the old steelworks area, are you talking about Brymbo steelworks?Quote:

Some news about our Pads, but not good I'm afraid. Not his heart/lungs, he's been doing well on the medication, surpassed all expectations, it's something entirely different, diagnosis is he has the equivalent to senile dementia in humans.
Poor old fella has gradually been losing control of his bodily functions, only managing to eat if he's hand fed home cooked food and now his sight is failing plus he's losing his sense of direction.
When they took him to the vet tonight the he said there are some pills they could try but there hasn't been any reported success with them. His opinion was it would be kinder to put him to sleep, he would if it were his dog.
They didn't want it done right then, Jayne, my dil especially, so they took him home. She wants to spend some time with him, take him out somewhere he enjoys going, take some pictures.
They did take the pills with them, who knows if they will help or not. I hope so.
It has to be one of the hardest thing in the world doesn't it, saying that final goodbye to an old friend. :(
I will update when and if.
I'm glad Paddy is still with the family even through he's getting senile.
He's had two good years since you last spoke of him, Poor old pup is no
different then most older people when it comes to ageing.Prayers that
Paddy stays happy & comfortable.
