Thinking about some of the junk I've gone through with a particular "friend" of mine.....I hate when people are afraid to tell you that there's something you do or say that bothers them. Or when people can't be up front when there's something wrong. I mean, it's so much easier to fix things when people are willing to help you see the bad sides of your personality. Instead of waiting til things are so built up that they just blow up. And, then, when you ask for help on how to change things, they can't offer you any suggestions, because, at that point, they're combining all the little things into one big problem. Good grief, that probably makes no sense. But, basically, how is someone supposed to change or improve or grow if no one is willing to say "hey, quit being a brat". And, I have actually had a couple people in my life that can and do tell me when I'm being ignorant or childish. And, those are the people I hold dearest. :) People who are afraid to put their friends in their place when it's needed....I can't have really good relationships with people like that. It's a fault, I know. But, it works for me. Most of the time. Gosh, i told you I was a flibbertigibbet. ;)
This is a huge thing with me. My kids never did this to me in public. They knew better. I've embarassed more than one of my family members by giving unattentive parents a dirty look when they let their child act like a brat in public.Quote:
