I even got him a very soft/sensitive squeaky toy and he just will not squeeze it, he just holds it so delicately in his mouth :D. He gets so excited when I squeeze it and he seems to want to squeeze it, he'll even bat it with his paw but once it's in his mouth he holds it very lightly. I suppose that is a trait hunters would want in their retrievers though! He did used to chew things up when he was younger including his tennis balls.
