In fact, it's exactly like Portland, RIGHT NOW!:)
ha!!! They are having typical Vancouver weather....for me it will be just like home. Rain??? Bring it on.....
**apologies to California ** ;)
Laurie, pleeze say you can make it!! :)
Carole, don't fret. Soon there may be a 2007 Down Under thread started. :)
Are there any dates on this yet?
I think the time is down to sometime NOT during high tourist season (or, Summer). Other than that it's wide open for suggestions/opinions. But Val, LA BBQ is right around the corner. Any chance?
Val, I'm waiting for the LA BBQ to be overwith and then Gini and I can resume discussions. I'm strongly leaning towards going end of April/beginning of May but it depends on so many other things.Quote:

I would love to go to the UK! I will definitely think about it :)
End April/ beginning of May would be purrfect for me:)
As I were looking for something completely different, I just had to look at some places I know in England.

These are just a few of the destinations. In either of these links, do take a look at “ Get advice from other travellers” in the left side. :)
Wow, I really hope this is going to happen!! I would rather advize May over April, as England has about same weather as Belgium, even more wet.
Oh, me too. Lut!! :DQuote:

If you do all get here, (*hoping and wishing* :) ) beside visiting England, Scotland and Ireland I hope some of you can fit in a look at my part of the UK too, there some really gorgeous places to see. :)
This site should give you some idea of what they are, check out the link on the left to landscapes ...
Wales - Cymru
... and the link to the Big Country tourist TV ads. :D

You live in Wales, Chris? Wow, it is just BEAUTIFUL up there! We visited Wales in 1981! I remember seeing Mount Snowdonia! I also remember we stayed at a bed&breakfast place: we couldn't pronounce the name of it. Also, we stood in front of that house, and even then we didn't recognize the name on our paper on the house   .
Thanks, Lut! I am so happy that you liked our little corner of the world. :DQuote:

As for place names in our language, (Europe's oldest), how about trying to pronounce this, the longest place name in the world ...
Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysilio gogogoch

In English it means 'St Mary's (Church) by the white aspen over the whirlpool, and St Tysilio's (Church) by the red cave'.
And before you ask, no, I can't pronounce it either! :D
