Hi 4feline, so sorry about Cosmo. My Buddy (also rainbow bridge) loved dental floss also. He was a Himalayan, and to see him with dental floss (or any string for that matter) coming out of both sides of his mouth, you know like whiskers....still brings back fond memories. He never swollowed it, but used to like to carry it around, until I saw him that is, and gently took it away from him. Maybe thats where Jazz got the idea that dental floss was great fun http://PetoftheDay.com/talk/smile.gif

The Abys, especially Ms Wynki, love dental floss, and will root about in the waste baskets for it. Having had a good friend who learned the hard, and expensive, way from her plumber that you can't flush it, we roll the used floss in a little ball and put it in an old mayo jar kept in the master bath for that purpose. Visiting friends have been known to react strangely.

That is a brilliant suggestion! I will try it, its a no way are you going to get into this strategy....thanks http://PetoftheDay.com/talk/biggrin.gif

Thats funny! Zoey my baby kitty does the same thing! She is obsessed with the milk cap ring! Does your kitty like to carry around ziploc bags?? For some reason Zoey does!

I was reminded of another good toy when I bought a new blusher compact recently. I have a good, expensive blusher brush, so I toss those useless dinky little blusher brushes they put in compacts these days. I toss them right to the cats, because they love to "kill" them, and it keeps them away from my expensive brush!

My cat is not into plastic bags, but he does carry some weird things around the house sometimes....And I like the idea of giving him my old make-up brushes, he would try to 'kill' it. That is so funny. The milk jug rings are on vacation since he got a couple of new 'mice'. They are cat nip filled and he hangs out with them alot. Then he gets really frisky and sometimes will do the milk jug rings again...but he sort of has lost interest in them....I wonder why?

This reminds me of my cat Scooter. He has lots of store bought toys, but he really isn't interested in them.
His absolute favorite is plastic drinking straws. He will take them right out of people's cups. He is too cute when he starts flinging the straws around.
When I moved from my last apartment I found literally dozens of straws under the beds, sofas, stove etc.

How bold!! I love it! Isn't that just like a cat? They really take what they want. Jazz is also a very bold kind of cat. He is not above taking food off someones plate or anything like that....that is if he can get close enough...I think thats why cats are labled sneaky...but I like the straw thing, I bet Jazz would like to play with those too!

Two Thanksgivings ago, I had a basket of mixed nuts in the shells on the coffee table. Big Mac took a liking to the walnuts and kept flicking them out of the basket to play with them. We moved the next July and found walnuts under all the furniture. We packed them in the box with the other cat toys, and today he still has walnuts in his toy box and around the house!

That is so cute! What they won't find to play with! I am always amazed. I just started a new part time job and my cat Jazz is a little lonely...I have to find some new things for him to play with. Maybe I'll just leave a bowlful of walnuts (with shells still on of course so they roll around) on the coffee table. Perhaps they will keep him amused while I am at work.

I give Hollow (my one cat out of four who likes toys) all kinds of household things to play with... like toilet paper rolls when the toilet paper is gone! I had to stop giving him the "milk" rings (mine were from other beverages, I"m lactose intollerant!) becuase he was eating them!!! Chewing it into little pieces and swallowing! LOL This fat cat will eat anything http://PetoftheDay.com/talk/wink.gif

Kodak Moment the malamute/husky, Keesha Marie the cocker/field spaniel?, Fuji Film the chow/aussie?, Secretariat and Grem Lynne the unrelated brown tabby and white DSH, Hollow and Sparky, father/daughter black DSH, Cheyenne Autumn my pride and joy TB, Matastar's Morning Star my Rocky Mountain horse colt, and the birds!

I had a fat cat once who would eat anything! Except people food that is! But seriously, Jazz (my not fat cat) started eating the softer kind of milk jug rings so I can't give him those anymore. They are like the things you pull off of frozen orange juice cans. I guess they are just too soft. He can easily chew them into little pieces and I think he did swallow some because I never did find it all. Thankfully he suffers no ill effects http://PetoftheDay.com/talk/smile.gif
