How horrible the momma doggy's owner was!! Throw them away! She needs to be thrown away!!
Glad the pups made it to your shelter and that you are taking care of the those 2 adorable pups. You're awesome!

Ohhhhh, they are just soooo precious!
Aly, something has been bugging me about the boarding kennel and the woman who owned the mother of the pups.
She can just do this......say, I don't want the pups - dump them?
Is she not held financial responsible in any way? (she has an extra $3,000. now right?).
Many people including yourself are going the extra mile for these babies....and it seems your shelter should be compensated in some way.
Is this woman a professional breeder? I would think it would be handy if the word got out about her.
Also, if the mother is so valuable, why aren't these pups valuable too? Or was the father from "out of town"?
Gini,
I actually have no idea. I only got bits and pieces of the story in my ear while I was concentrating on taking care of the puppies. I am pretty sure it was a professional breeder, but this pregnancy was accidental. And something about how he couldn't sell the mom if she was nursing. The dad is also a champion show dog I believe. We do know he was a pure Lab also.

Aly, you are an absolute angel for taking those precious pups! Stupid b**ch of a person, "throw them away"....what is wrong with them!?!?!?!?!
Another thing needs to be said too, thank god the pups were at the boarding kennel. Imagine what the person would have done if the pups were born at their house.....that person probably would have been able to "throw them away".
Evil awful.......GRRRR! Well, now they are in the best hands they could be....yours. Yay!:)
Just want to chime in here and say you are an ANGEL, Aly. Thank you for taking on these sweet pups.
I can't believe what evil, soul-less person would "throw away" God's precious little creatures, these tiny living things.
Let me know if there's anything I could help with - I live fairly close and travel in to Austin every day for work.
They are so cute! If I lived closer, I would definitely get one of these cuties. How sad that they are not allowed to have at least one month with the momma doggy. Isn't it also bad for her?
Aly, I just saw this today! Aren't they precious!!! Of course, you are a true ANGEL.
How are the little puppettes doing today? And yourself???
Aly,
How are you and the two babies? Do you have any new pictures to share? I'll bet they're getting bigger! :)
come on Aly, stop keeping us in suspense ;)
:D
The babies and I are doing great. They just turned 8 days old today and I've had them for a week. I am finally able to switch them to feedings every 3-4 hours instead of every 2 hours.
I think I should rename Sebastian to Chunk because that boy is HUGE! He's so much bigger than little Piper and he's quite the pig. Piper is the vocal one of the two. She cracks me up because she reminds me of a roly poly (or however you spell it). Sometimes she'll roll over on her back and get stuck, hehe.
And pictures? Did someone say pictures????? ;) :D

I moved them off the newborn bottle and on to a bigger bottle because they're eating much more at a time :)

Look at the chunky boy compared to his sister!
