All things take time.....and understanding.
Don't worry....it's the flakes they like. They have had Corn flakes, Wheaties and Total on a very limited basis. They eat very little anyway so I don't push too much on them at a time. Can't be feeding them stale food!!!
T_M, you don't seem to be very open with people's suggestions. No offense, but your acting pretty stubborn with all of this. You ask for advice, we give you advice you say you've tried it already. Well, we're trying too. What do you want from us?
Maybe you should try this out. Good luck.Quote:
Just going off what you would do with a horse or cat in this kind of situation but maybe you should get the vet check out Cheeko.
i agree to take him to the vet. you said you never brought him before:( but did you afterwards?
:( poor cheeko.
Yes I agree as well...take him to the vet ASAP!
Ok, I know that everyone is trying to help, but most of the posts I read are just plain hurtful or rude...I hear accusations and assumations before questioning...:(...
That's a good idea, but I'm not sure that it would be great to take an already-stressed out bird to a vet, and we don't have any vets that make house calls unless an emergency...Wouldn't it be better to just call a vet?Quote:

Whenever Tikeyas_mom makes a statement about her dog, she always includes the breed, probably for the sake of new people..If you don't believe me go check her posts.Quote:
How is her breed an excuse for you allowing her to be in a situation where she could kill another pet?
There are cockatiels at the petstores near me, and in the one that lets you touch the birds, there is a displayance of all that Tikeyas_mom has described here...It's not just her bird remember, there are others with cases like this, so please don't single her out and act like she doesn't know zip, because she's not the only one...
And this only twelve posts in...Quote:
Why is Cheeko so difficult? If I had to live with somebody like you, I think I'd be pretty difficult and mean too.
See? She's only asking for different training tactics instead of the ones given before...:)...That's all...so if no one knows anymore, than they should probably just keep irrelevant comments to themselves ;)Quote:
THEY DONT WORK FOR ME, HER TRAINING TATICKS DONT WORK, THEY DONT WORK
I know people here hate me for constantly defending the people who get picked on:(
I am trying not to be rude but I am confused with what she wants. I know nothing about taming a bird, but PCB and others give her pretty good ideas and they "never work." Maybe asking her vet what she can do about it might help? I don't know. I wish her the best of luck because I want Cheeko to be able to feel comfortable with his owner.
You are right. There have been a couple of responses that could have been left out. A couple of them made me uncomfortable too. But some are really constructive and the people who wrote them are truly trying to help. You and Tikeya's Mom are good friends, aren't you? Maybe you can help her too. Perhaps if she joined a community (forum) of bird owners she could find something else that might work. At least in a "bird only" community, there would be larger number of responses. I think some people are reacting the way they are because she has been talking about getting another pet when this one needs so much help right now.
Hope some of this will help! :)
Like a bird forum? That's a good idea :)Quote:

Well, we've only gone so far as exchanging conversation on the phone lol..We've tried to meet, but it seems like every time we are going to, something comes up  lolQuote:

That was very nice Jessica.
Thanks for the site Jess. :)
Amy is a wonderful person, maybe you're the thick head who can't get it through. I feel sorry for your animals. Maybe you should give the bird to someone that isn't annoyed by him. Maybe you should think about things BEFOR you go about them. Sort of like you should think about your posts befor you click on that "Submit Reply".
I'm sorry, but Amy wasn't very nice when she typed this:Quote:

They weren't even arguing at that point. So she must have typed that for the heck of it :rolleyes:Quote:
