Thanks everyone.:) I'm still waiting to hear about his PTH blood test results. Hopefully I'll know something on Monday or Tuesday at the latest. The last few days Storm seems to be more tired and he just wants to sleep. He's still eating fairly well but not as well as he was earlier in the week. I hope that it's just old age that's catching up with him and nothing more serious. Please send some positive vibes his way. Thanks.:)

Yes, he's a senior boy. I've had him for a little over 11 years now and when I adopted him my vet said he was around 1 year old so that would make him 12 years old. I celebrate his birthday on Jan.11th because this is also his gotcha day. He goes back to see my holistic vet either in June with Sky or in Sept. with Starr. She said it all depends on how he's doing.Quote:

Hi I just received Storm's PTH blood test results and this is what my vet said:
I in fact just received his results. While his ionized calcium is slightly elevated, his PTH and vit D levels are normal. The interpretation from the endocrinologist suggests that these findings of mild elevated ionized calcium is of questionable significance. Idiopathic hypercalcemia has questionable significance in cats. I have no evidence that we are dealing with cancer or with something called granulomatous disease (because his has no signs, and because this phosphorous levels are normal). In other words, I think Storm is just fine. We will continue to watch his his calcium and phosphorous levels, but at this time, I do not recommend further action.
So for now everything is fine and we'll just watch his calcium and phosphorous levels. Thanks again for keeping him in your thoughts and prayers.:)
