Yes there are, for dogs at least. http://mbdca.tripod.com/ is the website for the mixed breed dog clubs of America, see if there's one near you. :)

If I were to register Jasper in the MBDC of California, he could compete in obedience, rally, tracking, and conformation.

For conformation..."The conformation standard is designed to promote a happy and healthy family dog and focuses on general soundness and balance as well as excellent temperament and manners...."

They are also involved with agility, search & rescue, flyball, frisbee, and pet therapy. Any dog registered must be neutered. :) Overall, a pretty cool organization!
