I'm not sure how I feel about it. Things are are listed as against the rules should be penalized, but I think teams are always looking for an extra advantage, and if they went over every car in the field with a fine tooth comb, there would be some things found that maybe weren't specifically against the ruels, but maybe weren't exactly listed as being legal either.
I do know Tony is on a roll... Go 20!!!
Here's where I have a problem with NASCAR and their penalties.
Mark Martin had a problam 2 years ago with his car in a post race inspection. The coil length on one of the springs on his car was 1/8" too short. Not 1/8" in height, but if you straightened out the spring, the length of the straightened spring was 1/8" under spec. Absolutely NO competetive advantage whatsoever, and MIGHT have saved 1/2 ounce or so of weight.
They fined him 25 drivers points, and fined Roush $25,000.
The holes in the bolts that they fined Evernham motorsports for gave no competetive advantage, but they fined Evernham Motorsports, suspended crewchiefs, and took points. They didn't find these holes in PRE race inspection why?
The same goes for Kenseth's car. They didn't find the holes in the body work during PRE qual tech inspection?
If they passed pre qual tech, why weren't the Pre-qual tech inspectors fined?
Gordon's car, from what I've heard, wasn't an inch low overall, it was an inch low in one measurement are because a shock was improperly installed. A shock that NASCAR WATCHED the team install, as NASCAR issues and seals the shocks used on the car before qualifying.
NASCAR needs to get their act together, and stop re-writing the rule book on the fly. They also need to get their inspection process down so teams aren't getting fined by one inspector for something another inspector passed.

Should be fun!
GO TONY GO!!!!
Hehehehe...well, that accident just made my day! :p :)
Oh man, I was on pins and needles. So close...Almost! Wish they would have thrown the caution as soon as the wreck happened...lol.
Martin handles it like the gentleman and pro that he is. :)
Congrats to Harvick!

Guuuuulp.
Somebody please pass the tissues to me and my daughter. Both of us were crying like babies on the phone together. Great job Mark!!! What a show buddy!!!
We still think Mark was ahead when the final caution was thrown. Waaa waaa waaa!! :(
CONGRATULATIONS KEVIN!!! :D
I was really pulling for mArk at the end, but I don't dislike Kevin. I was just really hoping Shrub didn't get up there and win it....but he didn't have to take out half the field losing it :D
Woo Hoo!!! Way to go, Matt Kenseth. Nice sweep!
AND, a nice 5th place finish for Mark Martin.
I'm happy :D
Tony finished in the top 10! After a 43rd at CA last winter, and a 43rd at Daytona last week...I'm happy too! All three JGR cars ran pretty well! Espically JJ!
Congratulations Matt!!! :) :D :D :)

:) :) :) I thought the entire incident was handled pretty well by both parties. They were gracious gentlemen :) I guess the young Mr. Busch was real mad at himself though. :( That's hilarious Phred!!Quote:

My 2nd Nextel cup race, and the 2nd in Phoenix!! Somewhat ironic, since MIS is only an hour away, but I am going to California for work the week before the race, and Phoenix was a cheap $75 flight away, so I decided to go see my aunt and uncle and cousins Thursday-Sunday. What better to do Saturday night, then visit the local race track?!?
