NOTHING by mouth except small sips of water for 24 Hours.
If the Vet needs to X-ray or Ultrasound him - they'll want him "empty" ...
so starting him on a Fast tonight would help.
Feel Better, Bub!

I'm sorry to hear that he still isn't feeling better. I will keep Chipper in my thoughts that he starts to feel better soon.
But he's fasted for over 48 hours already. :( Two handfuls of food is the equivilant of what he had on Sunday. Pooped this morning and has had no food. I can't imagine a more empty tummy. How long can they go without food?

A dog in otherwise good condition can go several DAYS
without solid food - as long as he stays hydrated with water.
I'd leave him on "empty" till the Vet gets a look and runs some tests.
He MAY have a food alergy - and just a few pieces of kibble could be
enough to trigger the upsets.
I STILL can't find any info on the "DACCP" vaccination - could you be misreading the letters?
His "Fees"??
Extra $25.50 for License? For Rabies? For "storage"?
LOTS of Rescues charge a "Flat Fee" which includes spay/neuter (IF required) -
everyone pays the SAME fee regardless of the critter's spay/neuter needs.
oh no Chipper get well soon big boy!!
:( I hope the vet can figure out what's wrong, poor guy. Star used to go without any food for 3 days at a time. No special reason, she just didn't feel like eating, I guess. I suppose when Chipper feels like it, he'll eat.
I'm sorry to hear that Chipper isn't getting better. :( I hope he'll be ok!
Nebo has gone over a week with eating practically nothing.....he doesn't like to eat away from home. He lost about 9 lbs when we went to Florida/Ohio because he wouldn't eat his food, only treats and water. He was fine, but he wasn't thin to begin with like Chipper.
It sounds like he needs to go to the vet asap. I hope it turns out to be nothing serious. :( he'll be in my thoughts. (((Chipper))) please keep us updated.
Sorry I just saw this, Kim.
Tons of prayers for Chipper. It's so upsetting to watch our pets ill and leaving us baffled. Please let us know what the vet says.
I gave Cody a small amount of turkey only once and learned my lesson. He had a cast iron stomach but the turkey just about did him in. He also passed some blood, but the vet thought it was due to bowel irritation. For the first time since I've had her, I gave Logan a teeny piece of plain cooked chicken tonight, and she is laying behind me..and the room stinks. Gas butt. A first. No more people food for her, except her Special K treat.
I truly hope Chipper's back to good health soon!
I'm so sorry to hear that Chipper isn't feeling well.:( I hope that it isn't anything serious and that the vet will be able to help him. Lots of prayers and positive thoughts are being sent his way. Please continue to keep us updated about him.
FEEL BETTER CHIPPER!! You'll all remain in our thoughts and prayers :(
Good healing vibes on the way for sweet Chipper.. i realy hope the vets can figure out what is going on with him asap. {{Hugs}} For you both.
Wow... just caught up on Chipper. Hope that he is better soon and that the vet can figure out what is going on. Good luck.
Kimmy,
Get him to the vet!!! All of these symptoms are classic signs of parvo. The incubation period is 14 days and until he has had 3 shots of the vaccine he is not fully protected and even then it's not a guarentee. I've seen perfectly healthy adult dogs who are fully vaccinated come down with because the virus mutated and they got a different strain.
Even with the water, he is losing electolytes, so will probably need sub Q fluids.
Let us know!!
