Prayers for Pearl.
I am sending tons of prayers for Pearl.. Add many *HUGS* for meowmie. I hope they can determine what is wrong with her, and she can get better really soon. Katie and kitties
Hi everyone. Thanks so much for all of the PT prayers. Once again they've worked wonders.:) Pearl's now home and is feeling much better. When they brought her out to me she was meowing very loudly as if to tell me all about her day. She also talked to me a little in the car. She was very hungry and ate all of her food and also drank some water.:)
As of 4:30pm her temp was back down to 102.8 which is almost normal so hopefully it's normal now. The doctor thinks that she has some kind of a bacterial infection so it shouldn't be contagious to my other cats. She had 2 antibiotic injections, some IV fluids, and it says vettestCBC/Chem12/Electrolyts whatever that is. I''m not sure if they did some bloodwork or not. She's also on cefa drops 2 times a day until they're gone. She has another appointment on Mon. morning at 9am for a recheck. Hopefully I'll know more then.
Storm hissed at her,I knew he would, Starr was very happy to see her and just sniffed her and licked her, Ziggy was also happy to see her and Sunny and Sky didn't seem to have any kind of reaction towards her. She has both of her front paws partially shaved and has been licking them. I think it's now safe to say that she's out of the woods. Thanks again for all of your concerns.:)
CBC stuff is human version of complete blood work up.
Glad she is feeling better and they figured out what was wrong.
I'm glad to hear your baby is home! :)
I'm so glad to hear she is better and back home.
Keep it up Pearl!!!
Good news! Welcome home, cross-eyed baby Pearl!
I am so glad to hear the update!
I missed this thread so I always like the ones I come in late on with happy endings. :)
Does Eosinophilic ulcer sound familiar? Kylie has that. My vet told me it is an allergic reaction from flea bites.
All of us from Wisconsin are happy to hear your little girl is doing better. I woke up and the first thing I was going to do was check on your little girls updates. I understand your concern the meezers just manage to get themselves so entangled in your heart you are lost without them. Anyway I am so glad to hear she is doing better. Let us all know if something changes. Give Pearl a big hug from all of us. :D
Glad to hear the good news! :) :D
Yes, I think that this is what they called it because it was some kind of an ulcer. I just looked it up and here's a link about it:Eosinophilic Ulcer.Quote:

Pearl continues to do well and is a little more active today. She's eating very well but is still sneezing from time to time. She was also very easy to medicate and I hope that this will continue. I think she knows that I'm trying to help her.:) Storm is still hissing at her and Pearl wants some comforting from him but he's so aggressive towards her. It's so sad to watch.:( I hope that by tomorrow Storm will love his little sister again.
Thanks again for all of your concerns. I'll continue to keep you updated about her. Hopefully I'll know more after her recheck visit on Mon. morning.:)
well my vet said it was an allergic rxn caused by the bites. Kylie has had it all her life - and she was a barn cat and I noticed when she did have fleas it flares up - but of course she also has an allergic skin condition to flea bites too.Quote:

Awww Storm, please don't be mean to Pearl, she needs her big brother right now for some comfort.
Prayers on the way that Pearl and Ziggy continue to do well.
I'm getting to this thread late, but glad to hear the outcome of the vet visit. :)
Glad to know it wasn't too serious. :)
