I've only ever owned feamle, and probably only will ever own females because I have a serious issue with the aesthetic appearance of certain male dog anatomy (especially the larger breeds, which is all I'll ever own)
I get soooo grossed out in class when my make pups get "excited" :o so I just couldn't ever have a male dog of my own.
Now the same anatomoy in cats is an entirely different story since its nowhere near as obvious! LOL
I have had many dogs over the years both male and female and many different breeds. Its always the girls. Female Collie (great dog), female Springer (wonderful) ,female R.Ridgeback (love of my life), female Presa/Corso/Pit (The best dog). The males were miniature poodle (crazy) Bit my lip off,bit my hand,face,arm.All at different times. Then a JRT he was bull headed and not affectionate. Last is the male R.Ridgeback. Nice dog, but no cuddles there.So my vote is for the Dames!

Both! Molli can be moody sometimes, but from my experience training seems to go easier with females. Males are so happy all the time, they're fun to be around. Sam did mark things (like legs!) when he was a pup, but nuetering fixed that problem right up... and let me tell you how happy I am! IMO they are both joys to have around, no matter the gender.
I prefer males. In my experience, they tend to be more relaxed, calm and laid back than females. :)
I don't really care. Males are the ones who tend to think they are dominant more, but it really doesn't matter. I love our little girl though.
