All-time favorite band is BareNaked Ladies! They are so fun in concert! I last saw them New Year's Eve 2004 in Tampa, FL!
I also enjoy most of the 80's type bands.
Favorite singer would be John Mellencamp, an Indiana boy! I have seen him in concert more times than I can remember! Was something of a "groupie" when I was in college!
I have to tell you, that one of my "claims to fame" is that I went to high school with Axl Rose from Guns N Roses! He was then Bill Bailey! He didn't graduate, but he probably makes more money than any of the over 500 in the graduation class! Haven't seen him since I spotted him at an event in Lafayette (IN) many years ago... he had come back for a visit, I guess!
Also, a friend of mine is a drummer, and has played with John Mellencamp and Bob and Tom. He has partied at John's house in Seymour, IN! (Before we knew one another or you can bet I would have been there also!) My friend's dad was the bass player for Chubby Checker, so he comes by his drumming talents very naturally! I envy his talents as a musician. He is very good, and made a living at it (raising a family) for many years!
U2
U2
U2
and oh yeah, U2 of course. :D
I don't really have favorites since the type of music I listen to changes frequently. Right now I'm listening to...
The Steve Miller Band
Sweet
Pink Floyd
Led Zeppelin
Van Halen
Def Leppard (my daughter loves the beat to "Pour Some Sugar on Me") :)
Metallica
Megadeth
AC/DC
Trooper
There are more, but I forgot! :p
The Beatles
The Flaming Lips
The Shins
The White Stripes
Nick Drake
Spoon
U2
Stevie Wonder
Sigor Ros
Beck
Magnetic Fields
Radiohead
...and many more!!
YAY! Someone finally mentioned Alan Jackson! He is my favorite for sure and I have seen him twice in concert. :) High up there on my list is also Brad Paisley, Brooks & Dunn and Sugarland. There are many more but these especially get me to crank up the car radio. :)Quote:

Lots of ppl like Greenday even if there's a bad side or good. :p
I personnally find green day very offensive. I do not like enjoying a song and then someone comes and interrupts it with a bunch of cursing. I do not like listening to music that talks about gross bad stuff. Or getting my ears blown out by that crazy mix up of stuff. Why can you not create music with out all the cursing the badness? What is so great about hearing all that???? Rap is the same. Music is a gift that only the people who use it wisely should have not the people who destroy the sanctity of it (i don't know if sanctity is the word but something like that). Music is a gift a privilege. Something that should not be abused.
My two all-time favorites: Bob Marley & Lynyrd Skynyrd. :D I couldn't live without their music.
And then there is....
JamisonParker
hellogoodbye
Jack's Mannequin
Shiny Toy Guns
Scary Kids Scaring Kids
Silverstein
Funeral for a Friend
Hawthorne Heights
Willie Nelson
Saves the Day
Hank Williams(sr)
Johnny Cash
Odd Project
Seether
Something Corporate
Stephen Lynch
The Academy Is...
Tom Petty
Damian Marley
Cursive
Donovan Frankenreiter
The Allman Brothers Band
The Like Young
And I'll stop there... though I could go on longer, but I won't^^.
You must have only heard the bad songs that Green Day has. They have alot of songs with no swear words and gross things in it. I personally don't like to listen to a bunch of swear words either.Quote:
