I am 51 and think I still think of myself as a young mom around 30 or so.
But, the body is starting to age and I sure do feel it sometimes.

I am smiling at those of you who give your age as ___ and "say soon to be" ___. I stopped doing that a long time ago! I prefer to say "I am 59 but used to be 58." LOL! The worst part about growing older is finding out that you can't do as much as you used to do without paying for it the next day with a new ache or pain. Most days I feel just fine although, like David, I can feel that my knees are aging faster than the rest of my body.
This is your "golden" birthday! Day & age match! Have fun.Quote:

My sister has that problem. She's 20 but looks 12. She's only 5' and that has a lot to do with it. She was recently asked which middle school she goes to. She had to explain to them that she's been out of high school for almost 2 years.Quote:

I'm 28 (will be 29 in a month and a half). People tell me I look younger and I feel older than 28.
Tired all the time. :(
Heh, I am 17 and will be turning 18 on July 15th. I feel about ten half of the time but the other half I feel, well, about 30. I am usually smiling and joking and being weird when I feel about ten. When I am aggravated or hurting is when I feel about thirty.
I know Troy feels very wide ranged about this. He is 29 (Thirty in December). He still gets carded for cigarettes (and alcohol)! So, he feels about sixteen when that happens but when he is hurting or pissy or depressed he feels about ninety. Pics so you can see how young he is/looks! http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...nie/TandA2.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...nie/TandA1.jpg

I have that problem, too. I am about 4 foot 9 inches. Eep! :eek:Quote:

I'm 43 and sometimes my body feels 43 or older but when I look at friends my same age I think I look younger...like 35. I go out and do things people my age don't do..rock concerts from new bands, dancing etc.
I was at a Denny's having breakfast with my mom a while ago..she's 63 but acts/looks 80 plus. I saw this young girl..maybe 14, come in with ALOT of older people in wheelchairs, walkers etc. I gathered she was the grandaughter/grandniece etc..related..not just doing service.
She looked so bored and she was wearing a Green Day teeshirt..they had just been at a HUGE show the weekend before. I went to the counter to pay for our meal and asked her if she'd been to the show. Her face just lighted up and I told her "that's the best show you'll ever see" ..she said to me ...HOW DO YOU KNOW ABOUT GREENDAY???!!!!
I just laughed and said, honey, I was punk before you were born. LOL..I actually know the lead singer who is a sweetheart and she was blown away..
It was a ying and yang..she thought I was too old to possibly know HER band but she also thought it was so kewl I could relate to her..
Kitten
:D Brilliant. I'm with you there. I'm 41, but my knees are probably on a par with yours. Old football injuries, sports medicine wasn't the science in the seventies it is today.Quote:

I turned 24 today. Somtimes I feel like the oldster among my freinds...only because it baffles me on how emotionally immature some people can be. :p But, when I'm out playing with Shiloh or the cats or just being outside in general, it makes me feel like a kid again. (maybe I should go play in a mud puddle lol)
IMO physical age doesn't make a lot of difference. Its the mental maturity that counts. I have friends as young as 15 to as old as 70 and learn things from every one of them. :D
I'm 30, but I'mnot ready to let go of my youth. While most people my age are taking their kids to their sporting events or coaching T-ball teams,, I'm still running to volleyball, soccer and softball myself!! Sometimes after all those games, I definately feel my age, but it hasn't stopped me yet!!!
