I saw 300 and Long Way Round, American Beauty and the Chumscrubber.
300 was OK.
Long Way Round was fantastic. 5 days after watching it I am still engrossed by the whole premise of riding a motorcycle around the world....
Am Beauty and Chumscrubber are the kind of quirky movies I love. :D
I just watched Vacancy and it was so scary! I loved it. I've also rented 1408, Evan Almighty and Planet Terror from the Grindhouse movie series.

I bought and watched The great outdoors (John Candy, Dan Akroyd etc).. very funny movie. I cannot believe it will be 20 years old next year :eek:.

Oh, and I saw August Rush, too. It was predictable and cheesy, but I loved it. It was very heartwarming and the music is wonderful!
Surprisingly, I have some time to preview I am Legend for you guys before I go to school. Can't wait for WINTER BREAK!
Well, I really liked this movie. The concept was really good and seeing NYC abandoned except for those things(I think they're called Nightcrawlers) and Will Smith was pretty cool. You'll never see it like that. ;) Anyway, it was a little scary, especially for someone like me who hates scary movies.

I cried at the part where the dog died, it was really emotional because the man was left with no other companions
At first I didn't like the ending, I thought it was pretty stupid. But after thinking it over thoroughly the guy could definitely have not gotten out of the situation and I think it was for the best it ended the way it did.
*SPOILER ENDED* I am Legend is one of those movies where you have to piece it together yourself. There are some confusing parts if you don't get it like why he has to lock up when he sleeps and stuff. So overall, I liked it and enjoyed it. It was a little scary and confusing for people who aren't used to seeing movies like that. For the record, I HATE scary movies and to me that was classified as "scary enough".
Hope this helped anyone who wanted to see it but was not sure about it.
Last Friday we saw Charlie Wilson's War - really good. Enjoyed it so much I ordered the book. Then Saturday night on The History Channel there was a 2 hour show about Charlie Wilson, complete with interviews with the real Charlie and real Joanne. Very informative.
Tomorrow we're going to The Water Horse; Legend of the Deep. I'm looking forward to this one.

We saw National Treasuer 2 over the weekend, and really enjoyed that one. I actaully liked it better then the first. Last night we watched Ocean's 13, which was also very good, although I think 12 is my favorite.

I decided to rent some movies over Christmas break... I disconnected my Direct tv about a month ago, so I haven't been watching anything (my first year without A Christmas Story in years!!! :eek: ).

I've watch Superbad, which I thought was going to be funny, but it was just a bunch of high school boy bathroom and body humor. It wasn't even funny... it kinda matched the title of the movie. :rolleyes:
I watched I now pronounce you Chuck and Larry for a 2nd time tonight, lol. I just kept cracking up at that one. I loved seeing the different guest stars they had in the movie (Dave Matthews as the gay shop clerk in those plaid pants, omg...). And Ving Rhames coming out as the gay firefighter was just too much... Seeing him singing I'm every woman naked, in the shower, with the other guys just staring, I about peed my pants! His bod is pretty smokin', so I did pay attention, lol. Good lord that man is ripped!
Kevin James was really good in it too... I love him from King of Queens! And the guy who plays the one friend was in the movie too, so that was cool.
Almost anything with Adam Sandler I love (Wedding Singer is the BEST). Never really got into his really odd movies, or the ones where he played a serious role, but I've watched some of those.
Will watch one of the others tomorrow... probably License to Wed, since I'm in the mood for corny movies. I'll probably have to pull out Wedding Singer too, I haven't watched that for about a year, so I'm about due for another dose of that one! :D :p
We went to see I am legend, I really liked it. I didn't think it was scary but I got stressed out at a lot of the parts.
I saw Juno tonight and I thought it was really good. I really liked it :)
I watched Hairspray for the first time yesterday and loved it. I thought i wouldn't like it but I really do. Now I just have to learn the songs :p
My niece (age 16) saw "Juno" with some friends and really liked it.
I was invited to a friend's Christmas DVD double feature - "Elf" and "It's A Wonderful Life". We ended up watching just "It's A Wonderful Life", but I saw "Elf" on cable recently. I love where Buddy calls himself a cotton-headed ninnymoggins!
I just watched "License to Wed" and it is really hysterical. I love Robin Williams! Mandy Moore is just so sweet in this, and the guy who plays her boyfriend was cracking me up. The "Choir Boy" is a piece of work too. He's definitely a protege of Robin Williams.
Better late than never. Today we saw The Water Horse - delightful!! I will see it again - for sure. Special effects were seamlessly woven into the movie - Crusoe was magnificient!
We watched Spiderman 3 this weekend. It was just okay, I'm not into comic book movies. We are planning to finally watch Pirates 3 this coming weekend.
Saw The Bucket List, with Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman, yesterday afternoon. Not as funny as I thought it would be - guess all the funny stuff was in the trailer - but enjoyable.
Not a movie but i bought an watched series 1 of Huff!.. i love that show.
Watched Next and the tattooist (sp), did not think much of Next, but the Tattooist was pretty good, rather gory for my liking, but it did keep my interest, which is quite hard to do lol, it was filmed in NZ and by NZ director Lee Tamahori,it is about the samoan culture,not any pretty scenes of NZ though,but then again it is not that kind of film.
Pan's Labyrinth. It was stunning. Subtitled and dark, but beautifully done and so well acted. There were a couple parts I actually had to turn my face away. Overall, though, the movie was magnificent and I will watch it many more times.

Well last night I started watching The 40 yr old virgin at my friends house, then fell asleep but finished it this morning. It was really funny but kind of gross haha. :p

I just watched a couple of movies i taped off the telly, Cellular and what lies beneath, i found both movies quite entertaining.
I saw "First Sunday" last weekend in theaters, and wasn't too impressed.
It's Tuesday, Senior Day, at our local theater.
We saw Mad Money with Diane Keaton, Queen Latifah and Katie Holmes. Delightful!! More fun than I anticipated.
The last movie i watched was actually a Heath Ledger movie Two Hands, watched it a few nights ago :(.
The other night we saw "The Simpson's Movie". I haven't laughed that much at a movie since the first time I saw "Young Frankenstein"!
We watched Live Free or Die Hard last night. It was okay, lots of action as usual for those movies.
Finally saw Shrek the Third and Pirates 3. They were just okay. Pirates was way too long for me.
Breach with Chris Cooper, Ryan Philippe and Laura Linney. The story of how the FBI got Robert Hanssen - the worst spy ever in U.S. history.
It came out last year, but I don't remember hearing about it. I recorded it from HBO the other night, and we watched this afternoon.

Our son knows the real Jack Lengyel. Jack was the Athletic Director at the Naval Academy when Michael went to school there. Jack thought it was really cool that he was portrayed by Matthew McConaughey.
I just came back from National Treasure: Book of Secrets. I HATED it. It was just all over the place, awkward and incredibly boring.
Rented Second Hand Lion. Was a better movie than I expected. Several friends and family members had recommended it.
I've had that one sitting out for a few days, but haven't put it in yet. We watched Racing Stripes and Eight Below instead.
