I think I buy me another bottle of cucumber lemonade...
Be best.
Sorry... i was thinking of an referring to the content i have seen on Tumblr over the years an what Tumblr has turned into.
so i am the dead horse that needs life breathed into it
My thoughts for today, can the federal hiring process go ANY slower? :p
Sorry, I am of no use in answer to that question. I do have one of my own however. Has anyone out there had a shoulder replacement surgery. I am pretty sure that's what I'm looking at in the near future as I had a very bad, complicated break and it is partially paralyzed and constantly inflamed and painful. If anyone has had a shoulder replacement I would appreciate hearing all and everything about it. The journey, result, anything really. I am 56 and pretty healthy otherwise, just scared of it because it's so invasive. It's already got 8 screws and a metal plate. Also, my husband has set out a mole trap. He is almost obsessed with his lawn, like every blade matters to him, the length, colour and vibrancy of each one. A mole has been innocently leaving little holes all over it, rooting around for worms and slugs, tasty grubs etc. This trap is so cruel, he just set it up yesterday on the lawn. It looks like a tiny little silver electric chair. If the wee fella trips it a metal spike or two shoots through its tiny body. Can you imagine? What if he's at work and it goes off on one of the little devils. What if it doesn't die and suffers??? I'll be gutted.... just the thought is horrifying. There's gotta be a better way right? Anyone, anyone 😐😳 It's SO wrong on every level, it's only grass ☹️
Sorry, I've never had shoulder-replacement surgery or anything like that, so I can't give you any informed advice there. Best wishes!
I did have back surgery in September 2014. I was in the hospital for a week, then a rehab place for three more weeks. Then I went home, but I still had to keep pretty limited in my activities and I couldn't drive, until three months after the surgery. The surgery was successful, and I haven't had any trouble with my back since.
Can you over-rule your husband on that mole trap? That sounds positively brutal. Is it even legal? Surely there are humane ways to remove the mole.
Maybe these folks would have some advice and suggestions? -

In British Columbia it is legal to set a leg hold trap only 200 meters from a dwelling, including schools and neiboring residences....No one gives zero sh*ts about the lowly mole. I just googled this. Believe me, I'm sick. Not a freaking clue until just now. Ya, l think he's intent on killing that mole. I pick my battles, told him what I thought. It's disgusting. I'm letting it go for now, just too much for me right now ☠️👹👎🏿
I could just trip it myself everyday with a twig when no ones looking 🤔 That might work just fine👍🏿
I did not even know shoulder replacements were possible - do keep us posted on how it goes.
I hope that, whatever surgery you are looking at, it will be successful and help you to get rid of the constant pain. Sorry, I don't have any experience with this kind of procedure.
I would not ever kill a mole. They might make some holes in your lawn, but they eat harmful grubs and insects that would otherwise destroy plants in your garden.
Moles are a protected species here in North Carolina because of their usefulness.
Maybe your husband would be willing to use a repellent instead, like castor oil.
I will definately suggest castor oil to ward off the mole, I would never kill a mole either. It is with great glee that I report that the creepy mole trap has been thus far, completely unsuccessful 👍🏿 Ya well, it is really painful, my stupid broken arm was pretty crushed. I had no idea a shoulder replacement surgery even existed until a couple months ago. All these exersizes I am expected to do to improve my range of movement, so that that horrible option is off the table are about as possible for me to do as me sprouting wings and flying to to the freakin' moon. It's been 3 months. Today I had a shower and washed my hair, it hurt my arm SO much that I had to take 3 Tylenol 3's and go to bed. I guess I tweeked it. Thank God I had those squirrelled away As after the surgery I was prescribed nothing since. Point is, it doesn't move properly, always hurts, the little chirpy young girl that gives me physiotherapy has tried deep tissue massage, ultrasound, acupuncture... not sure what she has planned next. It's like, I try so hard to be a good sport, stay positive, do my little arm and shoulder exersizes but nothing is improving and the pain is even worse when I do these things. I yelled at her last Saturday, couldn't hep it... I just bellered QUIT IT!! She and my husband just laughed, sorta nervous laughter. It was just outrageously painful. It's a pretty weird position to be in, I've always been the tough one, the brave, fearless one. I'm just unable to trust these so called pros as they don't seem to know what the hell they are doing. Might have to have surgery, no worries. Will figure it out!
So very sorry to carry on.
What I also wish to say, without any drama, is that I loath self pity and the feeling of impotence. Those feelings however, seem unavoidable as of late. I wouldn't wish this on anyone. I am enjoying my beautiful cats, my husband, adorable baby birds and squirrels are frolicking in the back 40 and I sure take notice of all the beauty indeed ❤️ Wishing you all the very best.
Hey, going to see Paul McCartney tonight. It's my husbands birthday. Hope all you Pet Talk peeps are well and going strong. I peek at ya once in a while. 😘😻👍🏿
Oh, how nice!
Happy birthday to your husband, mon!

Thank you, passed that on! The concert was brilliant, I can't believe Sir Paul is 77. He looks good, a lot more stamina than I think I ever had at any age 😆
Just finished getting the laundry in - a few pieces are still damp, but figured I had better take them in and finish them in the dryer.
Got everything in, and now it is pouring outside! :)
You have the sixth sense, Karen.
Met this little critter. or rather... we scared each other. s/he is trying to build a nest/bed thing in our water fountain. the bowl of it leaks an doesnt hold water anymore anyway so i dont mind

so cute
AWWWWwwwwwww! Such a cutie!!!
:love::love::love::love::love::love::love::love:
Thank you for letting him/her build a nest in the water fountain!
The chipmunk is getting used to us walking around near the fountain without spooking off but still keeps their distance :D
we also have a robbin that has built her nest on a rung of our ladder. it has 3little blue eggs in it. sure hope we dont need the ladder anytime soon!
17acers of heavily wooded area an she builds it there
I met a chipmunk once. I was shocked at how minuscule it was. I had imagined, for some reason that they were about the size of a squirrel. Not true. Only saw the cartoon, Chip and Dale when I was young. I even remember the song. I was just sitting on a bench in Kamloops at 6 a.m. drinking a coffee. Waiting to visit dear old Granpappy at the hospital just before he passed. There it was. Tiny dude just sat there, looking adorable, heard a noise and bolted. Never forget that little rodent. Impossibly cute.
I thought the very same :D its so weird that squirrels are Godzilla sized compared to a chipmunks size LOL i also thought chipmunks would be the noisier animal but i was very wrong. i never hear a chipmunk chattering at something unless they get spooked an even then its only a few barks an than silence. very much unlike squirrels that chatter until the thing they are chattering at leaves or until the squirrel gives up an leaves. both are very cute but i like chipmunks more as the tinyness adds even more to the cute factor. plus squirrels can be annoying if ones trying to study or sleep LOL
i dont remember the song so much but i do have fond memories of watching Chip and Dale with my dad right before bedtime while mom was already at work by an hour or two.
thats pretty cool seeing the chipmunk at that time. like a sign that hes okay or such
Well I sure hope you enjoy your wee chipmunk for a very long time. Such a darling. Yes, it was great timing and pretty uplifting when I met that tiny one I met. The Chip and Dale song really blew so you're not missing much. 🐿
There are some chipmunks living somewhere around or under my apartment building. I see them quite often! They are adorable.

We definitely have been. Pixie is confused as to what the heck she is hearing but not seeing LOL
i remember the Rescue Rangers theme song as if it was yesterday though :)
how lucky to have them living under your house :D
Dagnabbit - gooseberries are now on the no-fly list. Haven't had any since I was a kid, just spent hours at the hospital getting anti-nausea meds.
Yow!

Frustrating and ironic - I normally do not want to use a fan, just a waste of electricity, and I can deal with some heat. The bpx fan has been sotting unused in the sunroom since last fall.
Today, hot and humid, with a heat advisory, I finally decided to move it into the house and turn it on. But no. Some one of the kids who "helped" move stuff into the basement this spring/ summer trapped the plug end of the cord in the trap door that leads into the basement from the sunroom. It is wooden, And the heat and humidity has swollen it so it is now unopenable. Sigh.
Was just reading about a mostly black cat someone rescued. It gradually turned almost all white. Turns out the wee cat has vitilago. Imagine having a vet sophisticated enough to figure that out, the stress one wouldn't have to go through wondering what the heck is my cat turning white for? Cat is happy, healthy, fine as wine otherwise. I don't pretend to be extremely deep and wise but I see this as a metaphor about racism and how assanine it all is. If anyone you loved turned a different colour overnight or gradually, would you give one measly shit 🤦🏾♀️🤦🏼♂️. I guess KKK peeps would. Color matters to them. I always think, if every human being was blind, who would the haters hate. Just a random bloody thought ❤️
Vitiligo.
Please, PT doggies, please stay away from ponds with poisonous algae!
Just yesterday we had a discussion with our veterinarians about the toxicity of blue-green algae. It can cause death within minutes.

I was TV channel surfing yesterday and came across a rerun of the dog show from Philadelphia. Such a variety of dogs! Big and little; sleek, fluffy, curly and so many colors! They herd, they play, some go hunting and always give love. The host told a story about a Great Dane who made himself a lap dog! He would choose a person and take his spot! I’ve been leaned on by a Great Dane and his person told me I could hug him in return ❤️ I just enjoyed seeing all the different breeds of dogs.
What fun! :love::love::love::love::love::love::love::love:

My Gingie in the house for cats
A few days ago, I went to the local fair with a friend. At the entrance, there are now metal detectors, and "absolutely no knives allowed". My friend carried a small pocket knife, so he had to return it to his car. No big deal, just a minor inconvenience.
Inside the fair, we visited a building with all kinds of vendors. One of them was selling kitchen knives, mostly large one, all laid out for anybody to grab one and start stabbing people if they were so inclined.
I was stunned and disturbed.
How is that for safety?
WHOA! How weird is that! And how dangerous, as you said.
Did you say anything to the people selling the knives, or to anyone supposedly in charge of running the fair?
