I watched Free Willy last night. I've watched it so many times, but it is one of those movies that you can never get sick of. After I've had a really bad day I always turn on Free Willy. :o Do you guys have movies like that? Where they cheer you up no matter what happened?

I watched Charlie and the Chocolate Factory a few days ago. There was something about it that really creeped me out. I haven't read the book in a long time but I recall it being happy and the factory being so upbeat and magical but in the movie it was so dark and drim. Something about Willy Wonka really creeped me out.Quote:

That's funny that you remember the book like that, I always thought it was a tad dark...I guess it's definitely all about interpretation. That's why I was so stoked when I read that Burton was doing the movie, because I knew it would be more like the book, with a bit of a dark edge to it.Quote:

I Saw Enron: The Smartest Men In the Room, yesterday. It was very good. It explained alot of what went wrong and who dropped the ball. It's based on a movie so I think I may buy the book.
Oops..I meant it's based on a book, so I might buy the book.

I just saw the movie "Smile". I thought it was really sad. :( Has anyone else seen it?
I saw some of the movie THE LONGEST YARD, I fell asleep , not because it was so boring, but I was tired, it seemed quite funny in the beginning and my family were enjoying it,but I think I would have got a little bored in the end had I managed to stay awake,lol. :D
I watched Napoleon Dynamite last night. Had never seen it. Pretty funny. I liked Pedro the best. And, I also watched two thirds of one of my favorite movies, L.A. Confidential. That movie just rocks so hard, it's awesome. I had to leave, but, it was my friend's first time seeing it and he loved it. I mentioned this in the Harry Potter thread, too, but, i saw the new one the other night. Excellent. I want to go see so many new ones, but, Walk the Line comes to mind right now. Love Johnny Cash and June Carter. :)
We went to see Walk the Line a few days ago and just loved it!!! Part way into the movie - I found that I forgot the actor was Joaquin Phoenix and just believed it was really Johnny Cash. I learned many things about June and Johnnny that I did not know - looked them up on the internet to see if they were accurate and they were :) Reece Witherspoon was just perfect as June. I also loved the Maybelle Carter portrayal. There were a couple songs I have never heard but enough of the old favorites to get my toes tapping :D
We plan to go see Rent next. Daughter Missy loves that musical and so we have heard many of the songs for years! She went to see the live production in Cincinnati a few years ago and says quite a few of the original cast members are in the movie.
