6 more sleeps for me.
Catland, I'm with you. Tuesday night I probably won't sleep a wink, worrying about missing my alarm.
I got to talk to Randi!!!!!! That poor lady is tired, but having a wonderful time
Saturday I get to have Sara and Randi all to myself. Time to show Randi a few of the sights in Los Angeles/Beverly Hills/Venice.
I just cannot believe it.........and I am so excited.
Oh, and Randi has this really lovely soft voice.....................
I think all of us are going to LOVE HER!
Gini, please do me a favour...
When you see them, please give them a hug from me. The only time I will get to see them is the day of the BBQ and it will be a busy day. Thanks.
You betcha, Slick. However, I never promised that my eyes would be dry!!!
How exciting!!! :)
Guys, we have less than 10 days to go!! Tomorrow (Friday) will be just over a week away!!! :D
All my bags are packed
I’m ready to go
I’m standin’ here outside your door
I hate to wake you up to say goodbye
...well, one bag is packed anyway. :D Just have a couple more things to get for my **ahem** costume and I'm done. Woke up this morning with a really bad sore throat and cold so I hope it's not going to last. Guess I'd better get some drugs today....;) :D
ain't even gonna go there Slick ;)
Oh....but we knew that already, Gini. ;) :D I so wish I could be there with you guys on Saturday!Quote:

I think I will just wait at the curb..........listen for your name to be paged!
Sore throat and cold? Get yourself over to Thursdays for a hot toddy - and then go back to bed!!
Earlier I promised that I would be bringing some coffee with me. I wish I had more to offer but when I went to visit my sister two months ago, I ended up giving her 9 lbs!
Right now I have two lbs of Breakfast blend, one is claimed by Tonya (Zippy) Any takers for the other?
I have a pound of Colombia Narino Supremo which is my favorite mild coffee. It's still flavorful yet not overpowering.
Gini, I'm not sure if you are a coffee drinker but I have a really nice bag of Guatelamlan that was only offered for a short time, it's a nice smooth coffee goes great with caramel or chocolate.
I also have some Viennese blend which is a blend of Latin American beans, very smooth and rich.
I also still have two more markouts avaliable before I head up there. So if you have a favorite let me know and I will be sure to get it for you.
The reason why I'm asking ahead of time is so that if you need it ground you can tell me what kind of filter you are using so I can get it to the proper grind. If not then I'll bring them whole bean and any local Starbucks will grind them for free.
Laura, what a nice thing to do. Unfortunately I'm not a coffee drinker at all. I am, however, addicted to Iced Capps......Really looking forward to meeting you.
I've just gotten back from the last of my shopping. There's nothing more for me to do now except stay home for the next 3 days, houseclean and pack. YIPPEE!!! 4 more sleeps. :D :D
I just finished packing. Still need to clean.
I'm a little nervous, since I haven't been on a plane for 15 years. And I'm not too keen about changing planes in DC. Maybe I should spend some time at Thursdays on Wednesday AND Thursday!
I can only hope all planes are on time and so am I.
Oops, no costume in that carry-on. Will jammys do?
Does anyone have a weather forecast? We are having extreme humidity here. Anything under 95 degrees and 78% humidity would be heaven.
No quakes, floods or fires in LA? About time!
Mary
Not sure for exactly when you'll be arriving, but right now its 88.8 F and 35% Humidity.Quote:

Should be beautiful this time next week! :)
Can't wait to meet everyone!!!
Posted this in the Thursday thread, and should probably post it in General....
I've actually been thinking about getting a webcam and setting it up so those who can't come can be there virtually. The only problem is....I should have thought about this 3 months ago! Does anybody know anything about webcams and how to use them? I would need to set it up so others would be able to access a website in order to see the action, wouldn't I? I need to do some research - fast!
If anybody knows anything about any of this, please let me know. If I can pull it off in 3 days, I'll do it!
88.8 with 35% humidity sounds absolutley be-u-tee-ful!!! Can't wait!!!:D :D

Uh oh......does this mean I have to be on my best behaviour?? I don't think we really want to record EVERYTHING, do we??? :D
Actually, I do think it's a good idea but I'm afraid I can't help you on this one. Just did a google search and came up with this but I'm sure you can find some better pages.

I don't remember if I posted or not, but I'm not going. Hope you guys all have fun, take lots of pics for me. :)
Laura, you are too sweet! :)
Debbie -
Yes and yes. Used to have one but a certain black loppie eared bunny chewed the wiring and so it worked spastically; I got tired of it and chunked it almost a year or so ago. I know Yahoo's IM allows for video conferencing. I'm not sure how to set one up on a website. I think geocities(?) might offer that capability. I know ACG&S had one set up (can't remember the host - might've been AOL) for cutie-pie Dudley and Sammy.Quote:

Just high speed car chases, movie star governors and some bitching weather......
We don't do hurricanes out here.
Amy, I know that we p/m'd back and forth, but publically I would like to say that I too am sorry you won't be able to attend the BBQ this year.
Everyone was looking forward to meeting you.
Hope I'm not putting words in WolfLady's mouth, but I think the webconferences she sets up for her work include videoconferencing. Maybe she can help set something up?
I've looked out my clothes and I just have 4 sleeps before I leave. I cannot wait to see you all. :D
So exciting.
MG
:D :D :D Can't wait to meet you MG!
Hi everyone, I'm on US soil! :D :D :D
What a trip it was! I was in 4 different airports in one day. The Air France flight was delayed, so I missed my connection to Orange County - however, I met a really nice girl in Chicago who had come from London, and also missed her flight, we had a great 3 hours together! :D
Barbara, it may be hard to believe, but I've been up BEFORE 7.00! lol! And here comes the best part of going to bed ..... Eddie has been visiting! He came up in bed to me the very first night!! Both Edwina and Eddie are absolutely darlings!! But you won't believe what Eddie did yesterday late evening, I'm sure Sara will post about it when she has calmed down. :)Quote:

I'm having the time of my life here in the US, that's why I haven't posted till now. :) Sara and I have been busy floating around in the whirlpool, and been out shopping. I can hardly believe how lucky I am to be here! Sara and Don are spoiling me so, and I just love their house!!
Yesterday, we drove up to LA to visit Gini, she is so sweet! We went to have lunch in the most scenic setting by Santa Monica pier. After that we toured LA.
Well, this is all for now, Sara and I will go for a walk up the hill now. Later today, I'll get a ride with Don on his Harley.
Looking forward to see you all!! :D
Randi, it sounds fantastic! I'm so pleased you are having such a good time. :D
Oh Randi, that sounds LOVELY!!!! :) :) :) I'm so glad you're having such fun, you deserve it.
What a sweetie Eddie is! Can't wait to hear the full story!
Just a few days and I'll get to give you a REAL hug! YAY!!! :)
For now *hugs*
:)
Me, me, me! I wanted some too. I think I had requested breakfast blend earlier in this thread, but I'll take whatever you have left! I'm such a starbucks junkie!Quote:

Everyone sounds so excited. I'm happy for all of you and wish I was coming too.
Randi, I'm so glad that you are having a wonderful time!
Re: Webcam
Not to worry you guys, it's looking like my boss is going to be keeping me extra busy for the next two days so I won't have time to check out webcams, how they work and where to get one for a good price - drat! However, there's always next year!
Thanks for the ideas, Zippy! I will print out your post so I have it on hand to research more when I have a bit more free time (free time, what's that? ).
Gosh, Laura, how could I miss your generous offer for coffee.
I too, am a coffee person and I like a good strong coffee, but not too bitter.
Since you have so many takers, I won't be picky.
I will have to go check the weather forecast.......heard it is supposed to be hotter this week.
I will let you know.
No web cam???? Why am I relieved:D :D

That's too bad Debbie! Nice idea though.
Whew! I was getting worried, thinking that I would have to dress up and wear pantyhose....:D :D
Didn't I tell you Slick? We have changed this event to an afternoon tea!
Gloves/hat/pantyhose/ all required!:D :D
Richard thought it would be nice:D :D
Well, I've certainly got the gloves and the hat.....:p  :D
*heh heh heh* ;) :D

I don't do pantyhose in California.  as for the gloves - won't that clash with the slushies?
Not if you extend your pinkie..............Quote:
