The Cubs' home opener is Monday, April 12, 2010 against Milwaukee. Next year is almost here!
Goodbye Rory Markus and George Micheal.
RM did the games for the LA Angels and did the local sports on TV.
George Michael, who did the Sports Machine on Sunday nights also passed in the last two weeks.
God bless them.
I loved GM and the huge buttoned "sport machine" -LOL, It was a huge VTR that had buttons the size of Texas on it.
I saw GM a month ago and boy, did he look sick. He was a trooper and it looked like he worked to the end..
RIP big guys!:(
When Rory Markus passed I was talking to my brother and told him that another announcer was bound to pass away.
I forgot the poor guy's name. He was based in the Northwest..:(
-----------
Mark McGwire was on steroids!
Ya Think?.
Dope....
I saw him when he played for Team USA in the Olympics in '84. Who would have known?
Since I just recently re-introduced myself to this forum, I am getting in on this thread a little late but.....
Phull Phledged Phillies Phan Here!!!!
Looking forward to the 2010 season and sure hope I get to go to more games than I did last year...Although I consider the 3 I went to important ones.
The first was the pre-season game against Tampa Bay. First batter up, Pat Burrell, met with a huge round of applause from his old Philadelphia Phans. I yelled "hit one out Pat"...and he did, and he got a standing-o. It was a bitter sweet moment, I miss having Pat on the Phillies.
The other important game I was at was the Sept. 30th National League East Championship winning game. Just like in 2007, I was celebrating my birthday.
I have photos and videos of moments during these games if anyone is interested!
