I have cried all day over Katie. I have cried for you to Lorraine as I know your heart is broken and it will take you a long time to heal. I know your arms ache for her and so does your heart, I have been where you are so I know your pain... Just remember, your friends are here and we DO understand your loss and your pain. Lorraine, what you said about seeing the tabby made me remember a similar experience I had. Richard and I walk the neighborhood every evening and a few days after Disney was gone out of nowhere a little white dog that looked very much like her ran right up to me while we were walking. We've been walking the neighborhood for months and I had never seen her before. I pet her and kept her with me until the owner came out of the house to get her. I said "cute dog" and he asked if I wanted her jokingly. I almost burst into tears. I think your experience and mine are ways our babies are telling us they are okay, running and playing now.

I am new to PT but upon hearing your story, my heart hurts for you. These Kittys are our babies, they depend on us and we love them as children. I am so very sorry for the pain and heartache you have to bear. I honestly believe that God does not let the little creatures suffer. Soon Katie will be running and playing in Cat heaven with all the other wonderful kitty's. Try to be strong and know that Katies loved you and that you have many memories of her and you together. :confused:

I am so saddened to hear this news. :( Words hardly seem adequate. Katie was such a beautiful tabby and I always enjoyed seeing her and the rest of your crew in your siggy. My thoughts are with you, your husband and your furry gang as you cope with your loss.

Oh Lorraine, I am so sorry. I had such hopes for little Katie after reading your last thread on her Friday. I was devastated this morning to open the Memorial section and find Katie's name at the top.

Katie got her wings Today,at The Welcome To New Pets Breakfast at The Rainbow Bridge.
She was made welcome,by All The Pets,and will dine with them in Oslo,Norway.
Then she will fly down to Hamilton,to have Dinner with The Pet Talker Angel Army at Tony Romas and then to our Giant All Pet All Night Party,at The Found Cat Hotel.
Katie knows,that you di your best for her,and she still loves you,and wants you to know,that you will meet again,One Fine Day. :( :( :(

This is a rough time, isn't it? It really sucks.

If I can offer you anything at all, it might be that you were there with Katie, to give her company and stand with her as she drew her last breath and then relaxed and went on ahead of all of us. That's pretty important.

I couldn't be there for that final moment with my Ingrid because it was not until the surgeon had a look inside Ingrid's belly that we realized how bad the trouble Ingrid had actually was. I feel like a rat because I couldn't be there then--not that I would want the memory of seeing the procedure--and also because the last hours Ingrid had there before they operated to try and save her were frightening for her. She hated vets.

So I wish I could have been there to hold her as she died.

When the time tells you it is right, you'll find a fitting way to make a memorial to Katie. It doesn't have to be in a rush. Ingrid lies in a place she picked out herself--the only place I ever saw her lie down in the grass in her whole life--and I raised the soil level there with some timbers, and now ornamental grasses and ferns grow in that planter box, while Ingrid sleeps below. The squirrels in my trees have really enjoyed tucking pecans into the soft dirt they've found there. That's fine because Ingrid always really admired squirrels. ;<)

I have a 5-watt night light in the back window for Ingrid, too. So she can find her way home. I'll keep that light there at least until the bulb burns out.

You have other animal friends, right? They need reassurance, too. Ingrid had a little brother who was a rabbit a few years back, and after Louie passed away, Ingrid mourned him. She knew what had happened.

I'm still waiting for the sign that Ingrid is okay. I will recognize it when I see it. It may be very subtle, but it will be powerful and I will be glad.

Maybe you have already seen the same sort of sign for Katie? If not, just keep your eyes open. It will come.

I'm so sorry that it all worked out this way for you and Katie. You did everything you could for Katie. :(

Your husbands comment about her running to the bridge was what made the tears welling in my eyes spill over.

I know youmust be hurting at this time.

Lorraine, I am sooo sorry. I haven't been around much this weekend and I am so sorry to hear of this. Katie and you have been in my prayers all day and I just read this. There are no words to tell you how badly I feel! I pray that your sweet Katie is well and happy at the RB and pray that God gives your strength to get through this most difficult time!
