We are with them all - all the way! (You too ;) )
Dear little Boomer, you have my prayers for an uneventful flight that you will soon forget.
You have no idea what a wonderful set of Grandparents you have - well they are hoomans - but they know exactly how to spoil little ones like you.
I will be anxious to hear how your flights go and especially anxious to hear about your safe arrival.
Saying a prayer for little Boomer as he heads off on his world traveling adventure. Also, keeping Missy in my thoughts, too as she settles in for the 24 hour wait to hear. Hang in there, and the hours will pass!
Prayers headed out for a safe flight for Boomer.
If I've understood from previous posts/replies, they cant use anything because if the airline suspects medication of anykind is used either given to an aniaml or in carrier they wont let the animal fly. It's a liability issue to the airlines.Quote:

I know that this is going to be a VERY LONG trip for Boomer, But does he get to have a small size litter box in his crate? and I was also wondering, how big is the crate he will be traveling in, and can he move around a bit? Best wishes little one:)
No litter box:rolleyes: What they allow is "absorbant material" so Missy bought puppy pads to at least line the carrier. I think it is crazy to not allow a kitty even a small box but this is what Missy found out. He does have enough room to stand up and turn around. Poor baby. But what I keep saying is one awful day for him and then *no more flying*!!! He will be home in America:)Quote:

Missy - I am headed to bed as I need to be up early for Misha - please check in and let us know about the day OK?? (an e-mail to your mother would not kill you either:p )
Oh goodness...He will probably need a bath when you pick him up. That is terrible a small litterbox is not permitted:(
Awww.....sweet Boomer. I'm sorry your conditions are less than First Class....silly hoomans. Don't they (airline people) know you're used to nothing but the BEST??
Arrive safely...wave when you fly over me!!
Hugs,
Kelly :)
Prayers are on the way for Boomer to have a safe flight. Welcome to America Boomer!!!:)

I posted this same thing in Cat General, but it'll have to do. I'm exhausted!
We're home! Right about now Boomer is probably at the Continental pet boarding place waiting for his flight. My cargo rep said that they would take him from us and get him some food and it sounded like he would get the opportunity to play a little (yeah right, like he's gonna play. He spent most of the car trip hunkered down in the corner of his crate but did sniff around a little while we walked around the airport. It was a 3.5 hour trip out there and a 2 hour trip back to the base.
His plane leaves Japan for New Jersey in 2 hours and I have every confidence in the capable pet reps at Continental airlines
I hated saying good bye to my Boomer, but I know that he will be with his grandmeowmie and grandpawpie soon
Thank you to everyone who's prayers and financial help made this trip possible!!!

Let's see if either of these FlightTracker maps show up.
Well, they won't "display" -
but if you *click* on the links above ...
A litle MAP will open and show the Plane's Tracked Location ...
and the page & map UpDate minute by minute.
Too bad they won't *stop* in Columbus when they fly right over
and drop Boomer off! :(
Right over Japan... it's gonna be a long flight. I hope the pet reps on the flight are friendly to him. I put his name in cute little stickers on the top front of his cage:D

Is there a Kat SITTER actually ON BOARD with him??
Were there other Pets / Animals on the flight?
wow, this is so exciting! Boomer, we're here for you!!!
Kitty in flight!
(I have Boomer set as my wallpaper and screensaver; just can't get this guy out of my mind)
For what they are charging there better be drinks, food and a movie. :)Quote:

That would be neat that there is an actual pet sitter with the animals.
WHEW!!! He's been in the air for TWO hours now!!! YAY!!!
Missy I am soooo glad that your drive went OK - WOW!!!
This is going to be a day Boomer will not want to remember - he was in that cage 12 houirs before he even took off  BUT....once we pick him up, get him home (maybe a bath) - we will be spoiling him so much that he will forget his day - the destination is the best part of the adventure :D Sure wish he could talk and tell us all about it.
Phred - when do you sleep???:p
edit: off the phone with Missy and they have been home quite awhile. The drive to and from Tokyo was hectic but she did it!:D Boomer huddled in the cage - but this is usually what he does.
They read his microchip which I think is terrific. ALL pets in Japan have to be microchipped and they used an "Avid" reader and Boomer's chip is "Home Again " Kuhio posted all about these chips .
Boomer has at least one travel companion and that is a little cocker spaniel. Right now I bet they have gotten acquainted and grumbled about the delay - but are now sound asleep!!
See you tonight Boomer!!
I know that there is at least one other dog on board with him. There was an adorable cocker spaniel there waiting to be taken over to the Continental pet area. I think that there must be someone on board because they talk about keeping them watered and fed, but I'm not sure. Yes Craftlady, for the price they ought to be serving him caviar on a silver platter:rolleyes:
A couple days before the trip- Boomer has a very good body-image and thinks that he can fit in this little condo:rolleyes:

These were from the day of his health certification. I didn't take any today... We were too busy!
Thanks for the great uppydates Phred and Missy. Don't be scared Boomer, your voyage will be over soon and you get to see Grandma and Grandpa. Wow!! What a story this is. I believe it's one of the most exciting PT happenings I've ever seen;) You all must be going into Wreck Stage #83 now. Bless you all!! We're praying real hard for all of you.
I have to say that I am blown away and yet soooo comforted that so many of you are rooting for my family right now. Hubby just grins and shakes his head when he reads about what all you folks are saying and doing.:D
Me - I have Misha over today - she is napping now. Mama Chris is here, too - working on homework....Missy, Tyler and Carol *should* be snoozing away by now as it is 11:15pm in Japan.
After a study group we have tonight from 7-8, we are headed out a bit early for Columbus and will wait for Boomer. It is a little over a one hour drive. Then we will get home - probably midnight or so EST. We will settle Boomer in and probably sleep in there with him. My plan is to take the digital camera to get a few pictures tonight but depends on how hectic things are. But I am a PT Meowmie and we usually provide pictures of all sorts of things:D
For now - here is the Sirrah kitty welcome suite:)
for reclining and window entertainment...

for hiding:p

not shown: poo station and feeding buffet :D
Thanks for all the wonderful updates. What nice things Boomer has waiting for him! I hope that he isn't to scared on the flight, that is a long time to be wondering what is going on, but I am sure he will come through with flying colors. Can't wait to see his arrival pictures.
The living conditions are lovely. :)
I'm sure the poo and feeding stations are top notch too :) :)
Gosh I'm on pins and needles waiting to hear the final ending! I'm so happy Boomer will remain in the family!
This is so exciting! :D I almost feel like I'm there. :p
:)
Finally flyin in the right direction on the lil map! :p
See: FlightView Flight Tracker ...
For an up to the minute map of where Boomer's Plane is.
Even with his late start from Narita,
Boomer should arrive in Newark with plenty of time to make his
connecting flight to Columbus. :)
Arrival City: New York/Newark, NJ (EWR - Liberty)
Gate: C126
Terminal: Terminal C
Scheduled Time: 4:05 p.m.
Estimated Time: 5:16 p.m.
:D
Oh Boomer, you are high in the air right now? Wow, what a big adventure for a cat!! Don't worry about getting a bit dirty, your family will love and cuddle you anyway ;) :D
I'm sorry I couldn't check in here sooner, but I have been in bed for 2 days, with severe belly flue....:(
Boomer - bless your heart - I am rooting for you!!
Wait until you see what they have waiting for you at home! I told you, they really know how to treat kitties here - you are going to love it!
This suspense is killing me! I hadn't posted before, but have been following closely.
Get home safe, Boomer! We're rooting for you!
This is so exciting! I am so glad that things went so well getting Boomer off at the airport!
Debbie, how much longer??? ;)
Go Boomer Go!!!!!
I dreamt about him all night! Isn't that funny?
I have to go stay with my Dad today but I sent the link for the flight tracker to hubby at work so I can have him give me updates this afternoon. :)
There are so many people cheering and praying little Boomer on to a safe arrival at grandma and grandpa's house.
Funny . . . I'm suprised I didn't! I went to sleep last night praying my heart out for sweet Boomer! I think we just all feel so attached to him, even though he's been across the ocean all this time . . . we're just all so glad that he's going to remain in "our family"!!!Quote:
