For some reason, the picture of my writing looks worse to me than it does looking at it in person. Also when I set it on the counter to take a picture, there were a few water droplets there so part of the paper got wet and smudged it some but I wasn't going to rewrite it. I'm embarrassed to say it but I can only write a few sentences before my hand cramps up because my hands are accustomed to typing everything for years now. I did used to have pretty nice handwriting though, and in college could write for hours.
edit: And compressing the picture of it to a jpeg made it look even worse. :p Blah, oh well!
K9soul,
It looks fine to me :)
96 WPM!!! That is amazing!! I'm a pretty good typer but I think I type a little more than half that!! WOW!!
I wish I could post my handwriting but I have no scanner and I still ahve to buy a new cord for the camera to connect it to the 'puter....
Anyway, you don't want to see mine....! I am NEUROTIC about my handwriting! My father always wrote perfect cursive and he said it was because he went to Catholic school and they made him write like that....well, as a kid I would copy his handwriting over and over and over again....
I don't write anywhere near as nice as him but I try. In college if I took notes in class and didn't like the way they looked later, I would rewrite all of them! I have to write neat or I won't read it again later! I know, it's a little crazy!
Funny story, my brother and I used to try and write the "perfect" cursive and outdo each other all the time....well, he is a doctor now and guess what? Yup, his handwriting in illegible now. He says it's because he is always in a hurry and wrote so much in medical school that he could care less anymore! I think they teach that bad handwriting in medical school and he was sworn to secrecy!! LOL!!! :D
I used to try and emulate my grandpa's handwriting. He had such beautiful handwriting that he actually developed by working on calligraphy when he was younger. He did engraving, jewelry work, and so on. He could write multipage letters with beautiful, flourishing, but uniform handwriting on every page. I actually did develop some of his handwriting traits but never to the perfection he had.
Five years ago I typed maybe 70 wpm, but I got to the point in my transcription job that I just just fly over the keyboard and I usually type test from 90-96 WPM now. I type so much I actually wear out keyboards every couple years, the keys wear down and eventually get holes in them :p.
If I just write a few words or fill out a check, my writing tends to look pretty good. But if I try to write a letter nowdays it usually ends up looking pretty bad LOL. :o
