That second photo with Hope's ribs jutting out breaks my heart :(.My Addie was skin and bones, but not nearly as bad as Hope. I'm glad the poor girl is doing better. She deserves a chance at the good life.

Julie, little did I know one year ago when I saw and posted poor Hope's picture here on the BB that I would be congratulating her on her first birthday with you!!!!! I was sure she was going to die. My heart was broken. Then you came along and saved her life!!!! Oh the joy! Thank you for posting with us and letting us know how she is doing. I just love her new picture!! Thank you again and again for rescuing her!!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY SWEET HOPE!!
Sue, I too remember Hope a year ago when she was so sick and I never thought she would have made it. Julie you are a hero! Happy birthday to you precious Hope! You are a sweet lil girl!
Julie,
Thanks for posting & reminding us all of Hope's
Re-Birthday. It hardly seems like a year ago
since first reading Hope's story. We all prayed
daily for her recovery and prayed that you could
stay strong & healthy & be able to continue your
good work with her and the other rescues.
Many hugs & kisses to Hope on her Re-Birth Day
and hugs for all your other furkids too.
What a pretty girl in that photo. The file was named right.
Dear Julie, the "Story of Hope" is one of the most miraculous tales ever witnessed on Pet Talk. I can't believe it was a year ago today that we all cried, then prayed, then cheered as you, Angel Julie, slowly but surely, with incredible devotion and love, led Hope down the road to recovery. Tears flowed today when I looked back at the picture of Hope, so thin and ill and close to death. We followed her fight to beat the odds, day by day, and it IS nothing short of a miracle that today she celebrates her first birthday, so happy, healthy and whole. It is all thanks to a miracle worker, and that miracle worker has a name and that name is Julie. God Bless you Julie for giving "our" beautiful Hope the gift of life born of love. Hope, the sight of your vuluptous body and that precious, contented face, resting so sweetly in your bed, makes me weep with joy. Your health and happiness is witness to the power of God and the human spirit in all it's glory!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU BEAUTIFUL HOPE! Love, Sandra, Star and Cody
Congratulations Hope!
As I looked at the pictures of you, tears rolled down my cheeks. I'm new here, so I don't know what the story is, but I'm glad you found such a wonderful person to take care of you.
It has made my day to see that miracles are happening!
:D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D
Sandra, boy do you know how to write with such beauty and compassion. I loved what you wrote and could not have said it better myself.Quote:

Hard to believe Christmas is here again but I am happy to say that Hope continues to do very well. I now refer to her as my "little stuffed sausage"! As I have said many times before, she continues to be a joy each day and a miracle right in front of my eyes. I wish all of you and your furry friends a very Merry Christmas and the best in the new year!
Geez Julie you must be a mind reader!! I was just wondering about you and Hope. I'm so happy to hear and see that she's doing well. How are the rest of your brood?? I'm sure the rescue business is booming, unfortunately. Please post more as you get time. I miss hearing from you. Hugs to Hope and the crew and you of course. Happy Holidays to you and yours too.
What a wonderful sight to see, Julie!!! She looks wonderful!!!! :D
Dogresq,
Thank you for the new picture of Hope. It's good to hear
that she continues to do well & enjoys her life with you &
your other furry kids:) I hope your Christmas was blessed
and you & your family have the best new year ever:) Please
give the "little sausage" a hug & kiss from me. Liz. :D
Julie, Hope is as beautiful as ever!!!! If anyone who saw her "before" would see her now, they would think she was a different dog. You have brought her a long, long way, Julie. Thank you for never giving up on her. Have a wonderful holiday season. Thanks so much for the update.
Julie, you really are a mind reader!:) I too was thinking about you just yesterday, wondering how our precious miracle girl Hope was doing during this season of miracles!! As I went to search for the thread, there was your happy update! I'm SO thrilled to hear our miracle pup, ah, "sausage" is doing so well! :D What a precious picture of Hope doning her very own Christmas ornament!!:D WHAT a cutie pie!!! Please give that big, beautiful girl a HUGE Christmas hug and kiss from Sandra, Star and Cody! :)
For those who don't remember (is that possible?) or don't know the story of HOPE:

Bumping this up so those who did not see the "before" pic
or read of her long road to recovery. It was and still is a truly
"Unbelievable" story of love and compassion. Love You Hope,
Julie(DOGRESQ) , and family.
Thanks Liz and Sue. Reading about Hope's struggle and incredible journey to health and healing should be required reading for ALL Pet Talkers!:) It really is amazing to see the incredible transformation of "our" Hope:) Seeing the "old" Hope is a painful but important reminder of the healing powers of love. Just look at her now!!!!!!!:) We love you Hope!! And Julie, I can't stop saying thank you enough for all you have done for this beautiful girl! You were, are and always will be her earthly guardian angel!! Happy New Year Hope and Julie!!
Sandra, you are so right, as usual. When I first saw Hope, I thought that she would die, but then along came Julie, the ANGEL, as I have always referred to her!!!! I think Hope's story has influenced me greatly in doing something about the poor unfortunates. You've come a long way, Baby (Hope) with the love and care of angel Julie, a hero of mine. Thanks for keeping us updated, Julie!
What an incredible love story!!! Another miracle!
Nice to hear from all of you and Hope thanks you for all the well wishes and kind thoughts! The best to all of you in the New Year! :D :D
Julie, do you have any updates or pictures of your other poochies??
Reading about Orin (update in rescue under the Trooper thread) reminded me that it's been a long time since we've had a Hope update! Julie, please check in when you can! Love and hugs to Hope, our miracle pup!:) And angel Julie, of course!:D
Does time fly by or what?!!! Thanks for checking on Hope. The miracle girl is doing great and loves the grandbaby. It will be 2 years on July 15 that we found Hope. She is holding steady at 72 pounds- a far cry from the 27 pounds when she was found. She is living proof that miracles do happen. She has added so much to my life and I pray that I will have her for a while. I will get an updated picture and post it soon. Hi to everyone out there who helped me along the way with Hope. I couldn't have done it without your support and prayers! :D
Julie!!! I'm so glad to hear from you. And I'm thrilled that Hope is doing well. I can't wait for an updated picture. I wish you could come visit more often, I love to hear your stories about the poochies. When you post Hope, can you add your others too??
What a great update, Julie!! I'm so happy to hear that our precious Hope is doing so well and keeping that weight on!:) Cant' wait to see her beautiful face again! Thanks so much for checking in...make sure you give Hope a BIG hug and kiss from us!:) Sandra

Julie, thanks so much for the update!!! Hope really is a miracle dog and you are her angel!!! Who would have thought that she could survive that ordeal!!!! Hugs to you and Hope. Thanks for all you do. (Waiting for the pictures!!)
I'm so glad that Sue introduced "Hope" to us so long ago, and I'm glad that I looked at her picture, then, because now I have an even greater appreciation for the wonderful "turn of events" in her life, Julie, thanks to you!!!! It is terrific to get an update and know that Hope is still doing well!!! Thanks so much for the update!!! :)
