Well the guy wasn't home to show the house so we'll see about tommorrow.
Not to worried yet . If we do get this one I wil have my own office and family room . Tim will have his own family room to. Plus a shop big enough to pull a semi in . Pray the guy will rent it to us.
Not a bad day at work either had a surprize hubby rode his Gold wing up and had lunch with me and 6 crazy women.
Sorry I've been absent - I've had a busy day. We just re-rented our house (that we bought to be a rental) to a very nice woman with one cat.:D
What made everything extra special was that her check for the first month's rent/deposit was made out to me, and not my husband (like the last two tenants always did). I never thought this bothered me until I saw that check in my name - and I'm very lucky to have a husband who doesn't have issues about something like this.
Then to top things off, I stopped at the grocery store and picked up some beer (real, not cyber ;) ) and guess what - I was CARDED!!!!
(for anyone keeping track, I'll be 49 in June - that's human years, not dog years).
So now that I've had the best day of my life - I'll have one of Richard's slushies - I don't care who makes it.:D :D
Corrina - I wish you the best of luck with finding a rental of your own.
Your age was checked at 49.
Wow mate, you got to be happy with that.:D
It's the start of a long weekend downunder. We celebrate ANZAC day on Monday (as does Carole in NZ). So might just start of with a beer to commemorate all the brave "diggers" of Australia & New Zealand.:)
OK Trev, pony up here.. what's ANZAC day (sounds like a drug) and what is a "digger"?? Maybe by the time we do a PT Meeting down under we will actually understand the lingo?? ;) You know, all that "dunny door" etc :D
You and Trev just don't speak the same language, do you Laurie? :D I think ANZAC day celebrates the first major engagement of Australian and New Zealand troops during WWI at Gallipoli (and what does "pony up" mean anyway????!!)
Laurie talks funny doesn't she??:D But we love her just the same.
Pony Up? It means contribute - do your part - pay up..........I guess it is British in origin.
Waaayyyy to early here to be thinking about a drink - so a large coffee would be nice. I'll start a fresh pot.
Oh pshaw, you think I "talk funny" now? Wait until September 19 .. International Talk Like a Pirate Day [stow that new-fangled jaw waggin' ye gobs!!] You ain't heard nothing yet :D Gini, in honor of an upcoming trip to Ireland please allow me to sprinkle some Bailey's over your coffee ;)
Well, shiver me timbers, I'll join you in some of that coffee and Baileys. September 19 is a Monday. Can we fly the Jolly Roger in the bar on the nearest Thursday?
We have and we will matey.. after all "graba a face risipa" as the Romanians would say  Just ask Tom the Cat ;)
Excuse me? Hmm, you were right Gini, Laurie does talk funny. Now let me just find my Romanian phrase book ...
OMD Gini...what the heck were you doing up so early? Were the orangies complaining about empty bowls??
OK so we've got Oggy and Laurie talking like an Auzzie pirate, we've got Gini riding a pony and Karen is taken that Anzac drug. The things I miss so early in the morning. This is all way to much to take in to early.
A new batch of Bailey's is on the bar, help yourself. Richard didn't check in last night???
Julie...you were carded???
On the other end of that scale, when I went to the Pet Expo here in Vancouver I joked that I had grey hair and could I get in for the pensioner's rate? She said sure...so I saved myself 2 bucks.;) :D
Weather is hot here again today so I'm just going to grab a big bottle of ice water.
Hi, everyone!
Sorry to have missed the party this week. I was busy dodging tornados. Kansas had 18 yesterday and one took a bead on our town. Lukily it went south of us.
I'm just going to grab 4 cat nip teas for the cats and a cherry limeade for myself. Tornado or no, they must have their treat! :D
The weather is so odd. Yesterday it was in the 80s, today it's in the 50s. No wonder we had twisters!
Mario are you being a good boy? Hmmm????? Somehow, I doubt THAT!
;) :D
Actually Mario is behaving pretty well today. I think he's making up for getting kicked out of the grocery store when he and I were restocking the bar food on Wednesday  Here in the mid-Atlantic we too went from 80 to 50 but no tornado threats or sightings thank doG. Earthquakes and hurricanes I've dealt with but I think a tornado would truly freak me out. Hunker on over while I fix the tea and limeade... SEE! Mario is even giving you some of his special stash of cherries :D
Good morning Connie....I'm sure glad you and the furry ones are safe and sound.
I'll go and put on the kettle for the tea. Have a seat and relax.
Well wouldn't you know, Slick & I get to fight over who gets your tea :p FOOD FIGHT FOOD FIGHT :D
WOW! I AM honored! Mario doesn't share his stash of cherries very often!
I think I'll park in front of the fire and take a nap while the tea is brewing! I'm really tired today! Wake me if I snore too loud! I hope I'm out of range of the FOOD FIGHT!:D
Good morning everyone. Its an absolutely beautiful day here in the rose city. We've had non-stop rain for a month - but the good news is that western Oregon is no longer in danger of a summer drought:eek:
I brought some of my tulips in from my garden. They are currently at their exquisite best:D I'll just put them in a vase and set them on the counter.
momo - YIKES - be careful out there.

FOOD FIGHT FOOD FIGHT
:D :D OMD, not in here! If we start, and Mario joins in, can you imagine the mess we would make? Richard would have a fit! LOL
Tell you what, the kettle is boiling so you can make the CNT and we'll both serve it up.....Momma always told me to share....
Julie, those tulips are beautiful. Thanks for bringing them in. No Mario, there are not for eating....
We've had gorgeous weather all week and I heard it's going to get up to 70 this weekend. :) Glad to here about your drought situation. I'm sure our water restrictions will start next month.
Connie, the weather sure is weird! In Pittsburgh this weekend they are talking about the potential for some S S SNOW! And at the end of April, no less!Quote:

Gee! David, I can't believe this weird weather! You don't need to feel the need to share that snow with us though, ok? ;)Quote:

We are to have lows in the 30s for the next few days as it is. At least no tornados with it!
Best get the cnts to my critters. They have formed a picket line and are marching around the computer with signs saying, "mawmee is unfair!" and "we want cnt!"
Mario, thanks for sharing your cherries. You didn't take them out of your diaper though, did you? :D

Sounds yummy Slick! At least I stuck to Fat Friday in real life. I had pastrami with grilled onions and BBQ sauce on ciabata (?) bread. Yuuuum-my! LOLOLOLOL Here's your Alka Seltzer Connie.
Plop, plop, fizz, fizz
Oh what a relief it is....

No food fights please!! I've washed enough guacamole off the walls in my time. No more!!
You bet Karen. Just help yourself. All the fixin's are over on the bar. DONE! :)Quote:

I'll have a red slushie if you have one handy.
I got a chuckle earlier. I opened a can of sliced black olives (yep, for nachos). Guess what brand they were?
MARIO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I didn't know the little fellow had his own olive company. Must be how he can afford all the cherries and beer he consumes!
:D
No more RAIN! It's raining (again  ) in San Francisco. I'm SO tired of it! Some sort of sunshine drink would be perfect! A tequila sunrise?Quote:

I can give everyone some of the lovely sunshine from down under if you want. It's a beautiful day here.
Might just have a Pimms.
Well, I've been out all day and here it is another Sat night I'm home....nothing on TV, the cats have been fed and brushed, so now it's Pet Talk time.
Hi Trev. What are ANZAC biscuits???? Hmmmmm...Pimms...I used to drink that decades ago. Just look behind the bar and I'm sure there's some in stock. BTW...Trevelle says HI to Uncle Trevor.
Laurie....I used to make those same brownies in the 60's. ;)
Richard....thanks for checking in. :)
Connie...too funny. If Mario can spit cherry pits, imagine what he can do to olive pits???
The weather here all week has been like summer. Today our high was 72 and it's supposed to get warmer as the week progresses.
I guess this week, we should drag out that BBQ and clean it off.
Here's a recipie Slick, I think Trevelle would like them, give her a hug from me.
Traditional Anzac Biscuits
Anzac biscuits received their name during the First World War. Up until that time people had been baking “Soldier’s biscuits” for the troops, based on a recipe derived from the Scottish oat cake. The main feature was that no eggs were used otherwise the biscuits would spoil on the long journey to the front.
These were renamed as Anzac biscuits after the campaign at Gallipoli.
Degree of difficulty: Low
You need:
There are literally thousands of variations of this recipe used throughout the country. We have listed the ‘dry ingredients’ which can be mixed together first and then the two processes involving heat and wet ingredients.
Traditional biscuits
'Wet ingredients' - 1
125 grams butter
2 tablespoons golden syrup
'Wet ingredients' - 2
1 tablespoon boiling water
1 teaspoon baking soda
Dry ingredients
1 cup rolled oats
1 cup coconut
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup flour
1/2 cup sugar
Method:
Mix all the dry ingredients together in a large bowl. In a saucepan gently melt the butter then add the golden syrup and heat, stirring until thoroughly combined. Put the baking soda in a cup or small bowl then pour in the boiling tablespoon of water.
Pour this foaming mixture into the warm butter/golden syrup mixture and stir to incorporate - it will foam up. Now gradually add the wet mixture to the dry ingredients, stirring well to incorporate.
Place walnut size pieces of the dough on a buttered oven tray and then press down with the back of a fork to flatten.
Bake at 175 degrees C for approx 17 mins.
:D
