Hi Everybody...BUDDY"S BACK !!!! YEA
Bud is very much improved since last time
i saw him.He can stand on all four legs now.
They went us out to my car to help him
get inside it.As we were walking the vet tech
pointed out to me that although she had the
belly sling on him for added support he was
indeed able to hobble along on his own..
I do see a LOT of improvement...but as
someone already pointed out'one day at a time'...
Thank You! Thank You!! Thank You!! all you
Guys for the encouragement, support and prayers.
Please keep'm coiming...
P.S. Sue..The surgeon said that he did,nt
use the wrapping technique himself although
some doc's do.Says unwrapped,i can better
check for unusual redness,drainage,etc.
Was told that Bud had chewed out some of
his sutures and had to be restiched this
morning.(They sent home a e-collar to use
if necessary. but I was so excited about how
much better he seemed..i forgot to ask how
to use the thing) Well Bud is sleeping now
and i think i grab a pillow and join him...
Thanks again Everybody...
I am so glad to hear the good news. I hope he continues to feel better :D
Welcome home, Buddy! I am very happy to hear you are feeling a little better. Get well soon, Bud! Take it easy and dont chew on your booboos! Kisses from me and Daisy!
Yea! Buddy! Hope that today finds you feeling even better! And as Bridget says, no chewing your boo-boo! :D Love and get well quick wishes to you sweet Buddy! Love, Sandra, Cody and Star
Hi Buddy!
I bet you're happy to be home :D All your friends here are happy too for you and Liz.
Take it easy for a while and get well soon.
Hugs and kisses :)
A big welcome home!
Woo Woo Woo.
Now make sure you stay calm,
well rested and give yourself
plenty of time to heal.
Hugs
Welcome Home big boy and it is so nice to know everything is healing well. You take it easy and take some naps along with your Mom and everything will be great. So glad to have you home where you belong.
Jackie
How are you today, Buddy? I hope you left those stitches alone!! Rest and take it easy. We're thinking about you!!
Hey Buddy, how you doing today? You are on the road to recovery now to you just keep your spirits up and eat your krunchies and soon you will be strong and ready to rip and run with the rest of them. Tell mommie to give you lots and lots of rubs and love from all of us here at Pet Talk. And remember...keep that tail up.
Hi Everyone,
Bud is continuing to show progress(Thank God
for answered prayers) Some friends of me & Bud came over to the house & installed a ramp
(3 1/2ft wide X 9 ft. long) up the front
porch steps, and tacked down some old carpet remnants up the middle of the ramp. They had
it completed before Buddy & i got back home.
It was a real lifesaver & Bud took to it right away. The Doc says restricted activity
for 3 weeks & surtures removed after 10 days.
I must say to all you guys that i spoke
out of sadness ,anger & disappointment when
i posted those harsh words earlier about Bud's 'aftercare' at the Vet Hospital.
In fact medically speaking, he checked out
just fine. (and there were no surgical complications). In fact, the Tech staff were
just as suprised as me when he "balked at
the gate' so to speak.I was able to act calm
& collected & in the moment at the time.
(There was never any doubt that any animal
treated can stay as long as needed after
surgery.Until it is safe for them and
practical for their humans to take them
home. The Vet Tech Staff are very caring &
responsive,and knowledgeable when it
comes to the furry guys. i spoke harshly
and i am very sorry about it now...
The sounds of extreme pain that came from
my furbaby brought out the old "Momma Bear'
instinct i guess. Please believe me The Staff didn't deserve it & i'm sorry i said it.
Rachel..How did you know that Buddy's very
favorite thing is to have his chest stroked
and rubbed.(Puts him right to sleep)HEE HEE
Bud...You must be one special pup! Your own welcome home ramp!! :D I am so glad you are feeling better and better every day! And liz, don't worry about your "harsh" words!! Your reaction is very understandable, considering your concern for your baby. All medical people understand that family's often react that way out of fear and stress! Please give the Bud Man a great big belly rub and lots of kisses!!! Love, Sandra Cody and Star
Tatsxxx11...
Thanks for understanding..Although i didn't
say anything negative in person to the staff
people..i felt since i had expressed my
feelings here, i owed it to the Vet Tech Staff to apologize here too...
Thanks, liz & bud.
:D :D :D :D :D :D :D Welcome home Buddy... so glad to hear that you're doing so well!!! And Liz... I know you feel bad about your negative thoughts.. but you said it yourself... the mama bear came out in you....
that's ok!!!!
Tucker and Hannah send some slurps for Buddy, and we hope each day has less pain and more strength and mobility.
God bless your friends for building him the ramp. They are my kind of people.
Keep your tail up, Buddy.
So glad Buddy is doing well, what nice friends you have to build that ramp, Buddy must be very special to all of them. We all say things when we are worried and upset about one we love, it is the mama bear instinct that comes out at that time and who can blame you. :)
Jackie
Hi Everyone,,,
Just a note to say that the Bud-Man is
doing good.Every day a little stronger.All
the swelling around the surgery site is gone,
also the bruseing of the leg is fadeing away.
What stiches he has left are being taken
out by my local vet this afternoon.
Buddy really wants to go outside more often
& also enjoys just sitting out on the front porch (with Mom of course). The house sits on
a small rise(hill) & Bud can check out the
neighborhood scene. No walks yet..but he can
smell the outside air & hear the familiar
sounds of his other doggie friends.
That's good news. Way to go Bud.
:)
Alright Buddy! You are the dog! That porch sitting sounds mighty relaxing and a good place to recouperate. So get them stitches out and come on back home to survey your territory. I sure wish I could join you there on the porch.
Keep your tail up, Bud.
So glad to hear that Buddy is doing so well!! Sit back, relax, be a couch potato for a while. It's great that the swelling is down and there are no problems. Sitting on the porch and watching the world go by sounds really good to me, too!!
It's so nice to hear good news about Buddy.
I'm so glad he is doing so well, there's not a better place on earth than sitting on a porch with someone you love.
Jackie
Yay Buddy! You go dog ;) Get well soon!
I can't think of a better way to recouperate than a little R&R on the porch, enjoying the view with your family! Soon you'll be up and running!!!! Hugs to you sweet Budster!
How are YOU holding up, Liz?
Sue... i'm doing O.K. Thanks for asking...
Your question caught me by suprise . i really
had to stop & think about it for a few minutes..i'v been on 'auto pilot' for awhile
now.. Bud is feeling better every day and i
am so glad about that!!!
Being the only human species living here,
makes it a little stressful at times.i have
two grown children who years ago started
lives on their own.(one lives out-of-state & the other (daughter) give me moral support
They each have pets of their own.
But i rest when Bud sleeps.Feel kinda bad
about the kitties though..Don't get all the
playtime they are used to.ONE DAY AT A TIME
is my new mantra!!
Thanks to you Sue and all the other Pet
Talkers for the messages of kindness & support!!! I really helps. You'll never know
how much.
Thank You Everybody..from Bud & me...
Good to hear that, Liz. I know how stressful it is on you. Each day will get better and better. Hang in there. I'll be thinking about you and the wonderful Buddy.
Hi Everyone..
Bud's getting more & more like his old self.
This morning on 'potty break' he wanted
to leap off the side of the ramp, instead of
walking all the way down it.With his 'short leash' & beach towel sling around his back end, i was able to steer him down correctly.
i thought maybe he was just had to GO NOW!!
but on the way back into the house Buddy did
the same thing...tried to step back up onto
the ramp from the side (about 1/4 the way up)
Bud wants to be my shadow again & follow
me around the house or lie outside the bathroom door while i shower..,It is hard to
make him stay still & rest. But Bud is teathered inside except for "potty breaks'
He has plenty of room to turn around in,just
cannot wander around the house at will like
he did before.
P.S. Sudilar...My local vet removed Bud's
sutures 8/10/01, & also removed the staples.
which kind of suprised me.Did Avalanche have
both stitches & staples removed at the same
time?? (Buddy's surgery site looks good)
Just wondering? Say Hi to Killian &Shiloh.
I am so glad Buddy is doing better! Daisy and I have been thinking of and praying for both of you. Keep getting better, Buddy!
Hi Liz and good ol' Buddy-boy. Glad to hear you're feeling better. Now's the time you have to really watch him because he feels good and thinks he can do everything.
Avie only had stitches and was bandaged. They didn't use any staples. She took the bandage off and had to be rebandaged. When they took out the stitches, they left her unbandaged.
Killi and Shiloh say Ruff, ruff!
Hi Everybody,
Buddy has an appointment for re-check & release by the surgeon in Anderson tomorrow.
i think Bud is doing so much better, but i'm
still kinda anxious to hear the what the Vet
thinks..
It's been real nice "porch sittin" weather
around Indy for the last 3-4 days, especially
early mornings or right before sundown.
I have to remember to keep a firm grip on
Buddy's short leash even when he appears to
be totally relaxed on the porch(laying down)
If somebody comes along walking their dog
he smells them & immediately sits up or
stands up to "check them out" No barks, just
real wants to see who's passing by.
Well, wish Bud luck one more time for a
good checkup.(I know you already do)
Hope to post a little after we've get back
home tomorrow. Thanks, from Bud and me.
Good luck tomorrow at the re-check appt.! Please let us know how it went. And of course, lots of hugs and kisses to brave, sweet, Buddy :) Love, Sandra, Cody and Star
Good luck, Buddy-Boy. I know you will be fine. Soon you'll be able to move around a little more. Keep us posted!!!!!
Sue, Killian and Shiloh
Good luck, sweet Buddy! We will say a little prayer for you. Please tell us how it goes!
lizbud,
Will be thinking of Buddy tomarrow when
he has his re-check. Don't forget to write down any questions you might have for your
vet. I am sure the Bud will pass with flying colors. :)

Buddy did really well on our trip to Anderson. Dr Lee said Buddy checked out just fine!!The vet said to let Bud walk around
a little more outside.(backyard/with leash)
to help him regain strength in his knee.
Doc said to remember Buddy had two procedures done so give it a few more weeks to heal up
internally. The pin is still in place & Bud
did not make a sound when the Doc moved &
flexed the leg.i'm so proud of that pup!!!
If that were me that had the surgery..i'd
still be complaining loudly & popping those
pain pills..DOGS ARE GREAT!!! Kitties too!!
Good boy, Buddy! What a super duper patient you have been. I know that you want to run and play, but you still got to take it easy. Now at least you can drag your mom around the yard on the leash. That will be fun. You and mom sure are going to have a lot of special together time through all this.
Keep your tail up, Buddy.
Great to hear that Buddy is doing well on his long road to recovery!! Now he can get a little exercise! Continued well-wishes are coming your way!!
Hurray for Buddy! I am so glad he is feeling better. What a little trouper!
So Glad to hear Buddy is doing so well, Good for him. Liz please give him a hug from Daisy, Perry and me and maybe a little special treat for being so good. :) :)

Jackie..
While waiting in the Vet's office yesterday
I got to see my first Standard Schnauzer.
He/She was a beautiful coal black color with dark eyes.I immediately thought of Perry & Daisy.(I know your babies are minis)But just
wanted to say how regal & beautiful the breed
is up close & personal.(Love the beards &
wiskers)
