I am enjoying every post! Indeed, you need to vacuum everyday, especially during shedding time. My sick vacuum is a 12 amp Kenmore upright that I have loved. If I had a lot of rugs and carpet, I might be more interested in spending a bundle. I actually gave someone my Rainbow, which was not cheap when I bought it in the "former" life. Thank you, Shais_Mom for the honest vacuum cleaner advice. I bought this last one at Sears and am going to take it to them for repair (hopefully). I haven't had it long enough for it to have died on me. This has been an extremely busy week for me and I haven't done anything but work. Thank you all for providing me with the occassional "sanity break".

She was just lying there chewing on it like a bone!) She is so proud and Helen sang to her this morning in the bed and Honey just laid across her and loved every minute of it. Just had to tell you all!!

Ihg: Happy Birthday to Honey!!! My Star was just 2 years old too. Give her a belated birthday hug! Karen: That sounds sooo painful; poor baby! Skin conditions are so tricky, often hard to diagnose. When they are chronic, they can be so discouraging. I am not familiar with such a condition. Am going to the vet on Monday and will ask them what they think! They are a big teaching hospital and love to "brainstorm." Don't despair! You're such a good Mama! Now, back to vaccums! I forgot about Electrolux! I think my mother still has hers; she got it when she got married which was almost 50 years ago! I didn't think they still made them. As for the "Swifters," they are a life saver!! Especially for those quickie cleanups. Just tried the wet ones, and they were excellent too, thought expensive. Over 10.00 for a box of 20 I think!!

You guys are too great!!! You know who gets the most enjoyment out of this, Helen, my daughter. Can't wait to share all the birthday wishes with her! Honey is her baby, after all. Honey says thanks too, although she has gone to bed now (with Helen and Lilly, of course). http://PetoftheDay.com/talk/smile.gif
Logan
I forgot to tell you that Mimi is in the bed too! What a family I have.

Well, I won't even get in on the vacuum discussion. It's a bone of contention here at home.
Logan: Shiloh, Monocle, D'Arganon and I all wish Honey the happiest of birthdays. (The middle two are my cats. I'm not sure they know they are cats). Yes, there will come a day when she grows up and will walk around mature and dignified (most of the time). The not good news is, it may not happen for a couple of years yet. Oh, well, enjoy her youth.
Karen: They actually spin and weave Samoyed coat combings and make clothing from it, so you probably could get a dog coat (maybe a matching one for the dog as well -- wouldn't you both look so chic together?) I know, I know, she already has one like it. Sigh, I tried. Well, it's 1 a.m. and I have to be up at 5 a.m. Good night all.
-
Hmmmmmm, a dog coat. I guess it would be ok as long as you didn't get it wet! http://PetoftheDay.com/talk/eek.gif
-
Happy belated Birthday Honey!!!! Did you get any special treats or presents? Tell us about them!
-
Here's the part where I look like a bad mom. I didn't get Honey a present http://PetoftheDay.com/talk/eek.gif. BUT....we're going to the kennel today (which is no present for Honey) but we're going to get her something real special there. Of course I have to buy two of anything because Lilly will steal it!
Honey had a very happy birthday, she got a can of food mixed in with the dry for her breakfast and got to eat alone and did not have to share with Lilly. Helen sang to her and we loved on her all day! She is a very happy two year old, lying in the sunshine right now, chewing on my hose!

Logan, forgot to mention that when I told Cody (9 on Dec 2!) that it was Honey's b-day right near his and she was a sweet lil girl, he "liquid brown eyes" stared at me and kissed me so I think that was for Honey! You know how I feel..vacuums, clothes,,whatver, like it or not, they are material things and can be replaced...I miss the puppy years. Thankfully Cody NEVER chewed anything- put a tennis ball in his mouth like a pacifier the second he came into our house.
OK went off the subject... I would LOVE a Cody coat to keep forever. I know I complain like a banshee but the day that there is no dog hair..(perish the thought) I'll complain more.
There is nothing like a dog (or cat) hair on your contact lens to keep in touch with reality!!!!!!! You haven't experienced pain until that very moment......
Took my own pet owner survey..Electrolux wins! (ok 3 out of 5 people I asked)
LOVED THE B-DAY CAKE!!!!

So, Karen and Paul, we are all waiting...where is it???... Vacuum of the Day! We want photos, rescue sories....
(We don't really!)
-
Carrie,
Are you getting tired of all the vacuum cleaner stories? I think they are quite insightful.....just need that moneytree in my yard.
Logan
-
No, I'm not fed up with them - I got my Dyson just over a year ago. I never thought I could become emotionally attached to a vaccum cleaner until I got it! I wouldn't be without it now!!
-
I just know you have all been wondering....my vacuum cleaner is not dead!! The old Kenmore is going to be ok and I fixed it myself! You can not believe how happy I was to clean up all the fern fronds and puppy hair last night!
Are your dogs afraid of the vacuum? Mine sure are. They run around and skid across the floors to get out of the way.
Just couldn't resist letting you know we're back in business, just in time to clean up under the shedding Christmas tree (it still doesn't have any decorations on it, but we're going to fix that tonight)!

Logan
Glad that the vacuum is fixed!!!
My black Lab Heidi, LOVES being vacuumed!! She will purposely stand in front of the vacuum cleaner until I vacuum her! Then she will allow me to vacuum the house! http://PetoftheDay.com/talk/biggrin.gif
-
My dog Buddy, keeps running in front of the vacuum! Beleive he thinks its a big squeaky toy and he is not sure how grab it!
-
My Killian will fight the vacuum and bite the hose (to defend me from it, of course). As soon as Shiloh sees the vacuum, she's off to my upstairs bedroom where it is safe for a while (till I get to that room). LOL

Have fun decorating the tree Logan! Cody isn't afraid of the vacuum at all....I practically have to vacuum him up! Yet I can't vacuum him with the hose, but I can nudge him. Then he'll move until I do the spot he was laying on, then lay back on it! Cody thinks I'm such a pest! http://PetoftheDay.com/talk/biggrin.gif
-
This is a bit of a subject change, but I got to see Cody and Karen today, through a wonderful picture. He is just beautiful!! (and so is she, tiny thing that she is)
Cody looks just like my parent's lab/GR mix, Scout. They could be brother and sister if I didn't know better.
-
Your dogs like being vacuumed? Daisy is DEATHLY afraid of the vacuum and we don't know why. It never hurt her or her toys or anything, but the moment we pull it out she starts flipping over backwards, gathering up her toys and hiding. The poor thing is so afraid!!! My mom always said it's too bad she doesn't like being vacuumed, it would help with all that hair she sheds!!! But vacuum Daisy? It's never gonna happen http://PetoftheDay.com/talk/smile.gif
-
I bribed Logan to say that about me!! But she's right about Cody! I've tried vacuuming Cody, he doesn't run, just moves away so I don't persue it, but it sure would help with all the hair. The only appliance that scares him to death is the blow dryer!
