Oh dear Liz, Sugar's sudden illness and death reminded me of a friend of mine's beloved dog Tucker who also suddenly got sick and died - it turned out he had been poisoned, probably someone put out poisoned meat for coyotes, as my friend lives in a pretty rural area. Tucker will probably be among the first to greet Sugar when he arrives at the Rainbow Bridge, as he liked kitty-cats, and knew they were his friends.
Phred is right, Sugar knew most of all that you loved him, and he'll be with Buddy to greet YOU some day at the Rainbow Bridge yourself.
Poor sweet Sugar, he'll live forever in your heart, and in all our memories of your stories of him.
I'm so sorry to hear about Sugar, Liz.
I don't visit the cat side often, but Sugar sounds special.
May he rest in peace, and play hard at the bridge.
:( :( :( :(
LIz,
you are in my thoughts and prayers.
Godspeed to the bridge sweet Sugar
Poem For Cats
And God asked the feline spirit
Are you ready to come home?
Oh, yes, quite so, replied the precious soul
And, as a cat, you know I am most able
To decide anything for myself.
Are you coming then? asked God.
Soon, replied the whiskered angel
But I must come slowly
For my human friends are troubled
For you see, they need me, quite certainly.
But don't they understand? asked God
That you'll never leave them?
That your souls are intertwined. For all eternity?
That nothing is created or destroyed?
It just is....forever and ever and ever.
Eventually they will understand,
Replied the glorious cat
For I will whisper into their hearts
That I am always with them
I just am....forever and ever and ever.

Oh Liz I am so sorry about Sugar. Thanks for sharing that poem, it's beautiful. I know Sugar will be forever happy at RB, he has lots of wonderful new friends there.
Liz, I sit here with tears in my eyes for you. Everyone is right, we love these guys so much that they become a part of us that can never be separated again.
Dearest Sugar, I hope that you will meet up with my own precious Sugar - because you are identical.
Play, have fun, because in our own time, we will join you someday.
Oh how horrible. I can feel your pain. We lost our Calvin to a similar situation. One day he was fine, and the next day he was gone. He lost control of his upper body. All tests showed nothing wrong. The only way we would know was to do an autopsy, which was too expensive ($500) for us. I'm so sorry.
Oh, Lizbud, I am so sorry to hear about Sugar. What an awful, awful loss. My heart goes out to you at this difficult time. RIP, Sugar, and play merrily at RB.

OMG. I'm sitting here crying over your sudden loss of sweet Sugar. What a shock! Now I'm thinking I really should get Mishi's teeth done, even though I can't afford it. I'm taking him in tomorrow for a nail clip and will ask the vet if she will work out payment terms.
Rest in peace at RB, little Sugar. Say Hi to my Goldie.

They will not go quietly,
The cats who've shared our lives.
In subtle ways they let us know
Their spirit still survives.
Old habits make us think
We hear a meow at the door.
Or step back when we drop
A tasty morsel on the floor.
Our feet still go around the place
The food dishes used to be,
And, sometimes, coming home at night,
We miss them terribly.
And although time may bring new friends
And a new food dish to fill,
That one place in our hearts
Belong to them...
And always will.

Oh, Liz, I am so sorry for the loss of your dear little Sugar. What a heartbreak. I know how you treasure your fur kids and are so in tune with them to know immediately that there was a problem. Please know that we care very deeply.
I just found out about poor Sugar! I'm so sorry. Godspeed to the Bridge, handsome white kitty.
I am so sorry to read this!!!
Rest in Peace, Sugar!!!
My most sincere condolences on the sudden loss of your precious Sugar. May God comfort you in this very difficult time.
Rest in sweet slumber, dear Sugar.:(
I went to the Vet Clinic to pick up the cat carrier & to pay the
bill for Sugar's treatment. The receptionist could not locate the
carrier & said the Dr. had not made out the bill yet, so I waited
for a few minutes. Dr. Walthers came out to the front office &
gave me the carrier & talked again about Sugar. He went over
the results of the post mortum tests with me again. He said
that Sugar could have walked through a toxic substance and
then licked it off his paws. Whatever it was, the result was very
fast acting & did not show up in the stomach contents. It was
systemically absorbed. Dr. Walthers remembered Sugar from
when I found him & first brought him in for an exam when I
first found him almost two years ago. Well, Sugar's gone from
me now, but I'll never forget him.I know he must have been
somebody's cat before he went missing. He was so appreciative
of just having food, shelter & someone to trust to give him head
pats , ear scritches & talk to him about his day when they got
home at night. He'll never be absent from my heart. I'm so glad
he wandered into my life, Thank you all for your sweet words &
kind thoughts about sweet Sugar man.
I'm so very sorry to read about this! :( :( How very sad! :( :( :(
R.I.P. Sugar!

It has been six months since my kitty Sugar made his journey
over Rainbow Bridge. I wanted to post a poem in remembrance
of my sweet little Sugar Man. This is a poem that Zippy Kat posted
at his passing & it expresses my feelings very well. I Love you Sugar. Thanks for passing by my way in life.

Rest In Peace, lil Sugar Man...
You are missed :(
I hope all is well with Sugar.
RIP Surgar.
I hope your trip to the bridge was good and I know that you are now having a wonderful time there with all of ours.
I know what you are going through.
Just remember, Sugar is only gone in body; his spirit is still with you.
I was sweeping out the garage last week & moved an old
empty computer box that sits under the kitty window perch. There behind the box were big tuffs of white fur.:( Sugar used to sit
and groom himself there. I moved the box back to it's place and
left the fur there.:( We never forget them do we? Be happy my
little Sugar man.
Sweet Sugar , is of course in our prayers , and we are hoping that once his teeth have been taken care of m, that he will be his old Sweet Self! John had the same problem last year , and was all right , but only he lost , all but 2 of his teeth! Prayers are coming from The Found Cats Hotel!
I am sorry , I missed the thread where Sugar passed on. We are so sorry about this , I shold have checked the previous pages first. Sugar was a good Cat , and judging by his photo a happy Cat. The Cats on the Rainbow Bridge have welcomed Sugar to the fold , and once again condolences and apologies!
