Aly,

come on Aly, stop keeping us in suspense ;)
:D
The babies and I are doing great. They just turned 8 days old today and I've had them for a week. I am finally able to switch them to feedings every 3-4 hours instead of every 2 hours.
I think I should rename Sebastian to Chunk because that boy is HUGE! He's so much bigger than little Piper and he's quite the pig. Piper is the vocal one of the two. She cracks me up because she reminds me of a roly poly (or however you spell it). Sometimes she'll roll over on her back and get stuck, hehe.
And pictures? Did someone say pictures????? ;) :D

I moved them off the newborn bottle and on to a bigger bottle because they're eating much more at a time :)

Look at the chunky boy compared to his sister!

Awww! Those sweet puppy pics just made my day!!! :)
WAY TOOOO PRECIOUS!!!!!
Oh my goodness gracious.
*SWOON*
It's hard for me to believe that Kia may of possibly been that small at one time. Amazing.
It looks like Skylar has really taken a liking to the little tykes. :D
Do the puppies try to treat him like a mommy? :D
Hehehe, I keep holding the puppies up to Lolly and telling her that she was that small one time. I'm having a hard time imaging any of my animals that small.Quote:

Skylar loves the pups. At first, he REALLY wanted to get them out of the way because he still wanted to be the baby. But he's been hanging out with my big tough foster boy kitties, so he is starting to enjoy being bigger and tougher than at least someone in the house. He lets them nurse on him and crawl on him.
Those pictures are just what I needed to see today! They are so precious! Thanks for sharing them--
They are soo adorable Aly!!! I can't belive how tiny!!!
Geez, I just got back from the emergency vet. Piper scared me out of my wits.
I was feeding her and she spit out the bottle, and a little came out her nose. It sounded like she was choking a little but that might have been my imagination. I burped her and listened to her lungs to see if I could tell if there was fluid in them. Then she just sort of went limp in my hands and I FREAKED out. I literally screamed, threw the bottle, and took both her and Sebastian to the emergency vet as fast as I could. I was sobbing the whole way there because I knew that she was dead or would be soon. When I got there and we took the sheet off that I had covering the crate, little Piper was just fine. She was crawling around looking for the rest of her meal. Turns out she had just fallen asleep in my hands and I panicked :o :o :o
The vet told me that I didn't do anything wrong and sometimes it just happens that they aspirate.
Oh Aly, what a horrible night for you!! :(
But I am *soooo* glad that the puppers are doing OK. I know what a scare they can give you.
How lucky I was to check out the dog site:I would have missed these cute babies. Aly -you are an angel!
And little Skylar too -he himself is still a baby and now he is big angelcat for Piper and Sebastian. :D :) :) :)
Oooh, I'm so glad to hear they are both doing so great!! Keep up the good work and of course pictures whenever you have time:D
OMG, aly, I would have rushed the puppette to the ER too!!! of course, after I woke up from my fainting! I'm so glad it was nothing to worry about! I know puppies are so fragile at that age and anything can happen!
Hugs to you and keep on keeping on.
Skylar is adorable, too!!
Oh my gosh! Aly I just found this thread and am ooohing and aaahing like a crazy person! I, too, wish I lived closer so that I could help out! These puppies are just precious, and I agree with everyone else - you are a saint for sure. St. Aly! How does that sound?
Sue, I think you have coined another name for our Pet Talk dictionary - "puppette." I love it!!!! :D :p
Oh Aly!!! What a scare you had! I would have done the exact same thing, though! It's tough being Mom to newborns!:) The pictures are just TOO precious! OMG! What cuties! And isn't Chunk, I mean Sebastian, the big boy!:D What a great job you're doing, Mama Aly! You're phenomenol!! Give the babies hugs and kisses from me!
Oh what an awful scare that must have been! Glad everything's ok and hopefully you can get some rest now that they're on 3-4 hours instead of 2. Michael's having a fit to see pics, so whenever you post new pics, I call him at work and tell him to log on and see them. He keeps asking can't we have Piper? :D
I hope that woman that sold the dog gets her karma back thousands worse! Poor mama dog, wondering where her babies are. I'm so glad everyone was able to help all the babies. At least there's some good coming out of this.
I have raised so many newborn kittens, and rat babies, but never had the chance to raise puppies. They are just adorable! :D
What kind of person would throw them away? My god, did someone call the cops on her at all? Some people, I swear. Hope they get really fat soon!
I have had some of my kittens, especially my older rescue River have milk come out their nose before. They eat too fast and it happens. I know how scary it can though, but I think you handled it well. :)
Can't wait to see more pics!
How in heaven's name are you ever going to be able to let these two babies go? They are like your very own now - right?
Boy, I sure would like my nephew to have one to go with his five year old black lab, Mingus!
Yes micki! I think you need a big black dog to fit in with your three little ones :DQuote:

Ohhhhh mickiiiiiii .... maybe Millie won't be scared of Piper when she gets big since she'd meet her when Piper will still be smaller than Mille :D :D
I'm being bad. I'll stop my suggestions and let your husband continue begging :)
I can't believe it took me this long to get over here to hear this horrible story, and see these sweet, sweet little critters! I have to agree with everyone, Aly, you are truly a saint and like everyone says, there is karma. Just like that unspeakable woman will get hers, you are also going to get yours. I'm sure that you will be repaid ten-fold for all the good you've done for these and all the helpless babies you've helped. I wish more people had only 1/10th of your compassion.
Now, on to the puppies. OMG! I can't believe how adorable they are!!!
  I guess he's a big boy. Looks like he's going to squish his poor little sister.
http://www.imagestation.com/picture/...9/fb6599c7.jpg
And I think this is one of the sweetest pics I've seen in a long time. Awwww......

"He lets them nurse on him and crawl on him."
This is just sweet beyond words. I could smooch that poor little Skylar to death for being such a sweetie to these pups. :D
I'm so glad little Piper was ok! Geeze I would have freaked too.
Thanks for taking such little darlings and for keeping us updated too. :)
He hasn't seen Piper in pink yet. Oh, boy. He's gonna be impossible to live with once he sees that! Yeah, Millie'd probably be ok if she met a puppy then it grew up around her. That's Michael's argument, too. :) :pQuote:

What an unbelievable story.How can people be so cold and uncaring?Was she reported for animal cruelty?Here that would be against the law but what about where you are,is it?It is just so wrong the poor babies,yet so lucky to have you.I am so glad they are doing so well.What about the others?Do you know how they are doing?The pics are so wonderful, we love them, we have Mojo ,our lab rescue who will be 1 Sept 7th (approx).We got him at 7 weeks from the rescue.Peoples cruelty :mad: never ceases to amaze me! :eek: Thanks for being there for these babies you and the other voluteers to save them.They are lucky babies :D My thoughts are with you all {{{{Hugs to all furbabies and humans alike}}}}}}
Laurie

Aly! Are you reading this? You are just KILLING me with these pictures of the puppies. Now just stop it immediately, or I will be down at your house, on the floor hand feeding them too.
Or if you want me to clean up the poop, I can do that too!
And I am a cat person..................Oh Rascal, but they are so wonderful - honest!
How are these little cuties doing? My husband, too, keeps asking about the babies ever since I showed him their pictures. :) We'd love an update, with pictures of course! :D
OMG Aly, those pictures are just too cute :D:D That must be such an amazing experience to raise pups from that age :x I'd love to do that sometime :)
The puppies turned 4 weeks old on Tuesday and are doing good. They are doing a bit better eating on their own, but still need about 4 bottles a day because they aren't eating enough on their own.
It is a very incredible experience, but somewhat challenging and VERY TIRING. I've had bronchitis the whole month that I'd had them. I finally went to the doctor and got some medicine so hopefully I'll get better soon.
Its hard to get pics because they are so squirmy and wiggly, but I will try to get some good ones today :)
I played w/ a 4 wk old dachsund yesterday...SOOOO tiny! (He was the runt.)
It'll be interesting to compare the size between your two and this little fellow. :)
Oh, Aly, we would love to have some recent pictures.
(I am sorry you have been sick)
Piper is probably about the same size as the Doxie, if not smaller. I swear she's not growing. Sebastian is a chunk though!Quote:
