Sadly I can't make it this time.
But I know everyone will have a blast and I look forward to pics. :)

Guess who might be coming!!!
This time I'm working harder on Dustin! So :p
According to Yahoo Maps it's:
545.7 miles
and
8 hours 23 mins
but that's taking us straight thru Indianapolis, which is bad for us little country folk. Anyone know of a way to bypass there?
Thanks in advance!
I may be interested in joining you!!
Do you have an address to the bark park so I could use mapquest and see how long it would take from my house!!
Thanks!!
For you Out-of-Townerz trying to find the BarkPark ~
You're looking for the "K-9 Field of Dreams Dog Park"...
Located behind Pavilion # 7,
inside the Hancock (County) Parks "Riverbend Recreation Area"...
Just SOUTH of Ohio route 568...
ON Marion Township Road 208...
about 5 miles South West from downtown Findlay, Ohio.
If you follow the instructions below (from another Thread) -
You can see and/or Print (must use a color printer) a series of Very Detailed area maps that show all the local Township, County, and State roads. You might want to shift (left & right; up & down) slightly to see all the township road Numbers and Names on the zoomed-in maps - but the zoom-in detail is excellent!
GO TO: http://www.mapquest.com
Click on their *Maps* link - you'll get a fill-in-the-blanks form ~
In "Address/Intersection" -
type in "township 207 AND township 208"
(without the quotes).
In "City" put Findlay; in "State" put OH;
no Zippy Code required.
MapQuest will pop up a super-zoomed-in little map -
shows a square corner of the reservoir and the two roads Twp 207 & Twp 208...
Just about where the "208" block is shown is almost *Zaktly* where the BarkPark iz, just below or south of where Twp 208 hangs a 90 degree turn to the left (west)!!
You can use the "Big Map" clicker to blow things up and cut down on the ads showing... then Zoom Out to get a better idea of "where" you are.
Zoom out slowly - too many jumps and you'll be seeing half of the USA!
After you look at the map -
You can click on "Driving Directions" and reference the Location you entered for the map, and your Home Address -
MapQuest will then display a set of Turn-By-Turn Driving Directions.
-----------------------------------------------
And ALL the important intersections *DO* have signs with either the Road Name or Number!! But read the WHOLE sign! As you get close - ALL the signs start with "MARION" followed by the road NUMBER! (Dad wuz thunkin there wuz a Lotta roads named "Marion".)
If you ask someone for directions - be sure to say "RiverBEND" Park - there are several other little parks in the Hancock Parks District with names starting with "River..."
** Pay attention to Routes 23 and 15 -- (if you use the southern approach)!! It "looks" like the same road (actually a highway) with both numbers - but Not So! You leave Upper Sandusky (route 30) onto Ohio 23 and OMG! 23 just morphs into Ohio 15 as you get closer to the Findlay Reservoir.
On most Highway Maps, the Findlay Reservoir appears as a rather large, square shaped Lake - south-east of the City of Findlay. Good Landmark! The Dog Park is within a quarter mile of the north-east corner of that Reservoir!
Mapquest still takes us thru Indy! :p
Well, Mapquest tells me it's would take me a little over 3 hours to get there. I don't know how well Buddy would be in the car that long!! (Our drives have never been over 45 mins.) But we shall see!!!
I would LOVE to take them there, that park is HUGE!! I just know they would love it!!

Missouri is a BIG state!
WHERE are you starting out from (TOWN Name = ??)
As for going thru INDY -
You might spend a lot of time trying to Bypass Indy...
Grit you teeth and take a deep breath! :p
Or look at a MapQuest of just Indianapolis;
then Zoom out and Plot you Own Trail around it.
MapQuest *may* give you an "Option" of excluding Indy from your route. I never tried that.
Tell us What Town you're Starting from;
and I'll see what we can figure out.

LOL a big state full of little towns.
It's Matthews MO where we are from now.
Might just let Dustin drive the Indy part. I freaked out going a mile into Memphis TN last summer! I grew up driving on gravel roads don't be throwin me into these big cities. :p
Sorrie bout dat!
We all got purdy distracted by dat "other matter"
an plum furgot we'z playin "Tripple A" on this thread.
Hey Andie ~
MapQuest says it's just about the same in Time and Mileage if you go through INDY or take another route that runs you through Kentucky and then Cincinnati.
Given the two choices - the more northern route thru Indy is probably the better choice. Cincinnati is a larger city - so the Interstate passing either thru or around Cinci will have you in congested, city traffic for a longer time going thru Cinci. The city traffic period to pass thru Indy should be less.
Matthews, MO to Findlay, Ohio, via Indy - is about
9 Hours of driving...
Covering 550 miles.
Best pack a lite lunch! :p
Let us know if you need more ideas.
;)

Just kidding;) have a great time!
:D :D :D
Cinder & Smoke, here's a lil tip for you, so you won't starve on the truck going home. ;) Not that I think there's any risk of that! Make to sure to grab some cookies pretty early on while dad is all confused and busy, and go hide then in the glove box - it's up front I guess. You should be able to reach that. :DQuote:

Have fun all! :D
Food~ I don't think I will bring Cheetos again:p Even though they are good. I will bring some treats for the Doggies and I'll make some (non doggie)Dog Chow, It's Chex covered in peanut butter, chocolate, and sprinkled with powdered sugar. Trust me it's great and I'm an Ok cook (I want to become a Home ec. Teacher when I grow up so I've had some experience) I don't think I'll bring any pop this time. But if you like the idea of the "Not for Doggies Dog Chow" I can bring that:)
I like the dog chow....it's yummy:D
Brad, you could always come again!!
As for food, I have no idea (not a cake, that's for sure-had a little accident last time:o ) But I'll think of something!
What, Brad? You can't come? But I was so looking forward to meetiung Callahan (and Mitchie, too) - oh yeah, and you in person!
I was THINKING of bringing MooShoo with me for the day. He's very laid back and mello and does well on a harness. He doesn't mind dogs at all and I though it would be nice if everyone could meet him.
I would also bring a BIG carrier to put him in should he get tired or restless.
We had a kitten (Sammi) at the last meeting and he did very well (they had him on the grass in rabbit caging with his food and litterbox in it.)
What do you guys think???? :D :D :D
I think I'm jealous, that's what I think. :D
I would "LOVE" to meet Moo:D
Sure, Moo - Cum'on ober!
Bye-da-bye - How fast kan you *RUN*?
 Dad's  !
"Dad" here...
Although they both *live* with a KAT - Cinder & Smokey Have Been Known to give a kat or two a bit of a *run for it's money* when one ventures too close to the Shop.
That said - both should be fine with a Visinting Kat - once introductions are made and Butts Are Swatted if either one gets a bit too excited.
But we can't speak for ALL the Pet Talk Pups, nor any of the "Locals".
Moo might get a lil more attention than he'd *like*; but he should be safe enough in Mom's arms.
Only other worry might be the elements - too warm/cold or sunny... but then he should be OK under the Pavilion cover if the weather gets too extreme.
As for Sammy's visit - he seemed to be OK with everything Outside the Bark Park Yard...
But I don't *think* he ever ventured INside.
Summary - if the weather won't bother him -
bring ole Moo Kat along!
:D
The boss may be out of town that weekend and if that is the case I just may make it!
:D :D :D
Phred,
Did you guys know that there's no need to go through
downtown Indianapolis when coming west to east through
Indiana ? We have a I465 loop around the city. It connects
all Interstate routes through Indiana & bypasses the city proper.
http://www.yoursportsdoc.com/media/loc_map465loop.jpg
Well, I'll have to give it some more thought. I wouldn't bring him into the dog area as it IS their territory. I also don't know much about the other dogs. I would definitely keep him in the pavillion with me and would have a large carrier where he could retreat, should he become restless or tired.
Hmmmmmmm...anybody else care to comment???

Bring Moo! I'd looooove to meet him, as an envoy of the Cat side of Pet Talk! He loves attention at Cat Shows, right? Just think of all the adoration he'll get at a Pet Talk meeting!
And Brad, hope the boss goes away so you can come, too! :) Love to meet those Dobie Boys!

I can honestly tell you that Callihan and Mitchy love the taste of cat....;)
Of course I'm kidding! We have a cat and they don't bother her at all!
:D :D :D
Well, I guess that answers my question :D :D. Looks like me and Moo will be there with bells on :D.
I'm also gonna post a poll in the Dog section to see who else would like to vote.
See you then!! ;)
