DSL and Cable are different (both are high speed though). For one, cable is hooked up by threw a cable connection, DSL through something like a phone cord (only it;s bigger)
DSL CAN be faster then Cable, or the other way around. DSL is better if you want to network a bunch of computers. It's also better if everyone else around you has cable. If everyone else DOES have cable (and youdo as well) then your connection will be slower because of this. DSL however, it doesn't matter how many people around you have it, it will be the same.
My dad prefers DSL. We have 5 computers hooked up on one network trhough a server computer.
As I've said, my mom has cable and my dad DSL. To be honest, I don't notice much difference other then downloading (which I don't even notice that anymore. It use to dl a lot faster at my moms, but it doesn't anymore)

Slow 56k dial up for me :(, but i am not paying $90 a month just so i can view oversized photos, faster net connection etc. I am happy enough with my dial up it is better than nothing. ;)

I have DSL at home. Where I was living before, they had a cable internet connect that was down nearly 24/7. The cable service around here is crummy because they keep breaking the lines with all the road construction going on
My parents tried to get Cable before they ended up with DSL. They signed up and bought the hardware for it but then the cable company said that cable internet wasn't available. $90 later...thanks for telling us!
DSL isn't too expensive for us ($40 a month) but thats because we get our cell phones, house phone, and satelite tv through the same company. One bill, no hassle and no forgetting to pay lol!

Mine is a cable connection. Normally it is very high speed. It only slows down around 5 pm every day. Everyone must rush home, and turn on their computers after work.
