Ok, a few more pics and I've gotta get to work. :D
So I called to him and he came this time, talking the whole time. I had to answer the phone, and when I turned around, this is what I saw.

I pet him a little and got this.

And this

Then he went and sat on his scratcher - goofy kitty.
http://www.imagestation.com/picture/...5/fbe4fdd8.jpg
And took a gander at the "toy" my boss rigged up. Didn't know what to make of it, so he went back to "his" office to take another nap.
http://www.imagestation.com/picture/...b/fbe4fdd3.jpg
He really seems to be sleeping a lot. I think he was up part of the night last night because the white door has paw marks all over it like he was trying to get to the window to see out (the window is about 3' from the floor). I had also put a piece of cardboard in the mail slot to block him from trying to get out that way, and the cardboard was on the floor this morning when my boss came in, so Eduardo must have got it out somehow. I'm sooo glad he is too big to fit through the mail slot, or he wouldn't be here right now.
Anyway, I'm hoping he's sleeping a lot because he knows he's safe and is catching up on a month of little to no sleep. Occassionally I'll call to him, he'll come out for a minute or two, then back to "his" office for another nap. Also, my boss is gone, so the lights are off in his office so I think that makes Eddie feel a little safer too.
Ok, gotta go to work now. Hope you all enjoy the pics! :D
Oh, and Sara, Kristen from Red Door called. She said they have a waiting list for kitties to get into their shelter, but that I should send her a pic and they will put him on the website and maybe show the pic to people if they don't find what they're looking for when they look over the kitties that are already in the shelter. So I'll be emailing her a pic and brief bio. :D
You might find T&P and E's S on your front door tomorrow, demanding to adopt your 13 cats ?!?Quote:

Oh, my, if I still lived in Illinois, I'd be driving to Chicago to get this guy! :D I think he'd be able to charm Edwina. ;)Quote:
He's gorgeous Debbie. Thanks for the great pics. :D I also agree that Edwina needs a brother. If Edwina's Secretary did accept your offer to keep him over the weekend, I don't think that this would be long enough for any one to tell if Edwina would get along with another cat. My cats accept other cats fairly easily and it takes them a minimum of a week unless it's a kitten. I sure hope that something will work out for this big sweetheart of a cat. :)
I just wanted to say what a sweetie Eduardo is! He does look huge!! I hope he finds a home soon! I would love to have another cat, but I really don't think Cameo could adjust to one! I am willing to try, but she saw one out the window and she went into a FIT! There's this huge cat at Petsmart here (looks alot like Eduardo) and I want him so so bad! But I am afraid to get them together because I am afraid that one would hurt the other!
I do have a comment/question (whatever you wanna call it :) )
Quote:
I would like to give him a bath, but he seemed upset after the vet trip - like he didn't trust me anymore - so I'm going to hold off on the bath thing - and hopefully he'll start cleaning himself up a bit now that he's inside.
Has anyone ever tried those little "bath cloths" that they sell at Petsmart? I was wondering if this would help his shedding and "dirty paws" as you called it. ;) I bought some for Cameo, because it seemed like she was shedding faster than I could brush her, and I didn't want to make her skin sore from brushing her so much. These worked pretty good for me, but I was wondering if anyone else had used them.
Well, that's all for me! Good Luck Tubby & Peanut's Mom! Good Luck Eduardo! You are certainly a ham for the camera!!
Susie
I came in this morning, and Eduardo was under the drafting table again. I think he likes it under there. :)
So he realized I was here and came out - but wouldn't come into my office. So I went to my boss's office to see what he was up to. I think I interrupted a bath. :) But when he saw me, he immediately started rubbing against a chair, then went over to his water. We don't have any bowls around here, so I improvised - knowing kitties like drinking out of glasses anyway, and gave him an old coffee cup to drink out of. Well, he went over to the glass, sniffed it.....then dipped his paw in! I thought I had another Peanut on my hands  but he just dipped once then started drinking. He didn't sniff his paw or lick it or anything after dipping, but still had to dip first. Silly kitty. ;) :D
Ok, unfortunately I can't spend all day taking pics and posting them here again....I've gotta get some work done or my boss is going to say the cat has got to go.
So the last pics for the day.....maybe. ;) :D
Eduardo will come out by me, but unless I constantly pay attention to him he always went back into my boss's office to hide. So I'm sitting here on the computer, calling to him. He answers me but doesn't come out. I keep calling, he keeps answering, but no show. So I stop calling. About 15 minutes later, I start calling again. No answer this time. I call a few more times and still no answer. I turn around to get up and go see what he's doing and look what I saw.
http://www.imagestation.com/picture/...3/fbe37efe.jpg
:D :D
This chair is behind me when I'm on the computer, but is only about 5 feet away from me. I don't know when he came out, but he sure is quiet when he wants to be. ;) :D
I talked to him a little, went over and petted him, came back to my desk and when I turned around again.....
http://www.imagestation.com/picture/...2/fbe37efc.jpg
:D :D
He seems so timid and shy, and afraid of the front office here, but....I had mentioned that I tried to block the mail slot so he wouldn't get out and he ripped the cardboard out of it - but thankfully couldn't get out. Well last night I put the cardboard back in, and covered the whole thing with some paper taped around all the edges so he'd have to tear the paper to get to the cardboard to get to the mail slot. Sooo.....this morning I come in and the paper is in shreads and the cardboard is out of the slot again. So I know he's got a side to him that really wants to get out at night. I'm thinking it's because he was probably most active at night while he was out. I try and keep him awake during the day so he sleeps at night, and I was hoping the scratcher thing would help keep him occupied, but the shreaded paper is evidence that he can't hide. Don't know what I'm going to rig up tonight - especially since I have to leave early and he'll be here alone for a longer time period.....any suggestions? I could close him in my boss's office, but I guess I'd rather not do that unless absolutely necessary. The good news is that he doesn't fit through the mail slot, but I have all sorts of horrible visions of him trying and getting stuck......:(
No suggestions about the mail slot, but I just wanted to say it's great that he is slowly coming out of his shell.
I can't get over how pink his nose is! He's so adorable. :D
*Just wondering if ES is still considering..... ;) *
Take him home overnight, tell Terry it is too prevent him getting stuck in the letterbox over night. Poor Kitty.Quote:

Mention that E's S will probually adopt him, so he KNOWS you haven't got any ideas about keeping him (He He).
Take him home, you know you want to
Oh I wish I could have him. Are you keeping him?
Well....I asked Terry, and unfortunately there is no way this sweetie is coming home with me - even if it is only at night and with the intention that I'll still look for a home for him. :( :( Sometimes he just makes me soooo mad. :(
I found some heavier paper to cover the mail slot last night - legal size file folders to be exact. Must have worked because they are still intact this morning - yeah! :D As soon as I came in he started meowing to me, but wouldn't come out of "his" office until he saw me. Then he was all over me, rubbing and looking for pets. I took a few pics and some small videos which I'm working on now, and will post real soon.
Right now - and for the past 15 minutes or so - he has been laying on the floor next to me, belly wide open, in the cutest pose, but unfortunately I ran my batteries dead with the earlier pics and videos and my spare battery is at home - drat! He's got such a soft looking tummy, but when I go to rub it, he pushes his head into my hand like he wants his head petted and not his tummy rubbed - have to break him of that habit. ;) :D Especially if he's going to keep offering his tummy up like that. ;) :D
I'm testing a video here. It's kind of weird because it looks almost like he's in water the way the pic is wavy, but I think that's because I tried to make it small. The bigger one I have doesn't do that.
In the beginning you can see him doing "happy feet" in the air :D and then he actually reaches for my hand to bring it to him to pet him. How sweet is that! :D He's resting now on one of the green chairs that I posted a pic of yesterday.
I got a call from a rescue org that works only with fosters, so they are going to put his pic and bio up on their website. They said they get a few hundred hits a day on it, and the fact that I'm willing to transport him will help - especially since there are so many kittens these days that the 3-4 year olds often get overlooked.
Another one called yesterday and said they are all full now, but if adoptions go well this weekend they may be able to take him in next week sometime. I didn't want to turn him in to a shelter, but they sound like a really good one - no kill and they make follow up calls and everything, so that might be an option also since I'm not getting much emotional support from either Terry or my boss on this. With Terry, it's like I can't even mention Eddie's name and he gets all defensive, and my boss just keep making comments like...I'll say "Don't let the cat out." and he'll come back with "Why not?" Or I'll say "Close the door so the cat doesn't get out." and he'll say "So, then he'll be gone and we won't have to worry about him anymore." He's a softy, but....
So anyway, this is Eddie's new favorite spot.
http://www.imagestation.com/picture/...6/fbe19099.jpg
Wow! It worked! Thanks Kim (ramanth) for the little instruction on how to use WMM. I edited and made it smaller and it worked - yippeee! I can now post small videos! Yipee!!! :D :D :D
This one you need to have your sound on to hear him meowing. He's a real talker when he's looking for attention. :D
Cute video!:) Samantha loves being rubbed in the same spots!
About Terry and your two cat rule, it could be worse, my husband has the one cat rule.:(
I hope that years from now after Samantha has lived a full, long, happy life
that maybe I can make a deal of getting two small cats that would be the same as one big one.;)
Good luck in finding a new home for your office cat, I noticed that he color coordinates well with the rug so any shedded fur will blend right in. :)

Or you could just take him home and when Terry mentions that there's a third cat in the house, look very concerned and say something like, "Third cat? You see a third cat? That could be a sign of a neurological disorder--maybe you should schedule a, er, CAT scan." ;)
Oh Debbie, he is such a sweetheart!! :p I have to keep coming back and look at the pics - thanks for posting them! He has really settled in well there! :D - Darn, I couldn't see the video clip. :(
I can picture how you've been running around looking for more paper and tape the last few days - what a luck you have a boss with a soft heart! I so hope you find a solution for the weekend - I think something is in progress right this minute. I'm so exited to hear news!! Has Sara reached you yet? How are you gonna get him a box? I'll stay up late to see what happens!
GOOD LUCK!! - and lots of hugs for being who you are! :)
Eddie (short for Eduardo and also short for my sweet Eddie boy) was sleeping on the floor by me before. On his side with his front paws curled under - so sweet. I was typing away, glanced over and this is what I saw.
http://www.imagestation.com/picture/...2/fbe10936.jpg
He sleeps like that all the time now, and that's even sweeter than the "on the side with paws curled under" pose. :D
I love it when kitties need to "air out their tummy" like this. :D
I need to go and get Eduardo's room ready for him. He is on his way over right now!
CONGRATS!!!
:D :D :D :D :D :D
It is just for the weekend!

Good luck locating him. :D

It took Princess Mocha Bean a while too... but now she loves her brother... well, most of the time.....
Edwina,
Brothers are great... there is always someone else to point the claw at... and twice the treats! Shhh.. don't tell but I LOVE to cuddle and play with Bonzo, too.

I took Edwina downstairs with me to help look for Eddie. My wounds will heal I'm sure. Eddie strolls across the floor like he been there all the while!
For the weekend he is staying in my niece's rooms in the basement. My niece and Turnip are off on break. When Debbie brought him over he used his litter box and had a bite to eat. Good boy!
Edwina hissed and growled at Debbie. Very embarrassing! Also, my niece and I will be having a conversation about proper dusting techinque. If Eddie is going to be under the furniture all the time I'd rather he not be covered with dust bunnies.
Photos tomorrow (without dust bunnies!)
Does he have a hat yet? :D
Congrats on one heckuva catch, Miz Edwina. He sure is a looker! We know you're just playin' hard to get....;)

Goodness! Turn my back for a MOMENT, and the whole world changes. I cannot believe Edwina is getting a brother!!! That is about past cool!! And, to think I helped with the naming...send no royalties now, ES.
Please get us some detailed info!! And, you gotta believe us multi cat households....it takes time to introduce #2 to #1...but, it gets easier all the time.
Is he her beau or her brudder?
very  either way!
Could you come over here when you are done with her?Quote:

YYEAAAA!!! I am so Happy for you all!
This is wonderful news!!! :D I was hoping to hear that Edwina was going to get a new brother. I sure hope that everything works out. :) I'm sure it will eventually because Eduardo looks like a real sweetheart and he'll probably still let Edwina rule the house. :)
